A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 671: Chapter 671: Ranking Rules

The Golden Scale Elder picked up the hot tea and took a sip.

”Actually, the rules are simple. First, let’s talk about the participation reward rules. The top three of the ranking board receive time-related treasures as rewards. The top hundred get different rewards each, and there’s no reward beyond the one hundredth place. Moreover, any Second-level Demon-Hunting Wizard who has already received a reward will never be able to compete on the ranking board again.”

After speaking, the Golden Scale Elder’s expression turned serious.

”As for the ranking board competition rules, during the century-long competition, any Demon-Hunting Wizard ranked beyond the hundredth place can challenge any ranked between the fourth and hundredth positions. If victorious, they replace the defeated in rank. Those ranked from fourth to hundredth also have the right to challenge the third-place Demon-Hunting Wizard. Every time the third-place wizard wins three consecutive times, they can challenge the second-place wizard. The second-place wizard, upon winning three times in a row, can issue a challenge to the first-place wizard!”

Green realized there was a problem.

”Are the rewards for time-related treasures different for the first, second, and third places?”

”Of course!”

The Golden Scale Elder naturally replied, ”Have you forgotten the three paths of wizard advancement?”

Green’s expression turned serious as he spoke in a low voice, ”Strength, wisdom, luck, the three paths of wizard advancement... But to advance to a Third-Level Great Sorcerer...”

”Hmph, don’t even mention advancing to a Third-Level Great Sorcerer. Even advancing to a Stigma Sorcerer can be achieved with absolute strength as long as recognized by the Wizard World and receiving a Special Class Honor Badge!”

The Golden Scale Elder’s words reminded Green of Master Sister Youquan, the Wizard World’s Special Class Honor Badge, indeed represents the Origin Will of the Wizard World, signifying the status of Supreme Sorcerer of the World!

The advantages are numerous, the most critical being that no Stigma Sorcerer can use academy wars as a threat anymore.

Additionally, it also provides various conveniences on the future path to True Spirit... as long as the Wizard World remains unscathed!

Taking a sip of hot tea, Green lowered his voice and asked, ”Then, how is the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings initially determined?”

”It follows the top elite Great Witch Hunters to quell internal rebellions among alliance rulers in some worlds, usually representing the will of the Wizard World, carried out swiftly and efficiently. My case concluded with results in a year.”

Green nodded thoughtfully.

...

A year later.

Mili’s Demon Hunting Castle was located in a crevice on the main trunk of the Tree of Life.

At a glance, there seemed to be hundreds of Demon Hunting Castles in this area, merely a general gathering place for Second-Level Demon-Hunting Wizards, not given special privileges like Green.

”Green, where is Eight Rainbows Nevis?”

When the Demon Hunting Castle’s doors opened, Mili had a natural smile on her face. On one hand, she was happy about advancing to a Second-Level Wizard, while on the other, she was pleased to see her old friend Green. Their interaction over millennia had always been very close; they were truly the kind of friends who could speak freely among wizards.

”That fellow went to find Leafy.”

Green shook his head and walked into the Demon Hunting Castle as Mili welcomed him.

Two sub-human servants, a man and a woman, were cleaning the room, while several humanoid slaves busied themselves around, preparing sumptuous and delicious food for the banquet table.

A total of four people were gathered around the long dining table. The female wizard with fiery red hair, who looked quite similar yet distinct from Mili, was naturally Mina. Her expression was typically the detached coldness of a World Guardian, but there was always a hint of warmth in her gaze toward Green.

The goal of becoming the Summer Guardian of the Wizard World was indeed very fitting for her.

The other three people were unknown to Green; Mili’s social circle differed from Green’s.

”That fellow, honestly, in the past, he would come to my Demon Hunting Castle every day to eat the food I made.”

Mili shook her head and complained, then led Green to the table, seating him next to her, and exchanged a glance with Mina.

”You haven’t taken the path of the Body of Bathing Fire. The sense of connection between our Bodies of Bathing Fire grows weaker.”

Mina’s voice was somewhat strange, mixed with a sense of regret, while Green calmly responded, ”Innate talent cannot determine our path as wizards; only wisdom does. Thank you for the matter of the Six-Ring Holy Tower.”

After Mili sat down, she signaled the humanoid slaves to withdraw and introduced the three unfamiliar friends to Green.

”Green, this is my father’s second disciple, my senior sister, Gumożana.”

Green looked over; a Second-Level Wizard, with an aura of a Second Level Honor Medal, she had short green hair, a well-rounded figure under the wizard robe, and a pair of big, almost enchanting eyes. Seeing Mina, a particularly ’important’ friend, her lips curled up.

Gumożana’s large eyes swept between Green and Mili.

”Master Green, if you’re looking for a wife to explore the path of wizardry together, my mentor’s beloved daughter, little Lili, would be a great choice. Hahaha, no wonder you were so aloof toward the male wizard my mentor introduced last time. Turns out, you have such an outstanding Demon-Hunting Wizard by your side. If it were me, I’d also pay no attention to that person.”

Gumożana chuckled lightly, while Mili, embarrassed, signaled her senior sister to stop.

Green was slightly taken aback but remained silent.

Though calm, the complex pain hidden deep within Green’s eyes revealed that even after a thousand years, the love in Green’s heart hadn’t faded; instead, it had only solidified over time, embedding itself into his soul.

A short-lived but beautiful memory was enough for Green to commemorate for a lifetime, becoming a profound mark in Green’s quest along the river of life on the wizarding path.

”Hmph, after all these years without mention, sister, you’ve forgotten that Green was once mine. It was you who stopped me, saying wizard apprentices shouldn’t form too many bonds, or if one advances to an Official Sorcerer and the other doesn’t... ”

Halfway through, Mina realized something and closed her mouth.

Grimm remained unaffected, silent.

”Ah... Green, let me introduce you. This is...”

The remaining two Demon-Hunting Wizards introduced by Mig were a wizard couple who both advanced to Second-Level Wizards. They seemed quite nervous and excited facing the title of Green First-Class Honor Medal.

As it is with every wizard who saw him, Green had long gotten used to it.

A First-Level Honor Medal signifies a semi-Stigma status; before advancing to a Stigmata Sorcerer, the First-Level Honor Medal is a unique existence!

Generally speaking, those who receive a First-Level Honor Medal often hide deep within the Holy Towers, preparing to advance to Fourth-Level Wizards, or traveling the Different World, rarely appearing in the Wizard World or Demon Hunting expedition.

Dinner was sumptuous, and Green managed to control his emotions, enjoying a brief gathering and joyous time as Mili’s friend.

After the banquet, Green connected with a few of his friends. Besides Wiki, who advanced to a Second-Level Wizard sixty years ago, Soros and Kretia remained First-Level Wizards, looking far from advancing to Second-Level Wizards. (To be continued.
