A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 680: Chapter 680: Initial Rankings

Contending for the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings is just like the Holy Tower Qualification Battle that wizard apprentices once fought.

The points are not about how many you gain yourself, but about steadily suppressing the other competitors and then ending this task rivalry.

Otherwise, even if Green is currently first, as long as this battle for the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings isn’t over and continues, other Demon-Hunting Sorcerers still have a chance to surpass him through various means. Which one of them doesn’t have thousands of lives tainted on their hands?

Incredibly fast!

The sharp claws of the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab slashed through, as if tearing the air itself apart. The body of Shadow Red Gauze burned with Shura Fire, swiftly dodging one crab claw before twisting again to avoid the second.

Following closely, the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab shot beams of light from its eyes, which Shadow Red Gauze deftly evaded, showing no intention of counterattack.

Compared to the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab, the truly terrifying one is the wizard hidden in the shadows; his terrifying attacks must be severed!

Roar!

The twenty-meter tall Usher Flame Soul Giant wielded a flame soul greatsword, slashing down from above. Shadow Red Gauze frowned; these creatures weren’t easy foes, all comparable to the Elders of the Red Fly-Man.

On the other side, the multi-headed giant bird clashed with the seven dark blackwater giant serpents and other low-level Red Fly-Men. Both the bird and the giant serpents had incomprehensible super regeneration abilities, fighting fearlessly despite their injuries, creating an astonishing spectacle.

A hand reached out, and Shadow Red Gauze astonishingly caught the flame soul greatsword of the Usher Flame Soul Giant with one hand!

”It’s time to show yourself!”

Such an action by Shadow Red Gauze was meant to lure Green out, yet all that arrived was a flame beam from the Usher Flame Soul Giant’s chest, instantly engulfing Shadow Red Gauze.

”Still not showing up?”

After the flame beam, Shura Fire burned on Shadow Red Gauze, seemingly not causing much harm, as the body agilely floated away under the increasing pressure of the flame soul greatsword.

Whoosh!

A sudden chill on the back startled Shadow Red Gauze, impulsively darting tens of meters away, only to hear thunder roaring behind. The chilling sensation continuously followed, twisting the surrounding light for a hundred meters.

”Now’s the time!”

Shadow Red Gauze appeared ready for this.

Crackle!

Black electric arcs and Shura Fire interlaced as Shadow Red Gauze’s true form mysteriously appeared on the Blood Bone Altar, the Annihilation Force only dispelling a phantom projection.

”Since you’re the Wizard leader, you’re worthy of me using the altar’s Shura power. Blame yourself for not ambushing me but instead killing my people!”

The fiercely burning Shura Fire spiraled around Shadow Red Gauze, transforming into a Shura Flame Giant, akin to Green’s former Elemental Embodiment state. A thirty-meter tall solid Shura Fire body formed.

After absorbing all the Shura Fire atop the altar, Shadow Red Gauze locked onto Green, a swift shadow darted forward!

Mighty as the force was, though it couldn’t match Green’s Triple-Headed Serpent Protection in effect during the academy wars, it far exceeded ordinary third-level creatures.

Could it be that this full altar version is a replica of the Triple-Headed Serpent Protection?

Sneering, Shadow Red Gauze’s massive Shura Fire hand swung towards that tiny figure, yet saw a sly smile under the blurred light spot of a gray-white mask, with a scarlet tongue curling to reveal a radiant pearl.

”Hmm? What’s this...”

Boom!

A beam light engulfed the Shura Flame Giant, descending amidst screams and howls, crashing onto the Blood Bone Shura Altar with a thunderous impact, shaking the small altar island as a large crater formed.

”Still not dead!?”

Under the Face of Truth, Green’s fierce light shone, triggering the Magnetism Star Core’s last residual energy, prompting another strike!

In despair, Shadow Red Gauze was utterly blasted into ashes.

”Twelve thousand seven hundred seventy points.”

Under the Face of Truth, Green’s scarlet tongue rolled the Magnetism Star Core into his mouth, coldly surveying the remaining Red Fly-Men, exuding an evil terror like a descending Demon King. With a flash of thunder, the Horned Skull Magic Wand descended, shattering the Level 1 Red Fly-Man who couldn’t resist, before charging at the other Red Fly-Men.

”Too... too astonishing!”

Swallowing hard, the Bullhorn Skeleton Mask Great Sorcerer watched Green’s slaughter, a cold sweat breaking on his back, acknowledging this was a true slaughter wizard!

On the side of the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird, upon Shadow Red Gauze’s death, the seven dark blackwater giant serpents dispersed, leaving Xiao Ba dissatisfied and squawking.

A short while later, the remaining Red Fly-Men scattered and fled.

The Bullhorn Skeleton Mask Demon-Hunter Sorcerer flew towards Green, speaking solemnly, ”I’m Arlius. It seems my lord is determined to take this Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings.”

”Green.”

With a somewhat deep voice, standing atop the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab, Green gazed at the floating Blood Bone Altar over the dark endless river, speaking solemnly, ”The Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings task is over. I’ve achieved my goal, claiming the initial first place. This altar task wasn’t listed on the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings, presumably the objective of you masters. I’ll be taking my leave.”

After casually conversing for a while, the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab carried Green away.

Simultaneously, all the Demon-Hunting Sorcerers competing for the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings took out their crystal balls in disbelief, faces shocked.

”This... this wizard named Green actually defeated the Shadow Red Gauze Cult leader.”

”Once with zero points, his true target was this. This wizard is truly terrifying. This Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings contest...”

”Green! Was it him?”

”It must be him. Only that First-Class Honor Medal Demon-Hunter Wizard could do such a thing. Truly a terrifying guy who has changed the world’s war situation. There’s no chance in this Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings competition now.”

With sighs, all Demon-Hunting Sorcerers, regardless of what they were doing, even those battling the Red Fly-Men tribes, sighed and left, flying back towards the Sorcerer World Spatial Fortress.

...

A month later, atop the Magnificent Tower’s Sorcerer World Main Institute Space Fortress at Armu Zensha.

Numerous Demon-Hunting Sorcerers gathered again in front of the World Gate. A Green Fly Royal Family member showed expressions of pure delight. In just a few months, the once troublesome Shadow Red Gauze was eliminated, as if helplessly slaughtered before these sorcerers.

The entire foundation of the Red Fly-Man’s resistance cult crumbled like this. Who would dare oppose the rule of the Green Fly Royal Family in this world in the future?

The Fly Royal Family gifted large trays of energy gems to the Demon-Hunting Sorcerers only for no one to move except Xiao Ba, laughing heartily while commanding the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird to throw them into the Dimensional Gap.

And that Green Sorcerer, now legendary, stood on the back of the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab, the first to step through the World Gate under the gaze of many Demon-Hunting Sorcerers, returning to the Wizard World.

”This guy’s strength...”

This centennial contest for the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings will make Green the ultimate challenge target for over four thousand participating Demon-Hunting Sorcerers!

However, only after being challenged three times consecutively by the third-place holder and winning thrice, can the second place gain the qualification to challenge. (To be continued.
