A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 675: Chapter 675: Shadowing (Part 1)

In the vortex of twisted light, Green flew over the Skomoylo Mountains.

After turning for several hourglass periods, Green finally made a discovery. Two Flymen came flying from afar, with purple eyes, they were Purple Fly People.

”No clues for now, let’s secretly follow these two targets to find a gathering place of the Fly People first.”

With this thought, Green quietly followed behind the two Flymen, without being noticed by them at all, eavesdropping on their conversation.

Due to the long-term influence of the Wizard Civilization, the language of the Green Fly Royal Family had completely changed to Wizard Language, to display their noble status.

The common Green Fly People and other colored Fly People, influenced over long periods, also spoke a mixed language of Wizard Language and ancient Fly Language, which was quite peculiar. However, following these two Flymen, Green was able to understand their words after some wise analysis.

”We better not go there. Although the corrosive agent from the Green Fly side is a bit more expensive, it’s the standard set by the Green Fly People. If we buy smuggled corrosive agents from there, our tribe will be wanted by the Green Fly army!”

The smaller of the two Purple Flymen flying at the back spoke like this.

Corrosive agents are an important seasoning for the Fly People to corrode food, similar to salt in ordinary households of the Wizard World, and are an essential survival resource among the Fly People.

”Hmph, the Green Fly People are actually monopolizing with corrosive agents, plundering our wealth, weakening our strength, reducing our population, willingly becoming the ruling tools of the Wizards, maintaining their plunder in this world, they are slaves to the Wizards!”

The tall Purple Flyman flying in front spoke angrily, pausing and saying unwillingly: ”The great king of the Fly People has not appeared for too long to uphold the rules of justice in the Fly People World and restrain the Green Fly People!”

”Shh!”

The Purple Flyman at the back was startled, looked around but with no one nearby, and said in a low voice: ”Keep it down, recently the Green Fly People have made big moves against the Shadow Red Gauze, it seems they’re serious this time, do you want to die?”

”Hmph, there’s no one around, what are we afraid of...”

Grumbling, this Purple Flyman also shut his mouth and stopped talking.

Following them from behind, Green was quite interested, with thoughts hidden under the Face of Truth.

It seems this Shadow Red Gauze might not only aim to start a war through the Red Fly People alone, replacing the Green Fly People’s status but intends to unite all non-Green Fly races to jointly resist Green Fly People’s rule, possibly even undermining the rules set by the Wizarding Alliance in this world!

...

Several hourglass periods later.

The two Purple Flymen arrived at a hidden spot in a valley recess, a few Blue Fly People flew up with different bone weapons in hand, making a ”whoosh”, ”whoosh”, ”whoosh” sound.

Neither these Blue Fly People nor the Purple Fly People that Green was following were advanced beings below the first biological grade, with life levels only slightly higher than a Human Knight, easily crushed by any Wizard.

”Brave Blue Fly Warriors, we specifically came here to purchase corrosive agents.”

The tall Purple Flyman leading them posed harmlessly, holding out a cloth bag containing a few low-grade inferior energy barytes, exuding chaotic energy fluctuations.

After a cautious inspection, one of the Blue Fly People patrolled a circle from afar while three others led the two Purple Flymen down into the hidden and lush vegetation of the valley.

Countless structures built from animal bones, left after Fly People corroded the flesh of prey. Among them, a building’s main structure vaguely resembled the spine and rib cage of a giant snake, standing as a natural architectural frame.

Inside this building, several chubby creatures similar to gibbons and rhinos munched on leaves, kept as livestock by the Fly People, for continuous collection of corrosive resources.

This secret camp was filled with a nauseating stench of rotting animal corpses, which however smelled wonderfully fragrant to the Fly People’s senses. Dozens of Blue Fly People busily moved around, showing no reaction to this smell.

Silently following behind the two Purple Flymen, Green gradually entered a bone structure. As the three Blue Fly People gestured, the two Purple Flymen walked inside.

A Flyman with red eyes, first biological grade!

In Green’s perception, the entire camp had about two hundred or so individuals, with only this Red Flyman reaching first-biological-grade standards. Yet, this Red Flyman was evidently different from other Fly People, exuding an eerie, bloodthirsty aura.

This certainly wasn’t an energy system of the Fly People World, and such a branch evolution path had never appeared on the Fly People’s evolutionary road.

Naturally, Green thought of the evil blood sacrifices of the Shadow Red Gauze.

Could it possibly be a communication with some powerful creature from a Different World?

Green paid no heed to the trading process, as the two Purple Flymen were not his targets, nor was he interested in this first-grade Red Flyman. He leisurely wandered through this Blue Fly People camp, ultimately confirming that there was only this one Red Flyman there.

Killing this Red Flyman would earn Green ten points, but he would also lose any leads to other Red Flymen.

As an elite among the elite Demonic Hunter Dark Wizards, Green’s way of thinking and acting was evidently different from ordinary Wizards, choosing to stay in the Blue Fly People camp.

In the information on the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings within the Crystal Ball.

In the Fly People World, second-level Demon-Hunting Wizards began a frenzy of slaughter, using various means to find information about Red Fly People. Once any Red Flyman was found, brutal slaughter would commence immediately, using all means necessary. The methods of war and the will of cruel slaughter were far beyond the Green Fly People’s imagination.

Large numbers of Red Flymen were assassinated like storms by the over four thousand second-level Demon-Hunting Wizards infiltrating this world.

As for those dozen or so third-level Great Demon Hunter Wizards?

They were merely hired by the Seven-Ring Holy Tower to earn some easy Witch Essence on the side, targeting primarily the high-ranking forces of the rebels.

The points among the top ranks of the Seven-Ring Holy Tower constantly refreshed and chased each other. In less than two months, the points of the first-ranked Demon-Hunting Wizard had already surpassed three hundred, equivalent to having killed three second-level Red Flymen.

In the Blue Fly People camp, Green, with zero points, showed no signs of impatience.

Green basked in the sunset of the Fly People World every day at the camp, studied the botanical specimens of this world, and even conducted detailed studies on the body structure and physiological development of the Fly People.

The Fly People, like frogs, undergo two developmental stages, namely the maggot larva form and the Flyman form.

Maggot larva Fly People are extremely weak, akin to human infants needing a mother’s care. The larvae can only survive in corrosive environments with strict conditions for temperature and humidity.

In three years, maggot larvae mature into Flymen, entering adulthood, with their lifespan varying according to their evolutionary degree.

At present, the overall power of the Fly People World roughly paralleled that of the Fire Crystal World post the Shadow Mystery’s volcanic cataclysm decline, ranking just slightly above the Primitive World, deemable as a backward Fourth-Class World within the Wizarding Alliance.
