Ning An's Wild Wish System

”Lawless and reckless, I suggest immediate punishment with execution.”

...

Watching the woman’s family walk away, Ning An casually spoke, ”Captain Zheng, do you think there’s still a chance of overturning this case?”

Zheng Kaiping, with a resigned smile, said, ”There certainly is, and it’s by finding out what exactly was exchanged and what happened between the couple in the marital home. If we can provide evidence on this, the case can be overturned!”

He then turned to Mother Cao and sighed, ”Auntie, it’s really not our fault that things have gotten to this point. We truly can’t find any objective evidence that would benefit your son, while the woman’s side...”

”It’s not your fault, it’s not your fault, it’s our misfortune...”

Mother Cao held Father Cao’s hand helplessly, shaking her head, tears streaming down her face.

”Damn it!”

Officer Xiaoli, who had been suppressing his anger, suddenly punched the air hard.

Aside from how disgusting the woman’s side was and how innocent the man seemed, just the series of consequences from this matter made him so angry his liver hurt.

If this stalemate continues, the case is bound to tip in favor of the woman.

Setting this precedent, those with nefarious intentions will certainly use it as an opportunity, opening Pandora’s box, and who knows how many disasters will follow!

Just as everyone’s expressions were shifting back and forth, Zheng Kaiping’s phone rang.

Seeing the name displayed on the screen, his expression immediately turned serious, and he apologized to Ning An before heading to a secluded corner, speaking quietly, ”Director Wang, what’s up?”

An excited voice came through the line, ”Xiaozheng, great news, great news!”

Zheng Kaiping’s breathing quickened, ”Could it be my application has been approved?”

”Ahem.” Came the embarrassed cough from the other end, followed by, ”Your application is still being processed, but we’ve busted a base of an underground porn site.”

”Oh~” Zheng Kaiping’s voice instantly turned lethargic, ”Congratulations to the brothers who cracked the case, it’s quite an achievement. I’ll treat them to drinks when I get back. If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now, busy over here.”

Sounding slightly annoyed, the voice directly said, ”Regarding that case you have, isn’t it that the man never had any solid evidence? We found it.”

”Uh-huh, alright...”

Zheng Kaiping gave a perfunctory response, yawning, just about to hang up the phone, when suddenly his neck stiffened, ”Director Wang, what did you say? I didn’t quite catch that, could you repeat it?”

”Hehe, you kid.” The voice on the other end chuckled, ”Coincidentally, when we caught that group, even before anything happened, their leader, who apparently knew a bit about the law, wanted to turn himself in right away.”

”What kind of law did he even learn, not even all of it.” Zheng Kaiping was amused, but then curiously asked:

”But how does someone involved in a porn operation have anything to do with a marriage case, and even able to provide evidence? Just hearing about it sounds far-fetched.”

”That’s where the coincidence lies. He’s in the renovation business, and each time when doing renovations for others, he’d install some hidden cameras for his own filming and editing convenience.”

The voice on the other end chuckled, ”Even more coincidentally, the renovation of that new apartment was done by him, and he caught everything that happened in the room on camera!”

Thud!

Thud!

Zheng Kaiping had never felt so thrilled before, feeling a bit dizzy, he whispered, ”So, in the surveillance video...”

”It’s already been sent to you, and we’ve also supplemented the court with the material evidence. The case will probably be retried in the next couple of days.”

Director Wang reiterated, ”This video can’t be made public just yet, handle everything else as you see fit.”

”Yes!”

After hanging up, he indeed found a new video on his phone.

Zheng Kaiping took a deep breath and clicked it open.

At the start of the video, Mr. Fan was gripping the curtain with one hand, holding a lighter in the other, fiercely saying to Mr. Cao, ”The dowry must be fully given, and my name must be added to the property deed!”

”Moreover, the dowry must be increased by an additional hundred thousand. A good girl like me with someone as unpromising as you, you’re the one who’s got the benefit! I must secure something for myself!”

Seeing Mr. Cao’s lack of response, Mr. Fan pressed the lighter button, further threatening, ”Alright, alright, you’re not agreeing, right? Then you can forget about this house!”

Only then did Mr. Cao turn his head to look at her, still saying nothing, only rolling his eyes.

Mr. Fan immediately got enraged, lighting the curtain with the lighter as she walked towards the door, cursing as she went, ”I’m telling you, you poor bastard, all you can do in your life is fantasize about pigs!”

”Let me tell you, the only reason I was willing to marry you was for your dowry. No money and you still want to get with me? Only when you have the money can we sleep together, before that, hmph!”

As she reached for the doorknob, she turned back to curse angrily, ”I thought you would give me money, that’s why I came back to you. Without money, don’t think you’ll have it easy, you really think I’m some street hooker willing to sleep with you for cheap? Go to hell along with your shameless mother!”

The incident unfolded too quickly, and Mr. Cao clearly didn’t react in time, eyes widening in helplessness.

”Seriously, are you out of your damn mind? We don’t have to get married or sleep together, but are you trying to die by setting the curtain on fire? Get back here and put it out!”

The flame on the curtain grew stronger, and just as Mr. Fan exited, Mr. Cao got up from the sofa, rushing straight towards the door.

Seeing up to this point, Zheng Kaiping understood everything.
