Ning An's Wild Wish System

He glanced not far away, standing high, overlooking the entire surroundings.

In the east, south, west, and north directions, there were mountains, flanked by mountain shadows, located precisely in the Northeast, marking the position.

He calculated with his fingers, and his expression suddenly turned serious.

”Someone has set up a Soul-Sealing Array here, which can preserve the spirituality of malevolent entities and accelerate the absorption of yin energy. The Soul-Sealing Array is arranged with seventeen Communication Charms.

The so-called Communication Charms, in ancient times, were copper coins touched by a Child’s Eyebrow. These coins, having passed through many hands, were heavily infused with yang energy. With a Child’s Eyebrow, they could suppress the flow of yin energy.

However, nowadays, copper coins are no longer used; one-yuan coins are used instead, yielding similar effects.”

While Lin Jingye was calculating intensively in his mind, he explained the Soul-Sealing Array to the gathered crowd,

”The array’s eyes should be distributed in these four places: due east, southeast, northwest, and due north. Daoist Master, Lin Nanbei, I’ll go over there, you two search over there.”

Having said this, Ye Yunqing and Lin Nanbei also nodded solemnly and began to search carefully, dividing the task.

The few of them naturally understood that this spot was far heavier with yin energy compared to other mountain shadows. With the array’s enhancement and absorption, it was uncertain what changes might occur in the thing underground.

They moved cautiously, fearing accidentally disrupting the array and causing a corpse transformation.

Soon, Lin Nanbei, near the water, was the first to find a piece.

The middle of the coin had been hollowed out, shaped like ancient copper coins.

”The seventeen coins are arranged in a small seven-officials’ position, with only one in motion. Water drives motion; find this one, and the others will be much easier to locate.”

Hearing this, the two breathed a sigh of relief and resumed their urgent search.

Wang Dahai stood not far away, stretching his neck to look, his expression both tense and confused. Upon seeing the coin, he couldn’t help but sigh in relief, but upon looking again, he felt the surrounding light seemed a bit cold.

He looked up at the sky, seeing the sunset about to descend, the crimson gradually thinning.

”The last one is found!”

An excited voice snapped him back to attention, shaking his head to dispel bad thoughts, and he refocused his gaze.

With the discovery of the last coin, the Daoists visibly relaxed.

Inserting several small flags in the reverse direction, Lin Jingye wiped the fine sweat from his forehead and turned to smile sheepishly, ”Two brothers, come over and help clear around.”

Soon, the surrounding weeds were completely cleared.

”What is that?”

Everyone’s eyes were fixed on it, and with the small dirt mound cleared, a humanoid shape was revealed.

”Daoist Lin.” Wang Dahai called out.

At this moment, Lin Nanbei showed no trace of his usual casual demeanor, his expression heavy, lips pressed tightly, saying nothing.

After a while, he gritted his teeth, making a decision: ”Unable to assess the risk, recommend harmless disposal!”

Harmless disposal meant firepower coverage, directly turning this damned thing to ashes.

Before he was tasked with this mission, the official stance was to try and preserve a sample alive, but now he couldn’t guarantee whether the thing inside had mutated.

For dealing with a typical zombie, he and Lin Jingye could barely manage, but a truly mutated zombie was better dealt with through harmless disposal.

Just to be safe, Lin Nanbei painfully took out thirty-six copper coins from his pocket and set up a small array, called the Yang Protection Array.

This was an array that shielded a supernatural entity’s perception.

After all, he couldn’t be sure whether the zombie before him had already developed that glimmer of intelligence to seek benefits and avoid harm.

In this area, he didn’t want to take any chances; the safer, the better.

The Yang Protection Array was formed of thirty-six copper coins arranged in the positions of the thirty-six celestial stars, with red threads connecting them, all dyed with rooster blood, full of yang energy.

The arrangement was not difficult; the key was to have heart’s blood from someone with pure yang in their birth date’s four pillars, activating the array’s yang energy.

After biting and bleeding from his forefinger and marking each coin with blood, Lin Nanbei raced in the direction Ye Yunqing and the others had left, mustering all the effort as if taking an entrance exam back in the day!

As the group left, Wang Dahai nodded along.

Hey!

The soldiers grinned, with a shout, ten howitzers aimed at the creature, along with various other weapons.

There was even a sniper who, for some reason, brought a whole five hundred bullets!

But no matter, they didn’t believe in anything bizarre in this world!

If it exists, it must be due to insufficient firepower, not enough saturation!

If need be, interspersed tactics are used when poor; when rich, firepower coverage. Now, it’s time to give that damned thing a touch of modern shock!
