Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2720: Chapter 2720: Still Have to Gather Provisions

But now, the ones speaking and doing these things are Prince Zhan and Prince An Yang. Those two are a hundred times more important than these noble clans and cannot be offended; they are, after all, the masters of Huayan Peak and Wulong Mountain.

”What could I do? Prince An Yang already spoke up; could I ignore him?” The Head of the Ye Family felt unjustly blamed. Wasn’t he the one Prince An Yang called by name?

”You all didn’t step up, and when I did say something, you now think I was wrong. If you have the guts, go tell Prince An Yang yourself.”

In that situation, someone had to speak up, right? Could they really let the presence of the two princes go cold?

By then, they might be in even more trouble.

”But do we really need to donate so much money?” Another family head stood up.

Just thinking about having to fork out so much money made him feel the pain. If only the Head of the Ye Family could donate a little less, then everyone could donate a little less too, right?

”If each of us donates that much, it might not even fit in the national treasury, right?”

Upon hearing this, the Head of the Ye Family rolled his eyes.

”Why don’t you donate one or two million taels?”

Prince An Yang already mentioned how much she donated, and the Prince Zhan Residence contributes every year. And here he is implying we should donate one or two million taels? Isn’t that disrespectful to Prince An Yang?

”Well...”

The family heads were left speechless after being reprimanded.

”You also think it’s not feasible, yet you insist on questioning me?” The Head of the Ye Family snorted twice, having nothing more to say to these family heads.

Does he not feel the loss of his money? That money is extremely useful to him; even a single copper coin could do great things. Of course, he’s reluctant to part with it.

But the conversation had gone this far. If he was stingy, everyone knows well what the consequences would be, right?

”Let’s not block my way here anymore. I still need to hurry back to the mansion to prepare the money to deliver to the Ministry of Revenue.” With that, he turned around and left, completely ignoring the furious noble clan patriarchs stamping their feet on the spot.

With no other choice, since the spearheading Head of the Ye Family had left, the other family heads had no solution and had to return to their respective homes.

”Ah, so much money gone with just a flap of the lips.”

Patriarch Jin watched as the carriages of the family heads gradually disappeared into the distance and sighed heavily.

Beside him, Patriarch Gou raised his hand and patted his shoulder, ”Spending money for safety is worth it, Brother Jin. We are still better off.”

They were just following the trend and donating money, so there wouldn’t be any trouble for them. The one in trouble is the Head of the Ye Family. Being called by name by Prince An Yang is not a good thing.

”Let’s go, let’s go, we still need to gather resources.”

Patriarch Jin didn’t say anything else, shaking his head as he walked.

”Hmm?”

Patriarch Gou was taken aback and took quite a while to understand the meaning behind Patriarch Jin’s words.

Right, the Northern Lands are in the midst of a drought, and food is the most scarce. Although Prince An Yang said the food she donated would sustain the people of the Northern Lands for a year, who knows how long the drought will last?

So, these noble clans not only need to donate money but should also proactively donate some food. This would also make the two princes look good.

Fortunately, Patriarch Jin mentioned it, or else he wouldn’t have thought of it.

Thinking this, he also hurried back to quickly gather food, otherwise, if the other family heads simultaneously tried to gather food upon receiving the news, how much food would still be available to buy?
