Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2703: Chapter 2703: It’s Best to Keep Contact to a Minimum

Because of the return of the two princes to the capital, he has confined those young family members who love to indulge in debauchery, ordering them not to go out and create trouble.

If both princes paid attention to these matters, wouldn’t the survival of other major clans be even more precarious?

“Let’s take one step at a time. Try to speak less and reduce our presence. I believe the two princes won’t pay too much attention to us,” said Patriarch Gou.

In any case, he had already made up his mind to remain as silent as possible, merely as a supporting figure, letting others take the stage as they wished.

He would not stir trouble nor stop others from stirring trouble; staying quiet was enough.

“I heard that young master of the Ye Family killed someone on the streets of the capital a few days ago?” he whispered to Patriarch Jin, while his gaze was fixed on the Head of the Ye Family, who was chatting gaily with the other family heads in the tavern.

“You’re talking about him. Yes, he killed someone, but the matter was left unresolved. I heard that a considerable sum of money was spent to pin a charge of harassing a good woman on the other party, making it seem like the young master of the Ye Family was a great hero acting for justice.”

Patriarch Jin sneered. He truly couldn’t bring himself to such ends. Even if someone in his family indeed committed a wrongdoing, he would sincerely apologize, punish those who deserved punishment, and pay money if needed.

Unlike the Ye Family, who wrongfully accused the other side despite their innocence, ruining a lifetime’s good reputation.

“Who was the other party?” Patriarch Gou inquired.

“It was the youngest son of the Changting Marquess Family. But the Changting Marquess Residence has declined for many years, having no power in the court, unable to fight against the Ye Family, merely enduring their bullying.”

Patriarch Jin sighed. What a pity for the young master of the Changting Marquess Residence, gone so young, and even in death, carrying a tainted reputation!

“Even with this, the Head of the Ye Family still seeks to fawn on those two princes?” he questioned in confusion.

“Uh.”

Patriarch Gou was choked by his words, suddenly stunned.

Indeed, those princes are extraordinarily capable. How could they not know about the events in the capital? Especially recent events, they must be aware, right?

In these major clans, there are always a few scions who, relying on their family background, bully people outside. You can’t escape this.

Could it be that the two princes heard about this, which is why they summoned them all together, as a warning? If so, they had better lay low to avoid being caught.

“I heard there’s going to be a major upheaval in the palace soon.” He glanced around, ensuring no one was paying attention to them, then lowered his voice significantly and spoke.

“Of course, there will be a major upheaval. Just look at the Retired Emperor’s current state. Naturally, his forces must be purged,” Patriarch Jin also lowered his voice and said.

Recently, he has notified his entire family to sever ties with the offspring of other major clans, even with close friends, to take a break for a while.

Marital ties and such should also be minimized, lest the major upheaval in the capital implicate his family.

“With the two princes back, the emperor can also settle down and deal with those who harbor disloyalty. I’m afraid the capital won’t be peaceful for quite a long time.”

“Indeed.”

Patriarch Gou also nodded, agreeing with his words.

Fortunately, the Gou Family has always refrained from involving in such matters, solely focusing on commerce. Even the talents nurtured within their family remain unaligned with any factions, solely loyal to the emperor.
