Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 849: Chapter 892: Unmoved by Temptation

”Come downstairs for dinner.” Mu Beiting, on the other hand, looked completely composed, as if he didn’t sense anything strange at all, and went straight downstairs.

Once downstairs, Mu Beiting deliberately asked in confusion, ”Just now I heard Chu Yi crying. What happened to her?”

As soon as Mu Beiting spoke, Pete, who was following behind him, stumbled and almost fell flat on the floor!

What kind of act is BOSS putting on now! He’d clearly seen everything at the stairway just now, yet he was still asking even though he knew. What on earth was he playing at!

Ruan Zhitong immediately hooked her arm through his, complaining aggrievedly, ”Hubby, what am I supposed to do if Chu Yi doesn’t want me at all now? She starts crying the second I touch her! Am I really that scary-looking?”

Mu Beiting gently patted her hand and comforted her, ”No. You look fine. Aside from a bit of swelling, everything else has pretty much recovered. Chu Yi was smiling earlier too, maybe she’s just acting spoiled and throwing a little tantrum.”

”I hope so.” Ruan Zhitong pouted, feeling extremely stifled inside.

Xiao Bai was holding little Chu Yi, rocking her the way adults did as he soothed her, and said to Mu Beiting, ”Daddy, you and Uncle Pete go wash your hands! Then we’ll go eat together!”

”Mm.” Mu Beiting nodded and went into the bathroom with Pete. When they came back out with their hands clean, he took little Chu Yi from Xiao Bai’s arms. ”You eat your dinner nicely. I’ll hold Chu Yi.”

”Oh.” Xiao Bai answered softly.

He knew very well that usually there was no problem with him holding Chu Yi to play with her or coax her for a bit, but holding a baby while eating was a special skill he hadn’t learned yet. So he could only let Daddy hold Chu Yi.

Once little Chu Yi was in Mu Beiting’s arms, she didn’t cry or fuss, and her smile couldn’t have been happier.

The sight made Ruan Zhitong’s eyes involuntarily dim.

Seeing the expression on her face clearly, Mu Beiting comforted her, ”Don’t overthink it. Let’s go eat.”

”Mm.” Ruan Zhitong nodded and, after washing her hands, sat down at the dining table.

After dinner, Mu Beiting stayed downstairs playing with Chu Yi and Xiao Bai for a while, then bathed Chu Yi. When she got sleepy and tired, he fed her milk, coaxed her to sleep, and put her in the nursery before finally having a moment free.

From start to finish, Ruan Zhitong had stayed by Mu Beiting’s side. Even though she didn’t hold Chu Yi or bathe her, she was there the whole time.

Seeing that it was already so late and Pete still hadn’t left, she couldn’t help feeling a bit puzzled.

Could there really be that much work and he still wasn’t done?

With that doubt in mind, Ruan Zhitong went into the bedroom together with Mu Beiting.

As soon as they walked in, Mu Beiting noticed the bedding on the bed had been changed and frowned. ”When did the sheets and quilt get changed?”

Ruan Zhitong didn’t sense anything off about him at all and said casually, ”When I was napping today. Maybe I stayed at the hospital too long and the bedding hadn’t been changed, it had a smell, so I just changed everything.”

Hearing that, Mu Beiting pressed his lips together and stayed silent.

Seeing him not say anything, Ruan Zhitong thought he was unhappy. She quickly looked at him and asked cautiously, ”Hubby, are you upset that I changed the sheets and quilt without asking you?”

Mu Beiting curved his lips in a smile and fondly patted her head. ”Silly girl, why would I be? You’re the hostess of this house. Don’t say just the sheets and quilt on our bed—even if you wanted to change every set of bedding in the entire house, that’d be fine.”

”I knew you wouldn’t blame me, hubby!” Hearing Mu Beiting’s words, Ruan Zhitong was overjoyed and couldn’t help planting a kiss on his handsome face.

But after that kiss, Ruan Zhitong didn’t pull back right away. Dense little kisses fell bit by bit on Mu Beiting’s face, his forehead, the bridge of his nose, and finally on Mu Beiting’s thin lips.

The moment her lips touched Mu Beiting’s thin lips, Ruan Zhitong couldn’t help a surge of excitement in her heart.

It had been over ten years, and she had finally kissed these lips.

Back when they were together, she had never touched this mouth, and today she finally had the chance.

Even though it was by borrowing Ye Anxin’s face, she didn’t care. As long as she could have him, that was enough.

Mu Beiting didn’t resist or refuse, just let Ruan Zhitong kiss him.

His lack of resistance, to Ruan Zhitong, was an invitation. She hurriedly wrapped her arms around Mu Beiting’s straight waist, her small hands roaming all over his body.

Slowly, her hands reached the buttons of his shirt. Just as she was about to undo them, Mu Beiting caught her hand and pressed it down.

Ruan Zhitong stopped all her movements and looked at Mu Beiting in confusion. ”Hubby, what’s wrong?”

Mu Beiting smiled and stroked her face. ”Be good, go take a shower first.”

Ruan Zhitong hooked up the corners of her lips in a seductive smile. ”Let’s shower together.”

”You go first. I’ll run the hot water for you.” As he spoke, without waiting for Ruan Zhitong’s reaction, he stepped into the bathroom ahead of her, and soon the sound of running water came from inside.

Only after the hot water was ready did Mu Beiting come back out of the bathroom.

”Then I’ll go shower first.” Although she was unhappy that she couldn’t shower with Mu Beiting, Ruan Zhitong didn’t want to come off as too forward.

Ye Anxin had always been a very passive person; if she acted too proactive, it would definitely arouse Mu Beiting’s suspicion.

After she finished showering, Ruan Zhitong came out wearing a bathrobe. Just as she was about to say something to Mu Beiting, he went into the bathroom to shower instead.

Ruan Zhitong lay on the bed, staring dreamily at the bathroom door. Just thinking that tonight would be their first night sleeping together, she felt unbelievably excited.

So when the bathroom door opened and Mu Beiting came out with a bath towel wrapped around his waist, Ruan Zhitong immediately sat up, smiling sweetly at him and throwing him a flirtatious look.

Mu Beiting either didn’t catch it or pretended not to see. He walked over, sat down on the edge of the bed, and started rubbing the water from his hair by himself.

Ruan Zhitong quickly leaned over to help him dry his hair.

After she finally finished drying it, she casually tossed the towel aside, then wrapped her arms around Mu Beiting’s neck from behind, gently exhaled a breath of air by his ear, then took his earlobe into her mouth. Her neat teeth nibbled lightly on it, working hard to stimulate Mu Beiting’s nerves and awaken the desire buried in his subconscious.

”Hubby, I missed you.” The words carried an unintentional double meaning—on the surface she was saying she missed him, but she was also telling him she was ready and waiting for his cherishing.

Ruan Zhitong felt that her meaning was already so obvious, Mu Beiting would definitely push her down on the bed and love her thoroughly any second now.

She didn’t expect Mu Beiting to suddenly stand up from the bed and say gently, ”We lost a lot of time this past week, I’ve fallen behind on a lot of work. Pete is still waiting for me in the study. You go to sleep first tonight, don’t wait up for me. I might be busy until very late.”
