Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 848: Chapter 891: Doesn’t Want Her Real Mom?

But, after all, that’s his mom! He didn’t want his mom to be sad hearing those words!

He thought, this strange feeling should be temporary, and after a while, it should get better!

”I know!” Mu Beiting patted his head, assuredly made a promise, and then turned to leave.

Watching Mu Beiting’s departing figure, Xiao Bai suddenly felt a bit disoriented! He didn’t know why, but he felt as if dad had something on his mind! What on earth was dad thinking about? He used to think he understood dad quite well, but now he felt more and more that he couldn’t figure him out?

Xiao Bai scratched his head, though puzzled, he didn’t think too much! He continued to lower his head, playing with little Chu Yi in his arms!

Not long after Mu Beiting returned to the study, Pete came in carrying a big stack of folders!

The two of them stayed in the study all afternoon! When Ruan Zhitong woke up from a nap, Mu Beiting was still in the study dealing with business!

It wasn’t until dinner was ready and the butler came up to call them for dinner that Ruan Zhitong went to knock on the study door.

Soon, Mu Beiting’s deep voice came from the study, ”Come in!”

Ruan Zhitong twisted the doorknob, poking half her head in, she saw Mu Beiting and Pete both looking at her, playfully stuck out her tongue, pushed the door open and walked in, squinting her eyes and smiling sweetly, ”Uncle, you’ve been busy all afternoon, it’s time to eat!”

Mu Beiting nodded, speaking indifferently, ”Hmm! You go ahead, I’ll be down in a moment!”

”Okay!” Ruan Zhitong obediently nodded, looking at Pete, ”Brother Pete, why don’t you stay and have dinner with us too!”

Pete didn’t hesitate to agree, ”Thank you, madam, I will!”

Before leaving, Ruan Zhitong still gave a reminder, ”Then I’ll go down first! Remember, you need to come down quickly, otherwise, the food will get cold and won’t taste good!”

”Yeah! We’ll be down shortly!” Mu Beiting responded with a smile.

Ruan Zhitong smiled sweetly, then turned and left the study!

The moment the study door was closed, the smile on Mu Beiting’s face instantly froze, his eyes flashing with a sharp light.

As Ruan Zhitong went downstairs, Xiao Bai was already sitting on the sofa! And little Chu Yi had been handed to the nanny.

Ruan Zhitong walked over, speaking softly, ”Xiao Bai, wash your hands for dinner!”

”Okay!” Xiao Bai nodded obediently, standing up and heading to the bathroom to wash his hands.

”Come on, let me hold Chu Yi!” After Xiao Bai entered the bathroom, Ruan Zhitong walked to the nanny, reaching out to take little Chu Yi.

The nanny, not thinking much, handed little Chu Yi to Ruan Zhitong.

However, as soon as little Chu Yi, who was chewing on her fingers, was taken into Ruan Zhitong’s arms, she immediately pursed her lips and started to cry sadly.

Seeing little Chu Yi cry as soon as she was in her arms, Ruan Zhitong felt greatly irritable, but her face was full of helplessness, ”You little one, you were fine just a moment ago, why do you start crying so terribly as soon as you’re in my arms? Is it because mommy looks scary and frightened you?”

Upon hearing little Chu Yi’s cries, Xiao Bai hurriedly ran out from the bathroom, ”Mom, what’s wrong with Chu Yi? She was fine just now, why did she suddenly start crying again?”

”I don’t know either, I just took her in my arms and she started crying!” Saying this, Ruan Zhitong squatted down, leveling with Xiao Bai, and touched his face, asking sadly, ”Xiao Bai, tell me, does mommy look scary?”

She had been holding Chu Yi repeatedly, but Chu Yi cried terribly each time! She thought of that day at the restaurant on the boat when Chu Yi woke up, she cried a lot while being held by her, but immediately stopped crying when Ye An’s mother held her!

Then there was the conversation at the hospital, and now today! Anyway, as long as she held her, Chu Yi would surely cry!

Gradually, she seemed to understand something!

Perhaps, her appearance and disguise had deceived everyone around her, but they hadn’t fooled this little over three-month-old baby!

Children and adults are different, adults see things through their eyes, but infants rely on their senses!

Perhaps, when she held little Chu Yi, Chu Yi felt that her aura was different from Ye Anxin’s, knowing she wasn’t her mom, and thus resisted.

However, since children only know how to cry and not talk, they could only express their resistance through crying.

There’s never been a child who would cry so badly when held by their birth mother! No matter how unattractive a mother is, children always feel their mom is the most beautiful in the world!

Now, Chu Yi was crying so aggressively, if this continued, a flaw would surely be revealed!

So, she must find herself a good excuse and reason! She couldn’t let her whole plan be ruined by a baby just over three months old.

Hearing Ruan Zhitong’s words, Xiao Bai sensed the sadness in her words, seeing her still badly swollen right face, he quickly comforted her, ”Not at all, I think you’re great! No matter what mom changes into, in my heart, you’re the most beautiful! Chu Yi is still young, she doesn’t understand these things yet, give it some time, and she won’t cry like this anymore!”

Ruan Zhitong lowered her eyelids, pretending to be sad, ”Mom’s face has become like this, who knows how long it will take to get better! I’m just afraid that if my face doesn’t heal, Chu Yi will always refuse to be held by mom!”

Xiao Bai quickly continued to comfort her, ”Don’t worry, mom! Your face will surely get better! It’s just a matter of time! Chu Yi will slowly accept you and let you hold her!”

”I hope so!” Ruan Zhitong deliberately sighed, gently coaxing the still-crying little Chu Yi in her arms.

But no matter how she tried to comfort her, little Chu Yi kept crying fiercely!

Seeing little Chu Yi crying until she was almost out of breath, Xiao Bai couldn’t bear it, hastily said, ”Mom, let me hold her! If I hold and comfort her, she’ll be fine! She just had milk, if she keeps crying like this, she’ll spit it up!”

”Hmm!” Despite being gritted with teeth in anger, Ruan Zhitong still handed little Chu Yi to Xiao Bai.

Sure enough, as soon as Xiao Bai took little Chu Yi into his arms, she immediately stopped crying, even letting out giggles.

Throughout the entire process, neither Ruan Zhitong nor Mu Beiting noticed the two figures standing at the second floor staircase!

From the moment Ruan Zhitong picked up little Chu Yi, Mu Beiting and Pete had been standing there! So, naturally, they saw everything that had just happened!

Witnessing all that was happening downstairs, Pete looked at Mu Beiting with surprise, ”President, this...this...!” This situation left Pete at a loss for words!

A three-month-old baby wouldn’t refuse her own mother, right? Babies like someone based on their feelings, and it’s natural for babies to want their parents from birth!

Yet... previously everything seemed fine, but this time the baby refused her own mother, crying so much! It seemed like the person holding her wasn’t her mother but someone wanting to harm her!
