Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 832: Chapter 875: Missing Without a Trace

”Your mom ran into Su Yuexin’s mom today, they had a dispute, and as a result, she got pushed into the river!” Mu Beiting explained with unusual calmness, summing up the whole process in just one sentence.

”What? Mom fell into the river?”

”Madam fell into the river?” Upon hearing Mu Beiting’s words, both the butler and Xiao Bai spoke up almost simultaneously.

They couldn’t imagine how everything could change so drastically from the calm of the day to such turmoil in just one day.

Fearing Xiao Bai would be too distressed over Ye Anxin, Ye’s mother hurried to comfort him, ”Xiao Bai, don’t worry. Your mom has already sent a lot of people to search. I believe they will definitely find your mom back!”

Unfortunately, Xiao Bai did not react as Ye’s mother had imagined, crying and clamoring to find his mom. Instead, he asked very calmly, ”What time did mom fall in? Were you on the call with the butler when it happened?”

Ye’s mother nodded, choking back sobs, ”Around that time!”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Bai immediately grew agitated, speaking in a tone that was both irritable and furious, ”That was at noon! Now it’s already been the whole afternoon, several hours passed, and still no news! Mom can’t swim. How could she possibly be okay after being in the water for so long!”

Originally intending to comfort Xiao Bai, Ye’s mother found herself retorted, and simply stood silently by the side, quietly shedding tears.

Mu Beiting coldly glanced at Xiao Bai, his expression unchanging as he said, ”Xiao Bai, is this how you speak to your elders? Apologize!”

Hearing Mu Beiting’s words, Ye’s mother quickly waved her hands, ”No need, no need, Xiao Bai is right, no apology is needed!”

Even though Ye’s mother said so, Xiao Bai still lowered his head and sincerely apologized to her, ”Grandma, I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have spoken to you in that tone just now!”

Ye’s mother hurriedly replied, ”It’s okay, it’s okay! You are just concerned about your mom, it’s not your fault!”

Xiao Bai pouted, said nothing further, and instead stood next to Mu Beiting, standing on tiptoes, watching the crowd searching on the river.

The evening breeze blew, carrying a touch of the river’s chill, causing those whose hearts were already cold to shiver involuntarily.

The crowd that was watching lost patience and left initially, while others continued to stand and observe, keeping an eye on the latest developments. In the meantime, they couldn’t help but speculate about Mu Beiting’s identity! Who could command such resources to call upon so many military off-road vehicles and dispatch so many rescuers at once? Judging by the number of rescuers, it seems like the entire city’s rescuers have been gathered.

Xiao Bai also noticed the surrounding onlookers, looking at them; he couldn’t help but frown and said coldly to the butler, ”Butler, drive all these people away and make sure they keep their mouths shut. If any of them dare to speak about what happened today, they’ll regret it!”

Though he hadn’t been there earlier, just one look at these people, he knew they must have been dining here earlier! And surely they stood idly, watching with their eyes as his mother fell into the river!

If they had stepped in to help even just a little when Su Yuexin’s mom was arguing with his own mom, his mother might not have fallen into the river!

He doesn’t blame them for not saving her since no one is obligated to save or help you! However, if they’ve chosen not to save, then they shouldn’t stay here gawking! They’re just a bunch of people enjoying the spectacle!

”Yes!” The butler nodded, signaled the bodyguards accompanying Mu Beiting, and they dispersed the crowd hiding behind, warning them sternly to forget today’s events, or there would be consequences!

The crowd initially speculated about Mu Beiting’s identity, but faced with a group of towering bodyguards, they didn’t dare linger and quickly nodded and left.

Once the crowd was dispersed, the rescuers continued searching for a long time!

But still found nothing!

As time ticked away, the last glimmer of hope Ye’s mother had was quietly fading away!

And Xiao Bai remained exceptionally calm, neither crying nor making a scene, just standing there watching the people searching the river!

Little Chu Yi was also particularly well-behaved, not making a fuss. When tired, she just yawned lazily and then closed her eyes and fell asleep quietly.

Seeing Little Chu Yi asleep, Mu Beiting stood up and handed Little Chu Yi to the butler, ”Butler, take Chu Yi, my mother-in-law, and Xiao Bai back home. I will stay here!”

”I don’t want to!”

”I want to stay here!” Xiao Bai and Ye’s mother simultaneously refused.

Mu Beiting frowned and said to Xiao Bai, ”Xiao Bai, you need to go to school tomorrow, so you have to go home and rest tonight! Staying here won’t help the search, and you’ll just distract me!” Turning to Ye’s mother, he added, ”You should go home and rest tonight too, wait for my news! If you stay here, I’ll just be distracted!”

”But...!” Ye’s mother hesitated, looking at Mu Beiting, unwilling to leave. She just wanted to stay to receive the latest updates on her daughter as soon as possible.

Seeing Ye’s mother unwilling to leave, the butler also joined in persuading, ”Ma’am, Mr. Mu is right. Please come with us! It’s getting dark here, if you stay, everyone will have to keep an eye on you constantly. If you’re still concerned about Madam, I can have a driver bring you back in the morning!”

Hearing the butler’s advice, Ye’s mother felt that staying would be a burden. Though reluctant, she reluctantly nodded in agreement.

Xiao Bai puffed his cheeks, also unwilling to leave. But he knew better than anyone that staying wouldn’t help find his mother. Moreover, his sister still needed care, and he mustn’t let her stay and catch a cold from the river breeze!

After weighing his options, Xiao Bai finally nodded in agreement to leave.

And so, the butler left with Ye’s mother and Xiao Bai!

The butler first escorted Ye’s mother to her housing complex entrance and only let the driver leave after ensuring she safely entered the complex.

Ye’s mother, lost and dejected, reached her home, took out her key, and had just opened the door when Ye Shan suddenly rushed out, grabbing her hand, smiling as he said, ”Why are you back so late? Where did you go? Do you know how worried I was about you?”

Ye’s mother irritably shrugged off Ye Shan’s hand, expressionlessly saying, ”Don’t touch me; I’m not in a good mood right now, and I’m in no state to speak with you. Disappear from my sight immediately!”

Hearing the thick sobbing in Ye’s mother’s voice, Ye Shan only then noticed her eyes were swollen beyond recognition.

Ye Shan hastily asked with concern, ”What’s wrong? You’ve been crying? What happened?”
