Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 548: Chapter 591: The Way We Once Were

Yan Qinghan hurried to Yan Chuxia’s side, helped her up from the ground, and anxiously checked her condition, ”Oh dear, little one, are you okay? Did it hurt when you fell?”

”It hurts...!” Yan Chuxia’s big round eyes were filled with tears. She extended her palm towards Yan Qinghan while looking pitifully at Xiao Bai.

Seeing the palm of Yan Chuxia’s hand injured, Yan Qinghan blew on it tenderly, ”Oh dear, the skin is broken! See, you shouldn’t have run. Now you’ve hurt yourself! If I had known, I wouldn’t have brought you here!”

”Luckily, I brought some antiseptic. Let me apply some for her!” Guan Nuannuan quickly took a small bottle of antiseptic out of her backpack, then opened the cap, dabbed some on a cotton ball, and carefully applied it to Yan Chuxia’s wound.

For parents like them with kids around, especially when taking children out to play, antiseptic is a must-have! Kids often get minor injuries, which don’t necessarily need a hospital visit, so having a bit of antiseptic solves the problem!

Just then, Ye Anxin arrived with Xiao Bai in tow! Seeing Yan Chuxia’s pitiful and aggrieved expression, Xiao Bai pouted and turned his head as if he hadn’t seen it.

Seeing her son’s cold and aloof demeanor, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but give him a firm tap on the forehead.

”Mom, what are you doing?” Xiao Bai covered his sore head, looking at Ye Anxin with dissatisfaction.

Ye Anxin glared back at him defiantly and said indignantly, ”What do you think? Chuxia is hurt, and you’re not even showing any concern!”

”It’s her own fault. With so many people around, she shouldn’t have been running around!” Xiao Bai mumbled, his words tough, but it wasn’t hard to hear a hint of blame.

Once Yan Chuxia’s wound was treated, Guan Nuannuan put the antiseptic back in her backpack and smiled at Ye Anxin, ”Alright, alright, don’t blame Xiao Bai. It’s Chuxia’s own fault! She’s fine, just a bit of skin broken! She’ll be fine in a couple of days!”

Ye Anxin apologized profusely, ”We came out to have fun, and Chuxia got hurt instead. I feel so sorry!”

Guan Nuannuan laughed and said, ”It’s no problem, truly not Xiao Bai’s fault! Chuxia’s just reckless. She’s often injured, so I’m used to it. That’s why I always carry antiseptic with me when we go out!”

Since Guan Nuannuan said so, Ye Anxin couldn’t say anything more. She just pushed Xiao Bai toward Yan Chuxia, ”Go and comfort Chuxia!”

Xiao Bai blushed and promptly refused, ”No way!”

”You...!” Ye Anxin was exasperated, completely helpless in the face of her son’s proud and aloof demeanor.

Yan Chuxia, on the other hand, who had been pouting, immediately brightened up when she saw Xiao Bai. She let go of her father’s hand and hugged Xiao Bai’s arm excitedly saying, ”Brother Bai, I’ve missed you so much these few days! Let’s go play!”

Xiao Bai blushed even more, withdrew his arm from Yan Chuxia’s grip, tucked his hands into his pockets, and started walking towards the amusement park.

”Brother Bai, wait for me!” Yan Chuxia quickly chased after him with her short little legs, completely forgetting her earlier fall.

”This kid!” Seeing her daughter happily trotting after Xiao Bai, Guan Nuannuan awkwardly smiled at Ye Anxin and quickly followed suit.

By the time Xiao Bai and Yan Chuxia reached the amusement park entrance, Mu Beiting already bought tickets and led them in.

Entering the amusement park, Xiao Bai looked at the familiar things he’d played before, pouted, and sat aside, completely uninterested.

Since Xiao Bai wasn’t playing, Yan Chuxia didn’t play either. She just sat next to him, chattering away trying to find a conversation topic with Xiao Bai.

However, no matter what she said or how excited she was, Xiao Bai sat there coldly, as if he hadn’t heard anything at all.

Ye Anxin and Mu Beiting stood nearby watching this scene, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but pull Mu Beiting closer and whispered, ”Uncle, don’t you think this scene feels familiar?”

”...!” Mu Beiting said nothing, his lips pursed thinly, seemingly not catching on to Ye Anxin’s meaning.

Seeing his silence, Ye Anxin continued, ”Look at Xiao Bai, doesn’t he resemble how Uncle was before? And Chuxia, doesn’t she resemble how I used to be? Back then, I would always talk to Uncle, and he would just sit there quietly, no matter what I said, he wouldn’t open his mouth, keeping a straight face! Seeing Chuxia now, it’s like seeing myself back then! It’s quite nostalgic!”

Mu Beiting frowned, displeased, and asked, ”Was I like that to you before?”

Ye Anxin pouted, ”Of course! Now you know how harsh you were to me back then! Luckily, I’m patient. If I were a bit grumpier, I would’ve given up on you long ago!”

At these words, Mu Beiting suddenly clenched her wrist forcefully, ”How dare you!”

Seeing his worried and displeased expression, Ye Anxin laughed out loud and teased, ”Oh my! I’m just joking! Back then, when Uncle was so cold, I managed to endure the hard days. Now that Uncle is so good to me, how could I bear to leave you!”

Hearing her words, Mu Beiting’s tense facial lines slowly relaxed as he released her wrist, opting to hold her hand instead.

Feeling the warmth radiating from Mu Beiting’s palm, Ye Anxin’s heart was filled with happiness.

At that moment, Guan Nuannuan’s voice sounded from behind them, ”Hey, what are you guys doing standing here? It’s rare for us to come out and play, hurry up and have some fun! I love roller coasters, it’s so thrilling! Is there anyone who wants to join me?”

”I’m going!” To escape the pesky Yan Chuxia, Xiao Bai jumped off the bench and headed towards the roller coaster.

”Me too!” Yan Chuxia quickly followed.

But when they got to the roller coaster, she could only watch Xiao Bai get on while she stood on the side as she didn’t meet the age requirements to ride.

Seeing Yan Chuxia pouting and standing aside angrily glaring at Xiao Bai on the roller coaster, Yan Qinghan squatted down to appease her, ”Baby, see, it’s still Daddy who loves you and is nice to you, staying by your side! Let’s not be fond of Brother Bai, okay?”

Yan Chuxia didn’t even hesitate, saying with a resisting look, ”No! I like Brother Bai the best!”

Yan Qinghan dramatically clutched his left chest over his heart, heartbroken, ”...! Ungrateful girl, after all the love I’ve given you! This is just heartbreaking! My little heart!”

Sitting beside Mu Beiting on a nearby bench, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but shake her head with a smile at the scene, saying to Mu Beiting, ”Uncle, don’t you think Mr. Yan, being such a doting dad, will probably cry his eyes out the day Chuxia actually marries?”
