Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 507: Chapter 550: Sudden Change

Xiao Bai pursed his lips, stubbornly turned his head away, angrily ignoring her!

Ye Anxin didn’t get discouraged. She knew Xiao Bai had a tough exterior but a soft heart. Even though he said he was unhappy, he didn’t really mean it; it was just a child’s tantrum! So she didn’t pay much attention!

Xiao Bai stood by the door until the business car carrying Mu Beiting and Ye Anxin drove away. Only then did he turn around and go inside with the butler!

Since Ye Anxin lived halfway up the mountain and Ling Yueyue in a villa area, and they left home around the same time, Ling Yueyue arrived at Father Ye and Mother Ye’s house before Ye Anxin!

When Ling Yueyue arrived, Father Ye and Mother Ye were cleaning the house, and the groceries they bought were still on the table!

Ling Yueyue handed the gift to Mother Ye and smiled, ”Auntie, I specially bought these health supplements for you and Uncle! These supplements can boost your immunity and prevent some age-related diseases!”

”Oh, you shouldn’t have! But since you’ve brought them, I won’t be polite. I’ll accept them!” After a few courteous words, Mother Ye accepted the gift and placed it on the coffee table!

At this moment, Father Ye came over with a cup of warm water, handed it to Ling Yueyue, and warmly said, ”Yueyue, come sit on the sofa and have some tea! It’s still early, and we’ll tidy up the house first. Once Anxin arrives, we’ll start cooking. The soup is already simmering on the stove, and later, you and Anxin each need to have two big bowls, or it’ll waste your Auntie’s efforts!”

”Thank you, Uncle! Don’t worry, later I’ll make sure Anxin and I each have two big bowls so as not to waste Auntie’s efforts!” Ling Yueyue took the water from Father Ye, took a sip, then placed it on the coffee table. Rolling up her sleeves, she said cheerfully, ”Auntie, Uncle, since I’m sitting here bored, let me help you clean the house! Ever since marrying Mr. Huo, I haven’t done any chores, and I kind of miss it now!”

Mother Ye quickly pushed Ling Yueyue away, shaking her head, ”No, no! You’re a guest; we can’t let you do any work!”

”Auntie, how can I be a guest! You and Uncle watched me grow up, and I already consider this place my own home!” With that, without waiting for Father and Mother Ye to respond, she grabbed a broom and started cleaning.

Mother Ye shook her head helplessly and said nothing more, continuing to clean the house!

Since the house wasn’t very big, cleaning was not hard, and with the three of them working together, it was spotless in no time!

As soon as they finished and sat on the sofa, they heard the sound of a key turning in the door!

The only people with a key to the house were Father Ye, Mother Ye, and Ye Anxin!

Knowing Ye Anxin had arrived, Father Ye didn’t go to open the door. Instead, he went to pour her a glass of water. When Ye Anxin walked in, he guided her to the sofa and handed her the water!

”Thanks, Dad!” Ye Anxin took the warm water from Father Ye, feeling a warmth in her heart!

For twenty-six years, this was the first time her father had poured her a glass of water. It’s quite melancholy; previously, she never really felt what fatherly love was!

For her, her father was merely a facade! Apart from burdening them and leaving them with a pile of unpayable high-interest debt, they hadn’t felt anything else from him!

Today, seeing her father pour her water, Ye Anxin felt both gratified and touched!

After drinking the tea and placing the cup on the table, Mother Ye took her hand and gently said, ”We’ve just finished tidying up the house. Let’s rest for a bit. The soup is already simmering on the stove; later, we’ll just need to stir-fry a few dishes you love and then eat. It won’t take long!”

Ye Anxin shook her head, casually saying, ”No worries, I just had breakfast, and I’m not hungry yet!”

Ling Yueyue laughed, ”Anxin, I promised Uncle earlier that I’d make you drink two big bowls of soup, so you’d better behave later and not let me break my promise, okay?”

Ye Anxin nodded without hesitation, filled with happiness, ”No problem, I love my mom’s soup the most. Two big bowls are a must!”

Listening to their conversation, Father Ye, sitting on the other sofa, couldn’t help but smile, though a hint of coldness flashed deep in his eyes!

Unfortunately, Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue, who were chatting happily, didn’t notice and continued their merry conversation!

At half-past ten, Mother Ye put on her apron and went into the kitchen to prepare food!

Originally, Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue wanted to help, but Mother Ye made them sit on the sofa and watch TV!

Having no choice, they obediently sat on the sofa, watching TV and chatting with Father Ye!

Father Ye chatted for a while, then, worried about Mother Ye, went into the kitchen to help!

Seeing Father Ye go into the kitchen, Ling Yueyue couldn’t help but whisper to Ye Anxin, ”Hey, Uncle has really changed! It’s like he’s a different person! Did something happen before?”

Ye Anxin shot her a playful look, ”Isn’t my dad’s change a good thing?”

Ling Yueyue propped her chin on her hands, her fingers tapping rhythmically, pondering, ”Of course it’s a good thing! You have no idea—I felt so uneasy at first when he changed! Now that I’m used to it, it’s alright. Just, I can’t figure out why Uncle changed so much so suddenly!”

Ye Anxin poked Ling Yueyue’s forehead with her finger, ”You’re just always overthinking stuff!”

Ling Yueyue rubbed the spot where Ye Anxin poked her, complaining, ”That hurt, you know!”

Ye Anxin tilted her chin up, saying deliberately, ”I meant to do that!”

”You little brat, watch how I get you!” Saying this, she blew on her hand and reached out to tickle Ye Anxin’s slender waist!

”Ah... it tickles, stop...!” As Ye Anxin screeched, the two of them tangled together on the sofa!

Father Ye and Mother Ye were busy with lunch in the kitchen, while Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue played joyfully outside!

One and a half hours later, Father Ye brought out the dishes to the dining table one by one and called out with a smile, ”Alright, stop messing around and wash your hands for lunch!”

”Okay, coming!” Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue responded in unison, and the two, who were tangled up, finally separated, rushing eagerly to the bathroom!

This was their mode of interaction. They’d been boisterously playing since they were little, but it never affected their bond!

After washing their hands, they sat around the dining table in the seats they’d always used since childhood!

By the time they sat, Father Ye had already placed all the dishes on the table and served them each a bowl of rice, ”Come, come, let’s have the meal!”

”Thanks, Dad!”

”Thanks, Uncle!” Ye Anxin and Ling Yueyue smiled and thanked him simultaneously, then dug in without hesitation.
