Journey to Planar World

In a dazed, semi-conscious state, Charlie faintly heard a very familiar voice echoing in his ears.

”Aaaaa! Welcome back, my beloved Saviors~! My, my, my, look who has gathered here today!”

”How are you all doing? Did the last Quest feel fun? Or was it boring instead?”

”Eh, wait, I just tried a new astral flower tea recipe this morning, it tastes absolutely amazing! You guys definitely have to try it next time, okay?”

”Oh right, don’t forget to smile today, because spreading positive energy is very important to keep the order of the universe from quickly going dull and rotting away! Hehehe~!”

The long, cheerful chatter of a girl endlessly talking about trivial things slowly pulled Charlie’s consciousness back.

Charlie gradually opened his eyes. As his blurry vision refocused, his eyes immediately fell upon two figures of young girls standing at the center of the room, possessing an matchless beauty that transcended the very concept of beauty itself.

Who else could they be if not the big bosses of the Saviors—Gaia and Alaya?

Naturally, the figure who had just spoken with high enthusiasm and exploding energy was Gaia.

Meanwhile, Alaya, who stood right beside her, merely crossed both arms in front of her chest, wearing her usual cold, utterly indifferent expression, as if treating her partner’s fuss as mere wind passing by.

Charlie’s brows furrowed. He truly hadn’t expected to be suddenly summoned back to the Void Sanctuary this early, considering his rest and downtime since completing the last Quest could still be said to be very short.

While adjusting his sitting posture on the chair marked with the Roman numeral VI (Six), he began sweeping his gaze around the giant round table to observe the other Saviors present.

However, the very next second, his pupils shrank drastically as he counted the number of people inside the room.

Out of the total ten chairs surrounding the table... there were now two chairs that appeared empty without occupants.

All this time, everyone had known that chair number VII (Seven)—which was once occupied by Thomas Taylor with the Kirigaya Kazuto template—had indeed long been vacant because the man had died tragically in a high-risk Quest.

Yet today, a second empty chair had been created.

It was the chair numbered I (One)—the chair belonging to Farah Nadia, who held the Tsukuyomi Tsukasa template.

Even though Charlie himself almost never interacted personally with that woman nor embarked on Quests together in the same Planar World, he held a bit of a unique impression regarding the figure of Nadia.

After all, Nadia came from Malaysia.

For those who understood, they would immediately comprehend the meaning behind the slight ripple in Charlie’s mind.

The relationship between Indonesians and Malaysians on the internet as well as in the real world was indeed sometimes like cats and dogs—there was always a small rivalry and a unique mutual teasing, yet unconsciously creating a familiar sense of cultural belonging.

And now, the disappearance of Nadia’s figure pointed to only one bitter truth for the remaining Saviors.

”Perhaps... most of you can already guess it just by looking at that empty chair.” Gaia spoke with a somewhat dim voice, losing her usual cheerful tone. ”But I still have to say it officially. We have bad news... One of our very precious Saviors, Farah Nadia, has been killed in the world where she reincarnated.”

”...”

Instantly, the atmosphere inside the Void Sanctuary fell into a terrifying silence.

Charlie, along with the other seven remaining Saviors in the room, gasped in shock.

Even though the disappearance of the Savior in chair number one had already given a bad signal, hearing direct confirmation from the mouth of their boss still dealt a heavy emotional blow.

In the middle of the pressing silence, the figure of the man in chair number IX (Nine)—Frank Günther, the smartest Savior whose cycles of intelligence were absolutely acknowledged by Gaia and Alaya—slowly raised his hand.

”Gaia... could you provide a detailed explanation regarding what Farah Nadia actually experienced that led to her death?” Frank asked in a calm yet sharp tone. ”Information regarding the cause of her fall will be very useful for those of us still alive as a reference and evaluation material, so that we do not repeat the same mistake.”

Alaya, who since the beginning of the call had merely stood frozen like a statue, finally spoke up.

”Farah Nadia’s death... was merely a form of bad luck. That is all.” Her words were brief and cold, with no intention of divulging further chronology.

Hearing that super stingy response, Charlie and Wang Jian, who sat beside him, exchanged confused glances with each other.

The other Saviors displayed similar reactions; Alaya’s explanation did not answer their question in the slightest.

Seeing that, Gaia puffed out her cheeks in annoyance, then nudged Alaya’s elbow with her own.

”Geez! Alaya! If you’re lazy and don’t want to explain, fine then, just let me do it! Your explanation earlier was practically the same as saying nothing at all, you know!”

”Hmph!”

Alaya simply turned her face away coldly, not intending to refute her partner’s scolding at all.

Gaia cleared her throat softly, then stood straight with both hands resting on her hips.

”Ahem! Alright, listen to me carefully. To explain the chronology, all of you first need to know the identity of the main perpetrator who killed Nadia.”

The eight remaining Saviors immediately assumed upright postures and listened very seriously.

”Nadia’s death was caused by the Last Boss of the Arifureta Planar World—a figure named Ehitruje, or more commonly known as Ehit.”

”Ehit is a figure worshipped as the guardian god of humanity in Tortus. However, even though he is revered as a god, he is actually not a true god, but rather a former human from another world who managed to attain immortality and extraordinarily immense power.”

Gaia let out a soft sigh before speaking again.

”To Ehit, that world along with all the living beings inside it—whether humans, demons, or Demi-Humans—are nothing more than a chessboard and playthings to entertain his bored self.”

”He intentionally created an eternal conflict and war in that world solely to enjoy their suffering and despair.”

”In fact, he was the one who deliberately summoned a class of protagonists from Japan to that world just to be used as new pawns in his manufactured game of fate.”

Gaia paused her sentence for a moment, looking at the Saviors one by one.

”Nadia’s mistake was... she was extremely unlucky to accidentally cross paths with an Apostle sent by Ehit to handle that protagonist group.”

”Of course, with Nadia’s combat power and the immortality from the Tsukuyomi Tsukasa template she possessed, Nadia managed to defeat that Apostle.”

The expression on Gaia’s face turned even darker.

”But... that victory actually drew Ehit’s personal attention. Especially when Ehit realized that Nadia possessed a type of immortality that was far more perfect and flawless compared to his own artificial immortality. Without hesitation, Ehit personally stepped in.”

”Obviously, as the main antagonist in that world, even in her fully prepared state, Nadia was no match for Ehit.”

”As a result, Nadia lost the fight, was captured alive, and was made into a horrific experiment subject in Ehit’s secret laboratory...”

Gaia intentionally cut short the details of the experiment section because it was deemed far too cruel and inhumane to elaborate upon.

”In the end, instead of successfully replicating and absorbing Nadia’s immortality, Ehit’s mad experiment accidentally created an anti-immortality technique instead.”

”At the peak of his frustrated rage over failing to steal that immortality, Ehit accidentally activated that technique and ended Nadia’s life permanently. So... that was the tragic end of Farah Nadia’s life.”
