Journey to Planar World

The next morning arrived in silence.

The snow outside the window was still falling slowly, piling up thicker and thicker on the rooftops of Nagoro Village.

Inside the kitchen of his new house, Charlie was busy preparing breakfast.

His Space-Time Cache held an abundant supply of food ingredients, so he did not have to worry about starving to death.

However, even though his current activity was called cooking, he was actually only heating up several packages of instant frozen food that he took from his storage space.

Whenever his laziness kicked in like this, Charlie would casually follow an American-style diet which tended to rely on frozen food for its practicality.

After finishing a breakfast that tasted bland and was clearly not as delicious as Mahiru’s cooking, Charlie walked to the living room.

He threw his body onto a dusty sofa he had cleaned yesterday, then activated Senrigan.

Instantly, his consciousness expanded. From a third-person perspective floating in the air, the visual inside his mind immediately saw the figure of Mahiru in their previous house.

The girl appeared to have started her activities since morning.

However, when observed more closely, Charlie could see that Mahiru’s movements looked awkward. She would often suddenly stand still in the middle of the room and show a facial expression filled with confusion.

”Haaah... Even though the God’s Law has erased my existence from her memories, Mahiru’s body and instincts still seem to feel a lot of inconsistencies around her.” Charlie murmured as he stared at Mahiru, who was frequently in a daze.

The girl must feel it was strange why there was an extra dirty plate, why there was a food portion that felt odd, or why her heart was constantly gnawed by a sense of emptiness without cause.

After ensuring that the heroine was doing fine and not in any danger, Charlie chose to deactivate his Senrigan.

His gaze returned to the quiet living room.

Exhaling a long breath, he then took off his shirt and retrieved a sheet of blank parchment from the Space-Time Cache.

Using his control of Wind Spirit Art, he pressed the parchment against his broad back to copy the details of his Status, which had been updated to Level 7 yesterday.

After all, yesterday he had not had the chance at all to see the changes in his parameters after that dramatic level-up process, because his focus had been immediately split by Mahiru’s memory loss issue, which ended with him being kicked out under the threat of a kitchen knife.

Every time an adventurer levels up in the Falna system, all of their basic attribute stats—Strength, Endurance, Dexterity, Agility, and Magic Power—will be reset back to rank I (0). However, this reset does not mean the adventurer’s strength shrinks to be as weak as a beginner. When the status is reset, the accumulated numbers from the previous level do not simply disappear, but are locked and permanently embedded into the blueprint of the adventurer’s soul as a foundation of unseen latent strength.

Charlie pulled the parchment from his back and began reading the details of the numbers written there.

”Hmm... no new Development Abilities awakened this time, huh?” Charlie murmured after examining the sheet. He then shook his head with a slight smile. ”Oh well, I shouldn’t be greedy. I already have five Development Abilities at my current age. Goddess Hera also explained back then that Development Abilities do not always appear every time an adventurer succeeds in leveling up. I must know when to be grateful.”

Charlie’s gaze then shifted to the bottom of the parchment, looking at the list of his passive and active abilities. ”Just look at this row of my Skills. There are fourteen Skills in total! As I recall, in Orario, the owner of the most Skills is held by the captain of Loki Familia, Finn Deimne, and even then, the amount is only five Skills.”

That absolute comparison instantly made Charlie’s mood much better, curing his disappointment of not getting a new development ability. He now focused his entire attention on the single newest golden Skill he had just obtained after setting foot into Level 7.

Charlie pulled the parchment from his back and began reading the details of the numbers written there.

[Annihilation Divine Authority]

A power that erases all threats to the world, to protect the world.

A hide that rejects magic power.

Charlie read the brief description written on the parchment. The next second, a gleam of deep astonishment shone from his eyes.

”Incredible... So the passive effect is a hide that rejects magic?” He said in a tone of wonder that could not be hidden. ”This means I have practically become immune to all forms of magic-based attacks.”

”Unless the magic cast by the enemy possesses a raw level of power stronger than this Dragon King’s Divine Authority, I am the antithesis to all Mages, Wizards, and Witches out there!”

He leaned his back against the sofa while continuing to analyze.

”With this kind of defensive capability, perhaps only magic cast directly by the gods can still have an impact on me. And even then, the damage effect will certainly be drastically weakened by my hide.”

”No matter how I look at it, the True God in the world of Seirei Gensouki is indeed far stronger because he is the sole creator entity, in stark contrast to the gods in Danmachi who are numerous and share power.”

Except for Saitama, it felt as though there was not a single living creature in this universe who would not be happy over an increase in strength. Charlie, of course, was no exception.

He stared at the parchment in his hand with a gleam of deep satisfaction.

”Technically, right now the strongest adventurer in Orario, Ottar of Freya Familia, and I already share the same status, which is Level 7.”

”However, if we were to truly be pitted against each other in a battle now, I am highly confident I could defeat him without any meaningful resistance. In fact, even when I was still at Level 6 yesterday, I wouldn’t have had any trouble bringing down Freya’s number one love slave.”

Charlie recalled the past.

”When I was still at Level 5, I must admit that Ottar was indeed stronger than me, but that was only by a thin margin.”

”Of course, the fact regarding this leap of my strength is not known by anyone in Orario, be it by fellow combat adventurers or by the entertainment-starved gods. Even if I went back there and blurted this out frankly, they would surely only think I was boasting and exaggerating myself.”

”Well, that is a normal thing for them. Their view is too narrow due to their lack of insight about the outside world.”

”Just because you do not know about the existence of a power beyond reason, does not mean it does not exist.”

Charlie could already imagine very clearly how noisy and uproarious the entire City of Orario would be once he reported that he was already Level 7.

However, unlike the previous times where he still had to keep a low profile, the current Charlie had transformed into a Transcendent.

With his new strength, he would not be daunted at all even if he had to face the gods directly releasing their Arcanum seals in the lower world, let alone facing a mere group of mortal adventurers intending to look for trouble with him.

This was the shift in mindset brought when someone had grasped a power capable of turning the world upside down!
