Journey to Planar World

Dozens of AK-47 rifles traded fire with two individuals holding only handguns, yet strangely, the gunmen gained no advantage whatsoever.

The primary cause was that their opponents were simply too abnormal. They could evade bullets—who could possibly face something like that?

Seeing that their ammunition was spent, Chisato and Ryunosuke immediately tossed their pistols aside and drew their daggers, bracing for close-quarters combat.

Even though the opposing side continued to fire blindly, the two moved as if walking through an empty void, completely disregarding the hail of bullets as a threat. With just a tilt of the head, a few steps back, or a twist of the torso, they successfully evaded every shot.

The dozens of terrorists across from them finally reached their breaking point and began cursing crudely.

”Dammit! Can you even call this a fight? This is cheating!!!”

It was like dozens of novice players encountering the top two ranked players on the entire server. Although their equipment was superior to that of the top two, the vast chasm in technique meant that not a single one of their shots connected.

Consequently, the dozens of terrorists were utterly slaughtered. They all lay sprawled on the floor in a dying state, clinging to their last breaths.

This was actually the result of Chisato holding back; had she not, they would have been dead long ago.

Chisato clapped her hands together, signaling that the job was done, then turned to face Ryunosuke behind her while flashing a ”Peace” sign with her fingers.

Ryunosuke returned the same gesture, and the two shared a high-five as a sign that they could soon head home from work.

Shino, who had just reached the top floor, muttered snidely.

”You two are so perfectly in sync, it’s a pity you don’t just get married on the spot.”

Takina had also finished off the enemies on the lower floors and made her way up. She didn’t quite understand such matters; to her, if getting married was part of the mission, she wouldn’t mind doing it as long as it meant completing the task.

Takina was indeed slightly lacking in common knowledge. Particularly within the Lycoris agent unit, such ”useless” knowledge was deemed unnecessary; the most important thing was mission completion.

Takina was not an intentionally ”ice-cold beauty”; her flat expression was purely due to a lack of understanding regarding normal human interaction, which caused a barrier in expressing emotions, not because she was slow-witted.

On the roof of the building, a terrorist who had not yet lost consciousness quietly pressed a button.

*BOOM!*

The ground floor instantly exploded.

Though Chisato immediately kicked him unconscious to prevent him from detonating other floors, it was already too late. The support pillars below had been blown apart; the building would collapse sooner or later, and they were currently on the 12th floor. Jumping to save themselves seemed impossible, as they were only ordinary humans and did not possess extraordinary physical resilience like Hanma Yujiro.

Fortunately, they had evacuated the masses from the start, so there were no unnecessary casualties.

Now, only the four of them remained on the roof. Chisato spread her arms and shrugged her shoulders helplessly.

”We have to find our own way out. If we wait for backup, we’ll be turned into mush first.”

”That’s true. If we contact headquarters for assistance now, it will take at least 5 minutes to arrive. It doesn’t seem like this floor will hold until then.” Takina analyzed very calmly.

Ryunosuke looked up at the sky and said with deep feeling, ”The moon is truly round tonight.”

Shino held her head with both hands, feeling nearly frustrated. (Just what kind of people are these three teammates of mine?! Not a single one of them is normal! Even in a situation like this, they don’t feel a shred of tension!)

Ryunosuke said to the three of them: ”This humble one has a plan; I wonder if these three beautiful ladies would be willing to try it with me?”

Shino, Takina, and Chisato turned at the same time and asked in unison, ”What plan?”

Without further ado, Ryunosuke stepped one foot onto the 12th-floor balcony. ”Jumping from here.”

”What did you say?! (x3)”

The three were instantly shocked, thinking Ryunosuke had gone mad.

Ryunosuke didn’t offer much explanation; he wrapped his arm around Chisato’s waist and jumped straight down.

Initially, while in mid-air, Chisato didn’t realize what was happening. Once her somewhat slow brain processed the consequences, she immediately let out a terrified scream.

”Aaa! Don’t!”

Despite being in a free-fall, Chisato did not forget to hold down her skirt with both hands so she wouldn’t be exposed to the people below.

Ryunosuke, who was also free-falling beside her, commented with a flat face, ”Aren’t you wearing safety shorts? What are you afraid of?”

”Just die!” Chisato threw a punch at his face. She was truly panicking now; how could she have guessed Ryunosuke would take her along to jump off a building!

Ryunosuke wrapped his arm around her waist again without her consent.

”What are you doing?!”

”Even in a situation like this, you still find the time to take liberties!”

Ryunosuke stated that this was a way to save themselves, then utilized the Heaven and Earth Great Shift technique to neutralize the gravitational force of the fall.

As they nearly reached the ground, while holding the girl in his embrace, Ryunosuke spun rapidly in the air several times and landed stably.

In Ryunosuke’s arms, Chisato blinked her large, beautiful eyes, as if she hadn’t fully regained her senses. Then her eyes suddenly sparkled with excitement as she said to him:

”What was that just now?!”

Ryunosuke was forced to answer her patiently.

”Heaven and Earth Great Shift. Think of it as a type of martial art.”

He set Chisato down from his embrace.

He had actually only wanted to see if the technique would work, and it turned out to be a success. With his current stamina, if he used the powers of the Five Great Experts from Jin Yong’s works, he could likely only last for about 3 minutes.

It wasn’t that there was a magic limit, but rather his physique and stamina could only withstand that burden for 3 minutes. After all, the energy consumed was still his own; it was like your MP bar being only 20—you might be able to unleash a power level of 10 or 20, but you could perhaps only use it once or twice.

Ryunosuke did not want to waste any more time; he signaled to the two still at the top to jump.

Chisato cupped her hands around her mouth like a funnel and shouted loudly from below the building.

”Don’t worry! It doesn’t hurt at all!”

Takina and Shino looked at each other, then jumped from the building without hesitation.

A powerful internal energy flooded Ryunosuke’s entire body. He utilized the Zhang Wuji version of the Heaven and Earth Great Shift, so naturally, there was an added surge of internal force in his body.

He could feel his stamina draining extremely quickly; he could not delay.

Ryunosuke unleashed the seventh level of the Heaven and Earth Great Shift, then performed the movement of the left foot stepping on the right—using the Wudang Tiyun Zong technique—and soared upward using lightness skills. He caught both of them, one in each arm, then used the Heaven and Earth Great Shift to neutralize all their falling force. Fearing they might be injured upon impact, he nimbly tossed both of them slightly upward near the ground while he landed first.

The floor tiles beneath his feet shattered into pieces from bearing the immense weight of the fall.

Ryunosuke rotated his arms and caught the two girls again as they descended slowly, finally nullifying all the falling force until they were not injured in the slightest.

Ryunosuke immediately released them once they touched the ground, having no intention of taking any further liberties.

The building behind them collapsed completely. Had they been even one second late in jumping, they might have died buried under the ruins.
