Journey to Planar World

As if his mocking laughter were not enough, Dionysus continued his ridicule with complete satisfaction, looking at Charlie as if the young man before him were the most comical jester he had ever encountered.

”True death?” Dionysus shook his head while puffing out his chest, emanating the arrogance of a higher being. ”You truly overestimate yourself far too much, Charlie Avalon! Know your limits as a mortal! We gods are supreme existences that transcend the very concept of death itself!”

”To us, this Lower World is nothing more than a performance stage, and mortals like you are nothing more than a means of entertainment to fill our boring eternity!”

He curled his lips into a sneering smile laden with indifference.

”Why do you think we share Falna with you? Merely because we took pity on you! If you were too weak and the monsters in the Dungeon dominated completely unopposed, this game would become utterly boring! You exist only to entertain us!”

”...”

Inside Charlie’s mind, Est’s soft whisper echoed with a tone suppressing a rare anger she seldom showed.

(Onii-chan... I really dislike seeing this arrogant god mock you. Please teach him an unforgettable lesson... Show him that everything Onii-chan said is the absolute truth.)

Charlie wore a subtle smile in his mind, offering a response to calm Est down.

(Calm down, Est. There’s no need to ruin your mood by getting angry at a target who will soon vanish forever.)

”...”

Dionysus was, of course, completely unaware of the mental conversation taking place between Charlie and Est.

Chuckling softly, Dionysus raised his hand to wipe a tear from the corner of his eye that had escaped from laughing so hard.

”Aah... how hilarious. It’s been a long time since I laughed out loud like this.’ He looked at Charlie with a contemptuous gaze. ”Well then, ’Solo Leveling,’ if you truly intend to give me ’true death,’ show me how you plan to do it!”

”Mm. With pleasure.”

Since Dionysus was begging for death himself, there was no longer any reason for Charlie to delay it.

*WHOOSH!*

With his Arcanum sealed, Dionysus’s current physical condition was no different from that of an ordinary human. His eyes didn’t even have time to blink, let alone track the movement of Charlie, who closed the entire distance between them in the blink of an eye.

*PUCHI!*

The blade of the Sacred Sword Severian pierced precisely through the left side of Dionysus’s chest, stabbing his heart until the silver tip protruded from behind his back.

”You... *Cough! Cough!*...”

Dionysus’s eyes widened, staring in disbelief at Charlie’s face, which was only a few inches away from his own.

”B-Behind your innocent expression that seems harmless to humans and animals... you actually... act so decisively and without mercy...”

An unbearable pain exploded inside his chest, causing Dionysus to vomit thick, fresh blood.

Even so, with the remaining scraps of his consciousness, Dionysus formed a sneering, spiteful smirk.

”Heh... Hahaha! You... you actually dared to violate this taboo, Solo Leveling... No, Charlie Avalon!”

”Just wait... just wait for the terrifying consequences that await you!”

”However... what a absolute shame... The grand plan I had meticulously laid out for decades... had to fall apart completely just because of an irregular factor like you...”

Dionysus gritted his blood-soaked teeth, spitting out his final curse.

”Hera... that damn woman! Even though she was successfully banished from Orario... even from a distance, her follower still stands as my main obstacle to ruining the order of this world!”

After venting all the anger and words he wished to spout, Dionysus felt his vitality plummet sharply like a collapsing dam.

His consciousness slowly faded, yet behind that pain, he remained calm in facing death.

According to the rules of the Lower World, as soon as a god’s mortal body was destroyed or killed, their Arcanum would automatically heal all fatal wounds and forcibly pull the god back to Heaven.

To Dionysus, this was merely the end of his game in the Lower World, not the end of his life.

Dionysus’s body began radiating a brilliant glow of light that grew increasingly larger—a sign of the Arcanum activating to restore his physical body and pull his soul back to Heaven.

However, before that glow could explode into a magnificent pillar of light shooting through the surface of Orario, Charlie did not allow a single bit of the other party’s plan to proceed as desired.

”Thinking of escaping to Heaven? It won’t be that easy.’ He stared straight into Dionysus’s pupils. ”Just as I told you earlier... I am going to give you true death, God Dionysus.”

”What are you—”

Dionysus was about to spout his final taunt, but the words suddenly caught in his throat.

His handsome facial expression shifted drastically into something terrifying.

A freezing chill crept down his entire spine as he felt the pressure of a divine, sacred, and ancient aura suddenly explode, enveloping Charlie’s body!

”D-Divinity...?! H-How is this possible?!” Dionysus’s voice shrieked in panic, his eyes bulging nearly out of their sockets. ”You... you are a mortal! You are just an ordinary human! Where did this kind of divinity come from?! This makes no sense! You are not a god! It is impossible for a human to possess such a essence of existence!!”

Charlie curled his lips into a subtle, exceedingly cold smile. ”You’re right. I am indeed not a god like you guys...”

”Then what...?! What on earth are you?!” Dionysus screamed hysterically.

”...I am a Transcendent.”

”Transcendent...???”

The unfamiliar term echoed loudly in Dionysus’s ears, triggering a sense of alienation and confusion.

Charlie had no intention of explaining in further detail what a Transcendent was.

In essence, he did not possess the villainous hobby found in cliché stories of enjoying stalling for time by doling out lengthy explanations in front of his enemies.

This time, however, was an exception; he had deliberately leaked this detail merely to plunge Dionysus into the deepest abyss of despair before erasing his existence.

*BUZZ!*

Instantly, the surge of power from the Divine Authority of the Dragon King—Annihilation—exploded, enveloping the entire blade of the Sacred Sword Severian still impaled in Dionysus’s chest.

The glowing Arcanum light belonging to Dionysus that had been moving to cover his body suddenly trembled violently, dimming unnaturally until it finally shattered, decomposing into particles of nothingness!

”M-My Arcanum...?! My Arcanum is gone?! Erased?!” Dionysus screamed in utter panic.

For the first time in hundreds of millions of years of immortal life, the fear of true death crept into his soul.

”W-What did you do to my divine power?! Give it back! Stop this, Charlie Avalon!”

In the madness of his terror, Dionysus attempted to resist.

Both of his blood-stained hands clawed at Charlie’s shoulders and arms, trying to push the young man away with all his might to free himself.

However, with the power gap between their physical strength being as vast as heaven and earth, all of Dionysus’s efforts had no effect whatsoever.

His limp body, impaled on the Sacred Sword Severian, was utterly helpless to escape, hanging tragically like skewered meat in the darkness of the Knossos corridor.
