Journey to Planar World

December 25 — 11:30 AM.

Charlie sat alone on the traditional wooden veranda that faced directly toward the courtyard, which was covered in thick snow.

A winter wind that blew fiercely brought freezing temperatures that cut to the bone, yet that extreme weather did not affect Charlie’s body in the slightest.

He remained relaxed, sitting despite only wearing thin, minimal clothes.

In another corner of the house, precisely inside the bathroom, the faint splattering of warm water could be heard.

Mahiru was cleaning herself and washing her body after the ’farming’ session they had just finished not long ago.

”Haaah...”

A thick puff of white vapor escaped Charlie’s mouth as he let out a long breath.

The expression on the white-haired youth’s face gradually radiated a deep yearning.

”This quest really doesn’t have a clear time limit.” Charlie muttered softly to himself, staring blankly at the falling snowflakes. ”As long as the Abyssal Devourer hasn’t been eliminated, Elena and I will continue to be trapped in this world for an indefinite timeframe... I’m starting to miss the people on that side. Aishia, Est, Kei, Ais... even Goddess Astraea.”

One by one, the mental images of the beautiful faces and smiles of the figures of the girls who inhabited the Empyrean Citadel in the Planar World of Danmachi flashed vividly through Charlie’s mind, triggering a warm yet hollow feeling in his chest.

”It’s true that it has only been half a year since I lived in this world. This duration isn’t even half of it compared to my previous long quest.”

”However, at that time, I was always accompanied by Est and Aishia by my side, so I never felt lonely.”

”It’s not that Mahiru’s current presence is less precious than theirs, absolutely not... it’s just that it feels like a part of myself remains incomplete without their existence around me.”

”Should I summon Aishia and Est here right now? With the Spirit Contractor Magic that I possess, doing that isn’t a difficult matter.”

However, the moment he thought of that solution, Charlie immediately shook his head and instantly rejected the idea.

”Ah, I can’t. I know very well how jealous Mahiru gets.” He gave a wry smile. ”If I suddenly summoned Aishia and Est here, that girl’s mood would guaranteed worsen drastically right away. At the very least, I want all of my time in this world to be exclusive only for Mahiru alone.”

Looking up, Charlie stared at the expanse of the cloudy gray sky that still continued to drop snow without end. He let out a long breath once again for the umpteenth time.

”Whether it’s Senrigan or the various other tracking abilities that I possess, not a single one is useful to detect or determine the exact hiding location of that damn Abyssal Devourer.” He complained with a tone of frustration. ”That creature is good at hiding. If it weren’t, we Saviors wouldn’t be forced into a passive position and can only wait like this.”

”...”

Charlie briefly tried closing his eyes to meditate in the midst of the silence of the snow, but that effort still failed because he suddenly felt bored.

Staying still without doing anything was not his style.

”By the way, it’s been a very long time since I updated my status. Alright, let’s try checking it.”

Driven by a strong curiosity, Charlie immediately moved his consciousness to pull out a small glass bottle filled with the blood of Goddess Hera from his spatial storage space—the Space-Time Cache.

Paying no mind to the gust of wind in the midst of the freezing winter blanketing Nagoro, Charlie directly took off his shirt.

That action instantly exposed his perfect body; a brawny, solidly sculpted chest and aesthetically carved abdominal muscles, the kind of physical proportion capable of making any woman feel her womb heat up in an instant if she saw it and want to breed with him.

With practiced movements, Charlie dripped a drop of Hera’s blood onto his forehead, then activated his special skill: The Chosen Savior.

*BUZZ!*

At that exact moment, the Falna that manifested like a tattoo on his back began to glow brightly.

The Sacred Text that was only understood by the gods moved actively and underwent a structural change.

Not long after, the radiance of light gradually dimmed, indicating that the status update process was complete.

”Eh...? It seems the increase is far greater than I imagined.”

Charlie was mesmerized as he felt the flow of power inside his body suddenly surge drastically.

To prove that the sensation was not a mere hallucination, he took a sheet of blank parchment.

*SHUA!*

Using Wind Spirit Art, he controlled the parchment so that it pressed against his back to copy all the details of his latest status.

After it was finished, he pulled it back to the front of his chest to read.

”Hisss...”

Seeing the insane surge in the statistics of each of his basic parameters, which currently all broke through the boundaries of reasonableness toward the EX rank, Charlie inhaled the cold winter air with a shocked expression on his face.

”Why did it turn out like this?” He murmured in disbelief.

While staring at that row of thousands digits, he began to rack his brain searching for a rational explanation.

”Since the last time I updated my status before being stranded here, I haven’t even been involved much in big fights, right?”

”Sure, after I woke up from my coma, I did happen to finish off all the enemies who dared to attack my place of residence. But... defeating small-fry like that shouldn’t be enough yet to explain the acquisition of this much accumulated Excelia.”

Undeniably, Charlie stood frozen on the veranda with a furrowed brow, truly left bewildered by the anomaly of his status growth that surged without any clear logic.
