Journey to Planar World

For a moment, Charlie felt his mind suddenly go completely blank.

His head felt so empty as he was forced to reject the bitter reality he had just witnessed through the Senrigan.

How could the Sword Princess Ais Wallenstein—one of the few strongest and most renowned Level 6 adventurers—simply die like that without triggering even the slightest ripple throughout all of Orario?

Mahiru, seeing the drastic change on Charlie’s face, immediately held and gently shook the youth’s shoulders with a worried expression.

”Charlie-kun! Your face is so pale... What actually happened?!”

On the other hand, Est said nothing at all.

Her small face remained as flat and devoid of emotion as usual. However, the tight grasp of her tiny fingers squeezing Charlie’s hand stood as clear proof of her deep sympathy and care.

”Phew...”

Charlie closed his eyes briefly, swallowing the bitterness that blocked his throat, then slowly opened his eyes and forced a smile—a smile that looked far uglier than crying.

”Mahiru... Est... I’m sorry. Our date has to end right here. I have an extremely urgent matter that can no longer be delayed.”

Mahiru quickly shook her head. ”It’s fine, Charlie-kun! You don’t need to apologize at all! Go and take care of that problem right now, I completely understand!”

Charlie then turned and stared deeply at Est. ”Est... I am entrusting Mahiru to you. Please escort Mahiru back to the inn safely.”

”Even though Orario has members of the Ganesha Familia routinely patrolling, that by no means guarantees this city is free from crime. At the center of this world, where people with superpowers far surpassing ordinary people gather, good people and bad people are thoroughly mixed together. It’s better for us to be cautious than to regret it later.”

Those words from Charlie were by no means mere bluffs or empty talk to scare them.

The case that had befallen Anna—who was forcibly taken and nearly sold due to a debt trap set up by her father’s greedy businessman who lusted after her beauty—was merely one of many dark examples in this city.

In fact, quite a few beautiful girls from outside Orario were kidnapped and illegally sold as courtesans in the Entertainment District.

Not to mention the Daedalus Street area, a slum region that could be called a lawless zone because the reach of the Ganesha Familia’s patrols almost never touched the place.

”Um.”

Est looked up, nodding her head with a deeply serious expression.

”Leave it to me, Onii-chan. I guarantee Mahiru will arrive home safely. If any bad people dare to mess around... I will slice their bodies into several pieces.”

”Thank you, Est.” Charlie looked at Mahiru once more with a gaze filled with guilt. ”Mahiru, I’m heading off now.”

Without wasting time, he activated the Hundred Gauntlets. He replicated a teleportation effect by directly manipulating causality—bypassing the distance and physical movement process (cause) to instantly bring himself to the target location (effect).

*SHUA!*

The next second, Charlie’s body vanished abruptly from where he stood, leaving behind a subtle glow that evaporated into the air.

That instantaneous act of disappearance immediately shocked the pedestrians around them, making the people who witnessed a phenomenon beyond imagination stare wide-eyed in sheer astonishment.

◆━⊰✿✧✿⊱━◆

13 kilometers outside Orario City, amidst the dense foliage of a thick forest, Charlie’s figure suddenly emerged from thin air. However, before he could take a step, his pupils shrank sharply.

In front of him, Ais’s lifeless body hung limp in the air, entangled by plant tendrils tightly coiled around her beautiful neck. Her skin, usually blushing white, was now deathly pale without a single gleam of life.

Only a few seconds later, a cluster of Garouz—plant-type monsters with wildly extending tendrils—sensed the presence of a new human. With a terrifying writhing movement, those sharp tendrils shot out rapidly from behind the trees, charging toward Charlie from all directions.

Charlie did not even turn a single glance toward Ais’s figure. His face was as dark as charcoal as he waved his hand with complete nonchalance.

”Begone!”

In a mood that sat at its absolute worst, Charlie deployed the Divine Authority of the Dragon King—Annihilation.

*BUZZ!*

That power of absolute destructive causality swept through the surroundings instantly.

In an instant, the entire Garouz population across the entire 30-square-kilometer forest vanished, reduced to total nothingness without leaving behind even a speck of dust.

The moment the plant tendrils holding Ais’s body disintegrated and evaporated, Charlie darted forward rapidly to catch the girl’s corpse as it fell to the ground, holding her with extreme care.

”How could this be...” he muttered with trembling lips, squeezing Ais’s cold fingers. ”How could an adventurer as strong as Ais... a Level 6 adventurer nicknamed the Sword Princess... be killed just like that by low-tier monsters like these?! This makes no sense at all! There must be a conspiracy behind this whole incident!”

Unable to accept that absurd reality, Charlie immediately reactivated his Senrigan.

His eyes radiated a mystical glow, rewinding the timeline to view the past record of the tragic day where Ais died.

However, the result of that past vision instead left him dead silent.

There was no conspiracy.

There was no hidden poison.

There was no mastermind as he had originally suspected.

Ais’s death was purely caused by a combination of carelessness and an unexpected ambush attack from a pack of Garouz at a moment when her vigilance was at its lowest point.

”Just because of a ridiculous thing like this...?” Charlie closed his eyes, holding Ais’s stiff body tightly against his chest. ”No... I will never let you die just like this, Ais!”

Following that, without the slightest hesitation, Charlie unleashed the Hundred Gauntlets at maximum output.

Logically, a person dies because there is a cause. The Hundred Gauntlets worked by manipulating that causal relationship.

Right now, Charlie was attempting to reverse Ais’s death as if it had never happened in the first place.

Ais’s death was forcibly repositioned as the ”Cause”—which in turn triggered the opposite effect: the girl’s body automatically repaired all its damage, pulled back its vitality, and brought her back to life in a healthy condition.

*RUMBLE!*

However, right in the middle of that fate-reversal process, an unexpected phenomenon suddenly occurred.

Far up in Heaven, Hades—the god fully responsible for death and the cycle of reincarnation—suddenly felt an outside force trying to snatch and pull back a soul that had already entered beneath his jurisdiction.

”PRESUMPTUOUS!” Hades’s furious shout echoed through every corner of Heaven. ”What fool dares to mess with the cycle of reincarnation and challenge the authority of death?!”

In the Lower World, Charlie felt a tremendous intervention launched by Hades through the pathway of causality.

The oppression from the God of Death attempted to forcibly destroy Charlie’s ritual of fate reversal.

*BOOM!*

At that exact instant, Charlie’s Divine Authority automatically activated on its own, rising up fiercely to fight back against the pressure from the God of Death.

Vastly different from previous events—when Charlie suffered a severe backlash for attempting to investigate the god responsible for the conspiracy targeting him to the point of causing his body to enter a vegetative state—this time, thanks to his transformation as a Transcendent, Hades’s counterattack was completely incapable of rendering Charlie helpless like before!
