Journey to Planar World

Standing right in front of the intended room’s door, Mahiru, who stood pressed close beside Charlie, seemed to take deep breaths again and again. Her slender fingers were tightly intertwined, radiating a very clear sense of nervousness.

That feeling was naturally quite understandable. After all, technically and when viewed from a standard social perspective, Mahiru’s current position was not much different from a mistress coming to face the legitimate wife.

”Ch-Charlie-kun...” Mahiru whispered softly, looking up at the profile of the youth’s face beside her. ”What if Aishia-san can’t accept my presence?”

Seeing the girl’s anxiety, Charlie smiled gently. He turned around and cupped Mahiru’s warm cheeks with his palms.

”Relax, Mahiru. Everything will be alright.” He said reassuringly. ”Aishia won’t care about these kinds of things at all. Trust me, even if I were to emulate the lifestyle of an ancient Chinese Emperor possessing a harem of 3,000 concubines, Aishia’s heart would remain as tranquil as the water of a lake without fluctuating even a bit.”

*GAZE—!!!*

Instantly, the luster in Mahiru’s eyes dimmed drastically. Her pupils became hollow, exuding a chilling aura.

”Charlie-kun...” she spoke in a voice as smooth as silk yet piercing to the bone. ”Are you... indirectly declaring that you indeed intend to build a harem that large in the future?”

Charlie chuckled with amusement seeing the transformation of Mahiru’s yandere mode. He gently pinched both of the girl’s cheeks.

”Good grief, that was just a hyperbolic example, Mahiru! Don’t take it so seriously.”

”Hmph!” Mahiru clenched her fists and struck Charlie’s chest repeatedly without any strength. ”That was a terrible joke! Don’t make jokes about things like that!”

*CLICK!*

Before Charlie had the chance to respond to Mahiru’s huff, the wooden door in front of them was slowly pushed open from the inside.

A figure of a beautiful peach-haired girl in an elegant dress appeared at the threshold, gazing at Charlie and Mahiru who were busy flirting with a flat expression.

With all the commotion outside her door, how could Aishia not be moved to step out and check on it?

”A-Ah...” Mahiru suddenly froze.

The moment her eyes landed directly on Aishia’s figure, her breath seemed to catch in her throat.

Mahiru was thoroughly entranced by Aishia’s beauty, which truly sat at an extraordinary level that did not seem like a mortal creation.

However, Aishia did not pay the slightest attention to Mahiru’s presence. As soon as her eyes caught Charlie’s figure, her flat expression crumbled, and she suddenly lost her composure.

Even though Charlie had completely hidden his entire divine aura—thanks to his absolute control over energy obtained from the Six Eyes—Aishia, who was tightly bound spiritually to Charlie’s soul, could feel something capable of shaking heaven and earth within the man in front of her.

”Charlie... you...” Aishia’s voice sounded with a slight tremble. ”Have you awakened the full power of the Dragon King?”

Hearing Aishia’s sudden question, Charlie smiled faintly and nodded in confirmation.

”Well, that’s right. I just leveled up to Level 7, and at the same time, the power of the Dragon King inside my body awakened in its entirety.”

In truth, the mystery regarding Aishia’s true identity that had confused Charlie all this time had been completely solved thanks to the information regarding Transcendents he had recently obtained.

Aishia’s true identity was not merely an ordinary High-Rank Spirit.

She was a special artificial vessel created to store a copy of the memories, divinity, and remaining power of one of the past Transcendents, Lina.

Aishia had been deliberately created by Lina as an embodiment whose duty was to accompany, serve, and provide emotional and physical support for the Dragon King’s reincarnation.

”It seems you knew about the Dragon King’s power hidden deep within me from the very beginning, didn’t you, Aishia?” Charlie said casually.

Aishia lowered her head slightly, staring at the floor in a tone full of guilt.

”Forgive me, Charlie... I felt it was still too early for you to know this fact.”

”The primary purpose of my creation was indeed to serve as a container to hold the power of a Transcendent. Normally, an ordinary mortal human body could never endure the power of a Transcendent, let alone the soul of the Dragon King reincarnated into a human.”

Aishia looked back up, staring into Charlie’s eyes with pure honesty.

”This is where my true role lies. In the initial scenario, I was supposed to fuse completely with the reincarnated soul of the Dragon King, so that he could use that excessively vast Transcendent power without causing his body to be destroyed.”

”However... the situation between you and the Dragon King’s reincarnation turned out to be the exact opposite.”

”Your body gradually grew stronger beyond the category of ordinary humans as your level increased.”

”The Falna in this world enables you to possess a mortal physical body capable of holding Transcendent power independently... Thus, my main role as a vessel... is actually no longer needed.”

Mahiru, standing beside Charlie, listened to the entire conversation about the ’Dragon King’, ’Vessel’, and ’Transcendent’ with a head full of massive question marks.

However, seeing how serious the atmosphere between the two of them was, Mahiru chose to remain wise by keeping her lips tightly sealed and silently listening.

”Aishia...” Charlie stared intently at the peach-haired girl. ”Since you already know all those things, and know that I am actually not the original soul of the Dragon King’s reincarnation as planned from the beginning... what is your response to that?”

Aishia looked up, staring at him without the slightest doubt in her eyes.

”I don’t care about that at all anymore, Charlie.” She answered in a firm and absolute tone. ”Whether you are the reincarnation of the Dragon King or not, to me you are still Charlie—the man who gave me a reason to exist. I will still stay by your side and accompany you forever.”

Hearing Aishia’s commitment, Charlie’s chest swelled with a warm wave of overflowing emotion. Without hesitation, he stepped forward and pulled Aishia’s body into his embrace.

”Thank you, Aishia... thank you very much.” He whispered sincerely near the girl’s ear.

Aishia rested her head against Charlie’s chest, returning the hug warmly.

Before long, however, her eyes glanced softly toward the blonde-haired girl standing awkwardly near the door.

”Charlie...” Aishia asked gently. ”Who is this girl you brought with you?”

Charlie slowly released his embrace. Offering a faint smile, he wrapped an arm around Mahiru’s shoulders and pushed her slightly forward.

”Now, Mahiru, go ahead and introduce yourself to Aishia.”

Mahiru took a deep breath to calm her rapidly racing heartbeat. She bowed her body very gracefully and politely, displaying flawless manners.

”N-Nice to meet you, Aishia-san. My name is Shiina Mahiru.” She said in a clear voice despite a touch of nervousness. ”I am Charlie-kun’s Familiar. From now on, I will be living here as well. Please take care of me.”

Aishia stared for a moment with her signature flat gaze, before finally nodding softly with a very gentle expression.

”Nice to meet you too, Mahiru.” She replied calmly. ”Since you have decided to follow Charlie all the way to this world, you don’t need to feel reserved. From this second onward... we are all family.”

The word ’family’ uttered so naturally by Aishia touched the deepest part of Mahiru’s heart.

Considering how her original family in her home world had always treated her cold and poorly, it felt truly ironic that in this entirely foreign fantasy world, a ’new family’ welcomed her with open arms unconditionally.

A glimmer of tears pooled in the corners of Mahiru’s eyes, but she quickly brushed it away with the most sincere and warmest smile she had ever shown.

”Yes... please take care of me from now on, Aishia-san!”
