Not Being a Trainer This Time

”Because I have something very important to do and I need the power of Z-Moves to make it happen. Right now I really need Grassium Z and Water Z. If you have them, I can trade you this Fightinium Z and some gifts.”

Actually, Naoki wanted to abduct Tapu Koko even more, but Tapu Koko probably wouldn’t agree to leave this place, because it’s the Guardian God of this island.

”Kaka...” Tapu Koko sounded a bit confused.

It glanced at Koraidon standing beside Naoki, indicating that Pokemon was Fighting Type, and if they switched to a different Z Crystal, that Pokemon wouldn’t be able to use it.

”It’s fine.” Naoki shook his head, saying that if it couldn’t use it, then it couldn’t use it.

After all, they’d been staying on the ranch the whole time, hardly ever going out. Don’t even mention Z-Moves, they almost never used Terastal from the Paldea Region either.

So by comparison, the other Z Crystals were more important.

Hearing this, Tapu Koko stared at Naoki for a while, then nodded once: ”Kaka!”

Then it turned around, gesturing for Naoki to follow.

Seeing that, Naoki hurriedly mounted Koraidon and flew after Tapu Koko toward the distant dense forest.

Soon, they reached the deepest part of the forest.

Tapu Koko stopped. It flew to a towering tree, reached inside with its hand and felt around, then flew back in front of Naoki.

Tapu Koko opened its hand, and lying in its palm were three Z Crystals.

One was fiery red, with a flame pattern on it—Firium Z.

One was green, with a grass pattern on it—Grassium Z.

And the last one was pale pink, bearing a strange pattern—Mysterious Z.

Seeing this Z Crystal, Naoki was slightly stunned.

Tapu Koko followed his gaze and saw that pink Z Crystal.

It explained to Naoki: ”Kakaka!”

Naoki blinked: ”You picked this up in some ancient ruins?”

Tapu Koko nodded its head: ”Kaka!”

”Hiss...” Naoki was quite shocked.

Because if he wasn’t mistaken, this pale pink Z Crystal was very likely Mew’s exclusive Z.

With this thing, Mew could unleash its exclusive Z-Move, Genesis Supernova!

”Kaka?” Tapu Koko looked at Naoki, asking which one he wanted to trade for.

Naoki hesitated a bit, but still chose the Grassium Z that he could actually use.

Tapu Koko noticed this human’s expression.

It lowered its head to look at the several Z Crystals in its palm, then used its right hand to pick up that unknown pink Z Crystal and handed it to Naoki.

Naoki froze on the spot: ”You’re giving me this one too?”

”Kaka!”

Tapu Koko happily nodded. It carefully put away the Fightinium Z Naoki had given it along with Firium Z, then turned around and flew off.

Its speed was very fast; in the blink of an eye, it was gone without a trace.

Naoki: ”...”

Well, he couldn’t just take advantage of this for free.

After thinking for a moment, Naoki took out a few bottles of Life Sheep Milk and some Pokeblocks from his backpack, then placed them in that tree hollow where Tapu Koko had just taken out the Z Crystals.

If this was where Tapu Koko stored its things, then it would definitely come back here later. When it saw the Life Sheep Milk inside, it would probably understand what was going on.

After finishing this, Naoki turned around and left with Koraidon.

With the Forest Pokemon Cafe’s problem solved, he had passed the trial Hala had given him, so next he should head back to Iki Town to report to Hala.

However, Naoki didn’t go to Iki Town right away.

Instead, he took Koraidon and the others to a seaside restaurant in Melemele City for lunch, and only headed to Iki Town to report his mission at three in the afternoon.

Iki Town, inside Hala’s residence.

Hala looked appreciatively at the Trainer in front of him and laughed heartily:

”I’ve already received notice from Miss Jenny; the Forest Pokemon Cafe has resumed business.”

”That place is where everyone goes to relax—not just humans, but Pokemon too. It’s really great that it can open again now!”

”You did an excellent job. As a reward, this is my gift to you.”

With that, Hala picked up a yellow-brown Z Crystal and a brand-new Z Ring from the table.

”These are a Z Ring and Z Crystal unique to the Alola Region. With them, you can unleash powerful Z-Moves.”

As he spoke, Hala suddenly noticed the Z Ring already on Naoki’s wrist.

He looked surprised: ”Eh? You already have a Z Ring and Z Crystal?”

Naoki nodded: ”This Z Ring was a thank-you gift from Oranguru, the owner of the Forest Pokemon Cafe, and the Z Crystal on it was a present from Tapu Koko.”

Hearing this, shock immediately appeared on Hala’s face: ”You met the Guardian God?!”

Naoki nodded: ”I guess after hearing that the Forest Pokemon Cafe had reopened, Tapu Koko decided to drop by!”

Upon hearing that, Hala understood. Looked at this way, it must have been Tapu Koko who learned from Oranguru that it was this human who got the cafe running again, so it gave him a Z Crystal in return?

”Then you won’t be needing this Z Ring. In that case, I’ll just give you this Fightinium Z! With it, you can have your Pokemon unleash the powerful Z-Move, All-Out Pummeling!” Hala said.
