Not Being a Trainer This Time

What else can we do?

Naoki sighed helplessly, then released Articuno and Moltres, and continued the previous topic.

”Articuno, there’s one more thing I’d like to ask you for help with,” Naoki said.

”Buu-shii-yee?” Articuno looked over in confusion.

Naoki observed the changes in its body, then asked, ”That bun just now should have enhanced the Ice Type Energy inside you quite a bit, right?”

Based on the boost Zapdos received from eating the Lightning Steamed Bun, Articuno and Moltres should similarly benefit.

Sure enough, just as Naoki had anticipated, the Articuno in front nodded its head.

”Buu-shii-yee!”

Indeed, the Ice Type Energy inside it had increased by at least 40% compared to before!

”Then there’s no problem,” Naoki nodded and said, ”You’ve already seen the World Tree, right? I plan to create an ice and snow habitat suitable for Ice Type Pokemon to live there, so I’ll need your power.”

Using the move Hurricane to bring down heavy snow until it covers the entire tree layer, the World Tree will adjust the ecosystem and temperature according to the environment, completely transforming that layer into a Snowfield Ecological Zone.

Once complete, Articuno can settle directly there.

As for Moltres... it can go directly to the volcanic area where Groudon resides.

”Buu-shii-yee!” Articuno immediately indicated no problem, such a task was a cinch for it.

”Alright.” Naoki checked the time, seeing it wasn’t yet 9 PM, he decided to visit together with Articuno: ”It’s perfect timing, I’ll go with you both now.”

There wasn’t anything necessary to bring to the World Tree, Naoki rode on Koraidon, and a group of restless Pokemon nearby decided to join them.

With no choice, Naoki had to take them along.

Alcremie, partner Eevee, Dratini, and Happiny, these small-sized Pokemon all climbed onto his body.

Butterfree, Pawmot, and Dragonite, these Pokemon could follow behind by flying themselves.

As for Ogerpon, Cyclizar, and Greavard, these Pokemon ended up riding on the three birds.

Once the group was ready, they headed towards the World Tree, traversing the Reversed World, they arrived at the Explorer Team Guild area.

Though it was night, the Explorer Team Guild was still brightly lit and bustling.

The Pokemon who had been working hard in the fields all day, those who had picked Berries for food preparation throughout the day, and others who battled with companions to improve their strengths were all gathered at the guild now.

Some were enjoying sushi at Tatsugiri’s sushi shop, some were drinking Berry Juice at Meowth and Pikachu’s tavern, while some Pokemon, exhausted, returned to their cabins to sleep soundly.

Naoki even saw several working Dragonite here, presumably coming over from the Land of Dragons to play.

The Dragonite greeted its colleagues with a howl.

As soon as Koraidon landed, Naoki’s Eevee immediately scattered skillfully, joining the group of Pokemon.

Naoki: ”...” He knew the Eevee had come to play.

”Buu-ku?” Happiny perched on Naoki’s shoulder looked around curiously, its eyes filled with wonder; this place looked lively indeed!

Speaking of which, this was Happiny’s first time at this location!

Naoki smiled and introduced it: ”This is the World Tree, also part of our home. These are Pokemon from various places, all living together here.”

”Buu-ku...”

Happiny’s eyes lit up, clasping the Oval Stone, it jumped down from Naoki’s shoulder, then excitedly surveyed its surroundings.

It sure seemed lively here!

”Go play with everyone for a while! I’ll come pick you up once I’m finished,” Naoki said with a smile.

Happiny hesitated: ”Buu-ku?” Can I really?

It didn’t know any of the Pokemon here!

Seeing this, Alcremie and Pawmot stepped forward proactively.

”Ba-mo Ba-mo!”

”Ma-ma!”

They could show Happiny around here!

Naoki smiled and said: ”Then I’ll leave Happiny in your care!”

”Ba-mo!” Pawmot nodded, then it and Alcremie took Happiny to explore the facilities.

Meanwhile, Naoki quietly left with Koraidon and the others, taking the World Tree elevator to the Land of Earth where Groudon resided.

The Land of Earth, centered on the volcano where Groudon resides, spans outward; beneath the volcano lies the red earth, a result of Groudon’s cooled magma.

The land is filled with steaming hot springs; the further out, the cooler the temperature, with the outermost edge consisting solely of ordinary rock veins.

Kubfu wasn’t here at the moment, probably training over at Kyogre’s side.

Naoki glanced at the volcano, then said to Moltres:

”Moltres, you can live in this place from now on!”

”Oh-ho...” Moltres seemed to sense something wasn’t quite right; there was an aura here that felt incredibly intimidating.

That aura brought a sense of unprecedented pressure.

It glanced left and right, quickly determining that the aura’s source was from that volcano!

At that moment, Groudon sensed intruders and emerged from the volcano.

In the next second, the two Pokemon locked eyes.

Moltres’ head sprouted a bold and thick exclamation mark.

!

”Don’t worry, that’s Groudon, the creator of this land. It won’t harm you.” Naoki introduced to Moltres.

”Oh-ho...” Moltres remained tense.

Naoki looked to Groudon: ”Groudon, this is Zapdos. It will move to this place in the future, please take care of it for me.”

After all, Moltres was one of Naoki’s Pokemon, having entered a Poke Ball.

Upon hearing this, Groudon glanced at the bird Pokemon with its golden eyes.

For Groudon, such a matter was trivial.

After all, the land it had once created was inhabited by countless humans and Pokemon.

Once confirming there was no issue, Groudon turned and returned to the volcano.

”Then Moltres, make yourself at home here! If there’s anything you want to eat, you can go to the Explorer Team Guild for a meal. Okay, we’re leaving now.”

After instructing Moltres, Naoki turned and left.

In the blink of an eye, Moltres was the only Pokemon left here.

It gazed nervously at the volcano; after a while, confirming the Pokemon there had no hostility, it finally relaxed.

Then it soared and circled in mid-air, casually finding a cavern with flowing magma to settle down.

At this point, Naoki had already arrived at the next layer of the Land of Earth with Articuno.

This remained an area yet to be developed.

The vegetation was lush, the soil fertile, and as far as the eye could see, everything was a scene full of vitality.

Observing this, Articuno looked at Naoki somewhat uncertainly.

”Buu-shii-yee?” Should it really use Blizzard?

If it did, everything here would be destroyed...

Naoki nodded firmly: ”Do it! These plants won’t die. They’re part of the World Tree. When the snow falls, they’ll exist in a different form in this place.”

Upon hearing this, Articuno nodded.

Then, it flapped its wings and ascended into the sky.

Scattered blue ice crystals burst from Articuno’s body, accompanied by a crisp bird cry, a fierce chill suddenly erupted.

The sky quickly whipped up a fierce blizzard.

Pure white snowflakes fluttered down, until they covered the entire world.

Soon, this place transformed into an endless snowy expanse, where snow-capped firs grew; as the wind blew, the snow accumulated above fell, revealing the verdant needle-shaped leaves.

Watching this scene, an image surfaced in Naoki’s mind:

A group of Mamoswine slowly trekked through the snow-covered firs; as their massive bodies passed through, snow from the trees fell. Perhaps the mother Mamoswine in the lead would pause and wait for its slowly advancing Swinub child.

This place was perfectly tailored for Ice Type Pokemon!

Articuno glided back, circling back to Naoki.

”Well done, Articuno! From now on, live well here!” Naoki said.

”Buu-shii-yee!”

Articuno nodded gently; it was indeed very satisfied with this place!
