Not Being a Trainer This Time

”But if that’s the case, your café won’t be able to continue business,” Naoki said.

Oranguru fluttered its fan, looking helpless: ”Yare yare...” (In that case, it’s still better than the other Pokémon in the forest going hungry...)

Naoki: ”...” All right!

So, next, as long as he helps Oranguru resolve the trouble brought by Snorlax, allowing the Forest Pokémon Café to continue operating, he can complete Hala’s test.

Naoki looked at Oranguru, and Oranguru looked back at him.

”Yare...?” (Do you have any good ideas?) Oranguru asked.

”Let me think!” Naoki then fell into deep thought.

There are still several years until the start of the main storyline of the Sun and Moon anime, and by the time Ash travels here, this café has already resumed normal business.

This suggests that during this time, Oranguru found a good solution for this gluttonous Snorlax.

But from Oranguru’s current plan, driving away Snorlax is not part of its agenda... Otherwise, the Pokémon Café wouldn’t have to suspend operation.

Naoki carefully recalled the anime’s plot; as the owner of the Forest Pokémon Café, this Oranguru is undoubtedly a highly intelligent Pokémon.

It not only mixes juices, hires Torkoal to help with cooking, but also develops land specifically for planting Berries.

This intelligence even surpasses many humans.

Humans...

Naoki suddenly thought of the common points between this Oranguru and humans.

Got it!

Since Oranguru can mix cocktails and Pinap Berry juice like humans, it can certainly make special Pokeblocks like humans.

And he has a recipe for Pokeblocks specifically for Snorlax, just one can make Snorlax full!

So, next, as long as he teaches Oranguru how to make these Snorlax-specialized Pokeblocks, the test can be completed, right?

”Yare yare.” (Looks like you’ve thought of a solution.)

Oranguru looked at the human’s expression before it and suddenly spoke.

Naoki nodded: ”That’s right, I have a Pokeblock recipe specifically for Pokémon like Snorlax, just one can fill it up, so it won’t come here to eat all the Berries anymore.”

Oranguru: ”Yare?” (Pokeblocks?)

”They are a special kind of snack, made from ordinary Berries, requiring only a machine to produce!” Naoki said.

Saying so, he suddenly realized that for Oranguru, making a Berry Blender might be a little difficult.

So after brief consideration, Naoki continued: ”I’ll handle the machine part!”

He turned and mounted Koraidon, said goodbye to Oranguru, then flew toward Hau’oli City to buy a machine to make Pokeblocks for Oranguru.

The Oranguru on the ground looked up, watching the human and the Pokémon fly away, a helpless expression crossing its face.

”Yare...”

Looking at the Snorlax over there, Oranguru turned around and walked back toward the Forest Pokémon Café.

When it reached the doorstep, it saw that several Pokémon had already gathered there.

Caterpie, Vibrava, Ribombee, Fearow, Heracross...

Oranguru recognized them; they were regular customers of the café.

Seeing Oranguru, these Pokémon all glanced over in unison.

”Hey ya?” Heracross asked.

Oranguru shook its head and responded: ”Yare yare.” (The café currently doesn’t have any juice to offer.)

Ribombee quickly asked: ”Moe?” (What about that delicious Honey?)

Oranguru continued shaking its head: ”Yare yare.” (No, without Berries, Bewear won’t trade Honey for juice, I guess we’ll have to wait until the Berry Garden recovers for Bewear to trade with me again?)

”Moe...” Ribombee appeared very disappointed.

Without juice and Honey, they felt life had no meaning.

The other Pokémon around also drooped their heads, feeling low-spirited.

Oranguru was about to say something when it heard a voice approaching from the sky.

”We’re back!”

Oranguru and the surrounding Pokémon looked up to see the human and the Pokémon landing on the grass with a strange machine.

”This is the machine I just talked to you about!” Naoki placed the Berry Blender on the grass with a clatter.

Oranguru looked down at the strange machine.

Five minutes later, a group of Pokémon followed the human into the Forest Pokémon Café.

Naoki poured out a pile of Berries from the Space Backpack.

The round Berries rolled around the table, making Caterpie, Ribombee, and Fearow’s eyes light up.

If that’s the case, can the Forest Pokémon Café resume business? Can they drink delicious Berry Juice again?

”These are the Berries needed to make Pokeblocks,” Naoki said to Oranguru, ”Next, I’ll teach you the recipe for Pokeblocks designed for Snorlax. Follow the process, and you can make Pokeblocks that will fill Snorlax’s stomach.”

”In addition, I brought more types of Berry seeds for you.”
