Not Being a Trainer This Time

Clair had never seen so many Dragonite at the same time before.

When she was stared at by this group of Dragonite dressed as couriers with those big eyes, she was completely dumbfounded.

It wasn’t until the Dragonite group withdrew their curiosity, turned around, and flew towards the direction of the ranch that Clair’s tense heart slightly relaxed.

Clair, who had dealt with Dragon Type Pokemon for many years, could feel that these Dragonite didn’t have any ill intentions towards them, they were just purely curious.

Clair cast her gaze towards the ranch, then said to the Dragonite below her:

”Dragonite, let’s follow them!”

”Growl!”

The Dragonite responded, then leaned forward and rushed out. Soon, it took its Trainer above the ranch.

In her sight, the Dragonite that arrived first had already landed steadily, each spreading out.

Some Dragonite found a shady spot to sit down, don’t know where they found a Poffin Box, and were leisurely feasting on Poffins, looking very relaxed;

In front of some Dragonite, several Rotom Phones were levitating, and those Dragonite were growling and talking to them;

Other Dragonite ran into a building, and brought out some bottled fresh milk to stuff into their satchel, then flapped their dragon wings and flew away.

And at this time, Clair saw a tall man walking out from one of the rooms.

Beside that man was a strong and enigmatic Pokemon full of wild aura.

The Pokemon possessed a pair of captivating golden pupils, its body covered with crimson scales, and beneath the scales was terrifying muscle, just looking at it with the naked eye, one could feel the explosive power contained within.

Clair sensed from that Pokemon a very intense dragon aura.

That made her instantly realize one thing - this Trainer is also an expert in using Dragon Type Pokemon!

Those who love dragons aren’t bad people, Clair’s eyes suddenly lit up. Although her heart was very excited, her face remained basically calm, letting Dragonite land in this ranch.

”Ah-growl?”

Naoki, who was helping Dragonite load goods, suddenly heard Koraidon’s growl.

”What’s up Koraidon?” Naoki asked as he turned back.

In the next second, he saw a Dragonite he had never seen before land in his ranch.

Following that, a tall figure jumped down from Dragonite, landing steadily on the grass.

Naoki heard the person respectfully say to him:

”Sir, I am Clair from Blackthorn City in the Johto Region. I’ve heard of your great name and specially came here to visit you!”

Upon hearing this name, Naoki was slightly stunned.

Clair? He didn’t hear wrong, did he? Isn’t she Lance’s cousin, the Gym Leader of Blackthorn Gym?

”Blackthorn City? You’re from the Dragon Taming Clan, right?” Naoki glanced at the Dragonite beside Clair, casually asked.

Clair’s heart tightened, she never expected the other party to guess her origin right away, how did this man see through?

What surprised Clair even more was the kind of reclusive master aura the other party exuded.

”Sir, you have keen insight!” Clair nodded.

Naoki: ”...”

He was a little uncomfortable with Clair’s respectful demeanor, however, Clair in the anime seemed to be just like this.

Born in the Dragon Taming Clan, she deeply loves Dragon Type Pokemon and can understand the feelings of Dragon Type Pokemon, calming down angry Dragon Type Pokemon.

Moreover, Clair greatly respects those strong in using Dragon Type Pokemon, like her cousin Lance, Drayden, the Gym Leader of Opelucid City in the Unova Region, and other Trainers proficient in Dragon Type Pokemon.

”Why are you here?” Naoki asked.

”I have collected all eight badges from the Paldea Region and passed the Champion Qualification.” Clair said frankly: ”The leader said I now have the qualifications to battle with you, so I’d like to issue a challenge and have a dragon duel!”

Naoki was stunned on the spot.

The Gym Leader of Blackthorn Gym came all the way to the Paldea Region, collected eight badges and passed the Champion Qualification, went to all that effort just to have a Pokemon battle with him?

Clair is really too exaggerated...

”I understand.”

Naoki let out a helpless sigh, Clair went to all that effort for the chance to battle him, he couldn’t just let her come all this way for nothing.

”In that case, let’s have a match!”

Hearing this, Clair’s eyes brightened, a serious expression appeared between her brow: ”Sir, please take care of me!”

”If I’m not wrong, you just want to have a battle with my Dragon-type Pokemon, right?” Naoki asked Clair as they walked towards the battle area.

Clair nodded: ”That’s right, it’s best to have a 6v6 dragon duel!”

Naoki: ”...”

6v6... that also means he has to deploy six Dragon Type Pokemon.

However, the Pokemon on the ranch that truly count as battle-ready Pokemon are only Cyclizar, Koraidon, and Dragonite, if not counting the courier Dragonite and Giratina.

”I currently have only three Dragon Type Pokemon available for battle.” Naoki said.

Although Clair felt a bit regretful, she thought that this was already quite good, if she gave it her all, maybe several of her Pokemon would really get significant improvement during the battle.

Thinking of this, Clair nodded: ”Then please take care!”
