Not Being a Trainer This Time

”Wow! Nanako’s Amoonguss has appeared! I really feel worried for the other contestants! Ah, I don’t know why, but whenever I see this Pokemon, I get dizzy and lightheaded...” Roger said, rubbing his forehead with his left hand as if he were really uncomfortable.

The audience erupted in laughter at this scene.

Many who were seated here today knew that Nanako looked very cute, but her Amoonguss’s fighting style was quite dirty.

This stark contrast had attracted quite a few fans to her.

”Alright, alright, just joking with everyone, so next, let’s welcome the third contestant to the stage!” Roger announced loudly.

”Ka-ka-ka!”

The spotlight on the third row suddenly lit up.

Beneath the bright lights, a man with a bare upper body, donning a bull-horned mask, slowly walked out from the entrance corridor.

The crowd immediately burst into synchronized shouts.

”Royal Masked Man!”

”Royal Masked Man!”

”...”

The man known as the Royal Masked Man heard the fans’ shouts and a smile appeared on his face.

He walked up to the arena and then tossed out his Poke Ball.

Accompanied by a flash of white light, a robust

Pokemon with a muscular body, flame-red fur, and a Flame Belt around its waist appeared in everyone’s sight.

”Wow! It’s the Royal Masked Man and his Incineroar! This is truly surprising! Who would have thought the Royal Masked Man would participate in today’s competition!” Roger pretended to be shocked.

”I believe everyone doesn’t need me to introduce him, right? The perennial first-ranked star in the Master Rank! The former record holder of consecutive wins! He and his Incineroar have used their strong power to defeat countless challengers, and so far, no one has managed to take the top spot!”

”As for why I said ’former’... that has to do with our next contestant!”

At this, Roger intentionally paused.

”You all must have heard recently that the Royal Dome welcomes a powerful contestant who’s not only won all the way to the Master Rank but also broke the Royal Masked Man’s record of twenty consecutive wins!”

”I bet everyone wants to know who that is, so now, let’s welcome the King of Consecutive Wins, the red-hot contestant, Winged King!”

”Ka-ka-ka!”

With the final spotlight turned on, the entire arena exploded with a tidal wave of cheers.

Amidst that voice, a tall figure wearing a mask slowly emerged from the entrance corridor.

Upon seeing that person, the Royal Masked Man, Laiyang Nanako, and the Karate King all turned their gazes in that direction.

Naoki slowly walked onto the arena, standing at his designated spot.

He reached down and picked up a red and white ball from his waist.

Seeing this, Roger shouted excitedly:

”Wow! Winged King is about to send out his Pokemon! I wonder who Winged King will choose for this crucial match!”

”Will it be the eccentric Alcremie? Or the extraordinarily skilled Farfetch’d? Or maybe that powerfully strong Arboliva?”

All eyes in the audience were drawn by these words.

Everyone wanted to know which Pokemon Winged King would send out to battle.

Under the spotlight, Winged King slowly picked up his Poke Ball.

However, just as he was about to throw the Poke Ball, an unexpected twist occurred.

A ripple of purple suddenly spread through the air.

Following that, a massive, dragon-like figure filled with an aura of destruction crossed the void and appeared in the real world.

This Pokemon landed in front of Winged King, seemingly indicating that it was Winged King’s Pokemon.

That Pokemon was...!

Roger couldn’t help but let out an exclamation, jumping up in surprise.

He quickly uttered the name of the Pokemon.

”It’s Giratina! Winged King has sent Giratina out for battle!”

Looking at that dragon-like figure filled with a destructive aura, the entire crowd was shocked in that moment!

Naoki’s hand, which was about to throw the Poke Ball, paused slightly, a big question mark popped above his head.

Naoki: ”?”
