Naoki nodded, then asked Koraidon to call Cyclizar and Dragonite over.

Soon, all three Pokemon gathered, standing in a row behind Naoki.

Clair’s gaze swept over the three Pokemon.

On the far left was a Cyclizar; she had encountered this type of Pokemon on her way to challenge a Gym, though it was a wild one.

However, Naoki’s Cyclizar seemed unremarkable, not likely his main Pokemon.

In the center stood a Dragonite, which should be the one Lance mentioned as being able to control the weather.

Control the weather? If that’s the case, she might as well use the weather they summon to her advantage! Clair decided to claim it for herself.

On the far right was a Pokemon named Koraidon, according to Naoki.

Her dragon intuition told Clair that the Pokemon named Koraidon was extraordinarily dangerous, with the strongest dragon aura among the three; its abilities were likely the greatest.

Given that, she would use that Pokemon first!

Clair tosses a Poke Ball into the air.

A flash of white light, and a fierce-looking Pokemon with a menacing expression crashes onto the field.

”Whoosh——”

Seeing them ready, her elder brother Indeedee, acting as the referee, immediately blew the whistle.

The first round of dragon showdown, Cyclizar vs. Gyarados!

”Gyarados, Dragon Dance!”

As the battle began, Clair made a decisive wave, choosing a more stable and cautious approach.

Watching this, Naoki also told Cyclizar: ”Gear Shift.”

On the field, Gyarados leaped into a fierce battle dance, while Cyclizar’s chest wheel began to spin rapidly amidst white light.

Even before Gyarados finished its battle dance, Cyclizar had already completed its gear shift.

”Dragon Claw!”

Cyclizar immediately leaped forward, its massive claws surging with intense purple light, forming huge dragon claws that swung at Gyarados.

Just as Gyarados finished its Dragon Dance, Clair immediately commanded: ”Aqua Tail, break it!”

However, before she could finish speaking, Cyclizar’s Dragon Claw struck Gyarados, leaving three clear claw marks on its chest.

In pain, Gyarados became furious, swinging its massive tail, a vast surge of Water Energy rising, creating waves with each tail swipe.

”Evade!”

At Naoki’s command, Cyclizar swiftly retreated.

Gyarados’ Aqua Tail smashed fiercely onto the ground.

”Such speed!” Clair was somewhat surprised.

But the next second, that Cyclizar charged at Gyarados again, dragon energy enveloping its tail, sweeping fiercely towards Gyarados.

Not to be outdone, Gyarados swung its massive, resilient tail.

In the next moment, the two tails collided, erupting a fierce splash, powerful forces continuously clashing and mingling, eventually bursting into myriad drops like rain.

Gyarados let out a heavy breath, and being the Dragon Envoy, Clair naturally knew what dragon-type Pokemon feared most.

Without hesitation, she ordered: ”Gyarados, Ice Fang!”

”Cyclizar, Wild Charge!”

”Buzz buzz buzz!”

Electric currents crackled between the rapidly spinning gears, that yellow current enveloping Cyclizar’s entire body.

Cyclizar’s eyes locked onto the Gyarados ahead, and the next second, it charged swiftly.

As soon as she saw electricity emanate from Cyclizar, Clair’s heart sank.

That Cyclizar could use Electric-type moves!

But it was too late.

On the field, the two Pokemon collided.

Gyarados’ Ice Fang hadn’t even bitten down before a powerful electric current surged into its body.

Electricity clashed with flying and water, a fierce force swept across, and Gyarados’ eyes widened, soon losing its ability to fight in intense agony.

Clair: ”!!!”

Her brother Indeedee stepped forward to check Gyarados’ condition, then announced: ”Ay yay!”

”Allow Pokemon to learn more moves to face a greater variety of opponents.” Naoki said.

”I lost.” Clair said, acknowledging she lost not only to the information gap, but also because Gyarados was far slower than Cyclizar.

”Come back, Gyarados!” Clair recalled Gyarados into its Poke Ball, then took out her second Poke Ball.

As a flash of white light passed, a Pokemon appeared on the battlefield, resembling a seahorse with dragon horns on its head, its scales gleaming with beautiful luster.

Naoki’s mind recalled the name of the Pokemon—Kingdra.

The final evolved form of Horsea, and one of Clair’s signature Pokemon.

”Switched Pokemon?” Naoki said to Cyclizar, ”Cyclizar, come back! Dragonite, this battle is yours!”

”Gyaoo!”

”Howl!”

The two Pokemon switched places, with Cyclizar returning to Naoki’s side while Dragonite flew onto the battlefield, looking at Kingdra with its big, adorable eyes.

Dragon battle second round, Dragonite vs Kingdra!

As soon as the battle began, Dragonite called up a thunderstorm like it always did.

Instantly, the weather changed dramatically.

The once-clear sky turned into a downpour of torrential rain, with a fierce gale sweeping through the battlefield.

The wind mixed with rain engulfed the entire battleground.

Dragonite flapped its wings, standing firm in the storm, as if completely unaffected by the environment.

Seeing this, Kingdra appeared wary.

Clair also furrowed her brows.

Lance was right; this Dragonite indeed has a unique mastery over Rain Dance, so much so that opponents can’t wrestle control of the weather from it.

But, it’s fine.

”Kingdra, Yawn!” Clair waved her hand, immediately giving the order.

Kingdra let out a yawn toward Dragonite.

The once energetic Dragonite instantly seemed affected, starting to look drowsy.

”Dragonite, don’t fall asleep, hang in there!”

In a daze, Naoki’s voice came from far away.

Naoki...

Dragonite didn’t fall asleep!

”Resisted the Yawn?” Clair was slightly surprised, but she didn’t regret it, for her plan had already succeeded!

”Kingdra, now’s the time, use Ice Beam while Dragonite isn’t fully alert!”

Upon receiving the instruction, a cold beam formed in Kingdra’s mouth.

The next moment, that beam blasted forth, its intense chill instantly freezing the falling rain and striking toward Dragonite with fierce momentum.

Hit by the beam, Dragonite was instantly awakened by the pain, displaying an extremely pained expression and even lost the ability to fly, crashing to the ground.

The powerfully intense Ice Beam critically injured Dragonite!

Seeing this, Naoki slightly furrowed his brow.

Something’s wrong! How is that Ice Beam so powerful?

Clair, seeming to sense his confusion, smiled and explained: ”My Kingdra has the Sniper ability!”

The Sniper ability makes the power of a Pokemon’s moves significantly stronger when they hit a critical point.

”However, Dragonite managed to stand up even after that hit... Could its ability be Multiscale?” Clair speculated.

Naoki sighed: ”Looks like we have to give it our all as well.”

”Then please bring it on! Predecessor!” Clair loudly commanded: ”Kingdra, use Ice Beam again!”

”Dragonite, Hurricane!” Naoki’s voice rang out simultaneously.

Dragonite immediately flew into the air, flapping its wings to create a powerful storm.

Instantly, the storm grew even more intense.

The immense force of the wind made it difficult for Kingdra to even maintain its balance.

The Ice Beam it had just gathered in its mouth went completely off course.

Seeing this, Clair realized this was trouble.

She looked at the terrifying storm ahead, unable to help feeling a trace of fear.

Is this the true strength of Naoki the precursor?!

Inwardly greatly surprised, Clair urgently shouted: ”Kingdra, stabilize your stance!”

But the next moment, a clap of thunder suddenly resounded from the sky.

Instinctively, Clair looked up to see an enormous bolt of lightning crashing down from the clouds, with intense spark instantly consuming Kingdra’s body.

At the same time, the massive storm swept in, and immediately, wind, rain, and thunder intertwined and supplemented each other, producing an especially terrifying force.

With a massive ”boom” sound, the ground was scorched by the lightning.

A moment later, the rain gradually subsided.

On the ground, all that remained was the charred Kingdra weakly lying there, its eyes spinning like mosquito coils.
