Chapter 491: Chapter 287: Friends in the Forest and the Berry of Friendship!

After a simple dinner, Naoki and his Pokemon soon fell into a slumber.

Meanwhile, a festive evening party was taking place in the back mountain.

Pokemon like Greedent, Tinkatink, Bellibolt, Maushold, and Grafaiai gathered together.

The bright moonlight shone through the gaps in the leaves, illuminating the forest, where the group of Pokemon sat in the moonlight, each holding a fresh Berry.

Greedent cheerfully exclaimed, ”Cheer!” (I’m going to dig in!)

However, after it spoke, it realized no other Pokemon responded. They were all staring blankly at the Berries, lost in thought.

Greedent was puzzled, ”Cheer?” (Why aren’t you eating?)

Bellibolt blinked its yellow eyes and said, ”Blep...” (Naoki has done so much for us, I want to give him a gift to thank him, but I don’t know what to give...)

Tinkatink nodded, ”Wawa!” (I also want to give a gift to thank Naoki...)

But didn’t know what to give.

The forest had just been rebuilt, and they had nothing.

Thinking about this, the other Pokemon also sighed in low spirits.

Seeing this, Greedent blinked its eyes, looked at the Berry in its hand, and then thought of the Berries it had treasured in the tree hole.

An hour ago, it had successfully dug out a tree hole in a tall, thick tree and hid the Berries it had worked hard to find inside.

”Cheer!” I’ve got it!

At that moment, a light bulb went off in Greedent’s mind.

”Cheer!” (I know what to give!)

”Blep?” (What to give?)

The other Pokemon looked over.

Greedent stood up, raising the Berry in its hand high. Under the moonlight, the ordinary Pecha Berry looked so beautiful.

”Cheer!” (Berries!)

Berries? Hearing this, the other Pokemon looked puzzled.

Berries... Naoki’s ranch also has many. Would he like them?

Greedent nodded repeatedly, ”Cheer!” (He definitely will! As long as we give Naoki those big, round Berries we treasure, he will surely be happy!)

To Greedent, these Berries were its most precious treasures.

Now, it wanted to give these treasures to Naoki to thank him.

”Wawa...” Tinkatink was stunned.

Big, round Berries?

That’s right!

Tinkatink’s eyes suddenly lit up.

They could give the biggest and best Berries they found to Naoki!

So, early the next morning, when Naoki opened the door, he saw Greedent struggling to carry a bundle made from a large leaf sitting on the ground.

Seeing Naoki come out, Greedent’s eyes lit up, and its little paw loosened, causing the large leaf to unfold automatically, with the pile of Berries rumbling and rolling to the eaves.

”Cheer!”

Greedent was startled, quickly using its large tail to scoop up the rolling Berries.

Naoki also squatted down to help, feeling quite surprised to see Greedent so early: ”Why are you here so early?”

Greedent’s small eyes were bright and shiny, ”Cheer!”

It picked up a Berry and pushed it toward Naoki.

Naoki then realized Greedent’s intention: ”Is this for me?”

”Cheer!” That’s right!

Greedent nodded repeatedly and then added, ”Cheer!” It’s from everyone in the forest together!

Watching Greedent imitate Tinkatink waving a hammer, Naoki roughly understood its meaning.

”This was prepared by you and Tinkatink together.”

”Cheer!” Greedent nodded its little head, looking at Naoki expectantly, hoping he would like it.

This was all they had for now...

Seeing Greedent’s expectant little eyes, Naoki smiled slightly and then nodded gently, ”Thank you, I really like it.”

Upon hearing this, Greedent’s eyes immediately became bright.

It wagged its big tail, turned around, and ran off. When it reached the meadow, it stopped again, turned around, and waved its little paw at Naoki.

”Cheer!”

It’s going back to tell everyone that Naoki liked their gift!

”Wait!” Naoki wanted to call it back to give it some Poffins, but Greedent ran so fast that it disappeared in a flash.

”Oh dear,” Naoki sighed in resignation.

Were these little ones’ gifts for him?

Lowering his head to look at the Berries, Naoki’s face suddenly broke into a look of astonishment upon seeing the information about these Berries.

[Friendship Berry: Special ingredient, a Berry filled with the gratitude of Pokemon, symbolizing friendship.

When used in cooking, the dish rank is increased by 1 level, ineffective for dishes already at the level cap.]
