Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 473: Chapter 280: The Greedy Coin Pokémon

That night, Naoki moved those three oak barrels of fruit wine into the Pokemon Tavern.

As business hours arrived, Pokemon from the town gradually came to the tavern.

Naoki was wiping the glasses nearby, while his sister Indeedee enthusiastically greeted the guests.

”Ai y~” (Welcome~)

The two Machamp saw Naoki coming here today and couldn’t help but show a surprised expression.

Naoki glanced at them and asked, ”The tavern has some new arrivals today. Do you want to try them?”

”Nika?” The Machamp exchanged looks with each other.

Naoki then introduced the newly arrived three barrels of fruit wine to them:

”These are wines made from berries. The one on the left is Pecha Berry Wine, it’s sweet and also has the effect of curing poison.”

”The one in the middle is Cheri Berry Wine, with a spicy flavor. Drink a cup in winter and you’ll quickly warm up. It also cures paralysis; if you get stunned by the Stun Spore of Grass Type Pokemon or the Thunder Wave from Electric Type Pokemon, a glass of this will heal you right away.”

”The barrel on the right is Sitrus Berry Wine, it has a sweet and sour taste. If you’re exhausted, drinking a cup will quickly restore your stamina!”

”Nika!”

Upon hearing these effects, the Machamp showed expressions of surprise.

They looked left and right, unsure of what to drink today.

Seeing this, Naoki asked, ”Did you go out to work today?”

”Nika.”

The Machamp shook their heads. Recently, due to heavy snow, Keri took a holiday and has been resting at home, not going out to work.

”I see!” Naoki turned around and picked up two wine glasses, ”Then I recommend you try the Cheri Berry Wine. It’s perfect for this kind of weather.”

”Nika~”

The two Machamp happily agreed. The distance between the ranch and the town wasn’t close, and they had to walk a long way every day. Their muscles had long been frozen stiff by the cold wind and snow.

Naoki poured them two glasses of Cheri Berry Wine, and the Machamp took out a coin from beneath their gold belts and placed it on the table.

Undoubtedly, this was their payment for the wine today.

After paying, the Machamp took their Cheri Berry Wine and went to the table to savor it slowly.

Naoki observed their expressions.

After taking the first sip of the fruit wine, the faces of both Machamp quickly turned visibly red.

Then, they began to breathe heavily.

”Nika!” (Spicy! Very spicy!)

Yet at that moment, one of the Machamp suddenly felt its body warming up rapidly.

And the spicy sensation in its mouth was not as strong as before, instead leaving a feeling of wanting more.

The Machamp was taken aback, ”Nika...!” (Body... warming up)

Naoki smiled at the scene and said to his sister Indeedee next to him, ”Looks like they’ve grown accustomed to Cheri Berry Wine.”

”Ai y~”

Naoki then picked up the coin given by the Machamp.

Initially, he thought it was a small-denomination League coin, but upon closer inspection, he realized it was not a League coin at all but an ancient gold coin!

The gold coin was embossed with uniquely gorgeous patterns, and it looked very valuable.

If it’s a gold coin, it must be worth quite a sum!

Naoki was astonished, wondering where the Machamp had gotten it from?

Thinking of it, Naoki asked them.

Upon hearing the question, one of the Machamp, feeling warm all over, happily responded:

”Nika.” (We found it in the corner of the warehouse.)

”Warehouse? Keri’s warehouse?” Naoki immediately thought of the big house behind Keri’s workshop.

The Machamp nodded: ”Nika~” (That’s right~)

Naoki was speechless: ”...Could it be something passed down from Keri’s ancestors?”

Upon hearing this, the two Machamp understood Naoki’s hint.

They quickly shook their heads: ”Nika Nika!” (No, it wasn’t there before! We just found it in the warehouse yesterday, and Keri gave them to us so we could buy wine at the tavern!)

”I see...” Naoki nodded thoughtfully.

This seems odd, it wasn’t there before, it just appeared yesterday...

Suddenly, a Pokemon’s name came to Naoki’s mind.

Gimmighoul!

It’s a Pokemon that is born from the passion infused in coins!

They always wander around with a coin, hidden in various places in the Paldea Region, but whenever someone approaches, this Pokemon will quickly flee.

That’s why no Trainer in the Paldea Region seems to have successfully captured it yet.

Could this coin be Gimmighoul’s coin?

Naoki had never seen this Pokemon, so he didn’t dare to jump to conclusions.

After pondering for a moment, he placed the coin in a prominent spot on the wine rack.

If it truly is Gimmighoul’s coin, then that Gimmighoul would surely come chasing after it.

Just then, more Pokemon guests arrived at the tavern.

Naoki stopped thinking and began to help his sister Indeedee in entertaining the Pokemon guests.

Once the tavern got busy, the matter of the coin slipped from his mind.

Gradually, as night deepened.

The guests began to leave the tavern one after another, and Naoki closed up the tavern, taking Koraidon and his sister Indeedee home with him.
