Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When Zhao Rong and his group of five heard the pouting boy’s words, they were all stunned speechless.

Zhao Rong said in disbelief, ”Holy crap, is this little mountain village really so magical? Did everyone here skip the Meng Po Soup before they were reincarnated?”

Miss Lili also found it incredibly strange. ”When a person dies and reincarnates, they must drink Meng Po Soup to forget their past life’s memories and start anew in the world,” she said. ”But how could the people in this village have escaped it and still managed to reincarnate? This goes completely against the natural order of things. It’s just too bizarre.”

Yu Lan curiously asked the frowning boy, ”Young man, is this village only full of children? Are there no adults?”

The frowning boy told her, ”Our village is just like any other. We have adults, children, the elderly, and women. We even have people who live to be over a hundred.”

Just then, an eighteen-year-old beauty approached from nearby. She greeted Zhao Rong’s group enthusiastically, ”Guests from afar, welcome! Please, come and visit our village. We’ve recently been developing our economy by focusing on agritourism, so we welcome you to dine, lodge, and spend your money here.”

When Zhao Rong and his assistant saw the village belle approaching, their eyes lit up. ”No way,” they muttered in disbelief. ”To think such a beautiful woman exists in this remote little mountain village.”

The assistant immediately stepped forward and asked her, ”Miss, is your village really running an agritourism business? That’s great! We’re dead tired and would like to get a bowl of steaming hot noodles with minced meat topping and stay for the night. We have to hurry on our journey tomorrow.”

Zhao Rong also asked her curiously, ”Miss, is this village really just like the surrounding ones? Is there anything special about it?”

As she led the group of five toward the village, the belle smiled and explained, ”Although our village is similar to those around it, we do have one unique phenomenon: every villager knows about their past and present lives. That’s because they didn’t drink Meng Po Soup before they were reincarnated.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong asked in astonishment, ”What the hell? This village is truly bizarre.”

As he finished speaking, Zhao Rong suddenly saw a man and a woman fighting at the village entrance. He went forward to break it up, saying, ”Sir, miss, life is short, so why get so worked up? Why not bury the hatchet, share a laugh over a meal, and resolve your grudges?”

Listening to Zhao Rong, the man pointed at the woman and said through clenched teeth, ”Everyone, you don’t understand. This beautiful woman before you? In her past life, she was an ugly man. And me, though I’m a man now, I was a beautiful woman in my last life. And that ugly man, in our past life, forced himself on me! So, in this life, I must have my revenge!”

When Zhao Rong heard what the man said, he was so shocked he fell to the ground. While scrambling back up, Zhao Rong gaped and said, ”Holy crap... I can’t believe the reason you two are fighting is over something from your past lives. That’s an ancient grudge.”

After saying that, Zhao Rong stepped forward, managed to separate the two, and then continued following the village belle toward the center of the village.

However, the group had only taken a few steps when they saw two men fighting at the village entrance—one wielding a kitchen knife and the other an axe. The man with the kitchen knife pointed at the man with the axe and yelled, ”In our last life, you were my husband, but you cheated on me with another woman! I didn’t get the chance to deal with you then, so in this life, I’m going to make sure to sort you out, you scumbag!”

The man with the axe argued back forcefully, ”We may have been married in our last life, and sure, I cheated on you, but you cheated on me first, sneaking around with other men! I wouldn’t have done it otherwise! So, we’re even. Don’t you dare keep hassling me about this!”

When Zhao Rong heard that the two men were fighting because they had been a couple in a past life where both had been unfaithful, he lost all desire to break them up. As he continued walking, Zhao Rong said, ”At first, I thought having memories of a past life was a wonderful thing. But now that I see it only brings pain, not happiness or joy, I think drinking Meng Po Soup when reincarnating is absolutely necessary.”

Miss Lili felt that Zhao Rong was absolutely right. She chimed in, ”Exactly. If a person still remembers their past life, their heart must be full of hatred that can’t be resolved. It’s just a cycle of vengeance. When will it ever end?”

Yu Lan shook her head and said reflectively, ”It seems that no matter what you do, you should follow the natural order of things and let nature take its course. If you deliberately change a part of heaven’s plan, it will certainly lead to huge mistakes and cause great chaos and suffering.”

Xue Lianmei looked at the two men fighting with the kitchen knife and axe with great pity. She sighed, looked up to the heavens, and gave a wry laugh. ”A husband and wife should be like birds in the same forest; why be so eager to destroy one another? As the saying goes, it takes a thousand years of fate to share a boat and ten thousand to share a pillow. If they were husband and wife, they must have been deeply connected. Yet, I never expected that a couple from a past life would come to blows in this one, each wishing to kill the other. It appears that having memories of a past life is truly a terrifying thing.”

Hearing everyone’s opinions, the assistant said thoughtfully, ”This is truly an incredible village. It’s completely shattered my worldview.”

Just then, not far away, a young woman holding a rolling pin was chasing her mother-in-law, cursing as she yelled, ”In our past life, I saved your life! But not only were you ungrateful, you repaid my kindness by stealing the 1,000 dollars our family had saved and running off! Now, I’ll make you repay that grudge in this life!”

Elsewhere, an old man was chasing and beating another old man, cursing loudly, ”In our last life, we agreed to go to the bathhouse together! But you bastard, while I was inside, you called the police on me! I was arrested and detained! So in this life, I’m getting my revenge. I’ll make sure you get locked up and detained for a while, just so you know the suffering of being in prison!”
