Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

While Zhao Rong was recording, his assistant dug the female ghost out of her grave, hoisted her onto his back, and sprinted toward their ice house at top speed. Zhao Rong raced along close behind.

The assistant’s return pace was even faster than when he had first come, shortening the journey considerably. In no time, he arrived at their ice house with the female ghost on his back. He carried her inside, laid her on the bed beside him, and went to sleep.

When Zhao Rong saw that the assistant had actually dug the Polar Evil Spirit up from her grave, brought her back, and was even sharing a bed with her, he was utterly stunned.

My god, if I show the assistant this video tomorrow, he’ll be scared to death... He’s the one who personally dug this female ghost out of her grave, brought her back, and even slept beside her...

With that thought, Zhao Rong continued to huddle in the corner, concealed by the Invisibility Cloak, eager to see what would happen next.

A short while later, the assistant woke with a start. Upon seeing the Polar Evil Spirit sleeping beside him, he leaped out of bed in terror.

”Polar Evil Spirit!” he exclaimed. ”Didn’t you already come last night? Why are you here again tonight?”

Just then, the Polar Evil Spirit, who had been as stiff as a corpse, slowly sat up. She looked at the assistant and spoke in a mournful voice, ”Assistant, it was you who dug me out of my grave. It was you who brought me back here. How can you ask me about something you did yourself?”

The assistant refused to believe her. ”That’s nonsense, Polar Evil Spirit!” he retorted. ”I’m a natural-born coward. How could I possibly go out to a grave in the dead of night, dig up a dead person like you, and bring her back to my house? Have I lost my mind?”

The Polar Evil Spirit laughed. ”Since you don’t believe me, you can figure it out for yourself...”

With that, she got up and prepared to leave the room. At that moment, the assistant suddenly remembered Zhao Rong hiding in the corner in his Invisibility Cloak.

”Zhao Rong!” the assistant yelled. ”I know you’re hiding in the corner! Come out quickly and help me catch this Polar Evil Spirit! If she keeps harassing me every night, I’m really going to be scared to death!”

When the Polar Evil Spirit heard there was someone else in the corner, she immediately spun around. Her eyes fixed on the spot as she stretched her nose, sniffing the air for the scent of another human. However, after a thorough sniff with her keen nose, she concluded that besides the assistant, there was no one else in the ice house.

Just then, the assistant rushed to the corner, searching frantically for Zhao Rong. ”Brother Zhao, enough with the act!” he yelled. ”Hurry up and come out! Didn’t you say you’d help me catch this Polar Evil Spirit? Why are you getting cold feet now that she’s standing right at the door?”

While the assistant was shouting, the Polar Evil Spirit stood at the doorway and smirked. ”Assistant, I know you’re the only one in this room. You’re just pretending someone else is here to scare me, to threaten me into not showing up in your ice house again, right?”

Hearing her words, the assistant said defensively, ”Polar Evil Spirit, I’m not joking! There really is another man in this house! His name is Zhao Rong, and he’s curled up in this corner!”

But the Polar Evil Spirit trusted her keen sense of smell, which still told her the assistant was alone. She mocked him, ”Assistant, keep up the act. There’s no one in this room besides you.”

Hearing this, the assistant grew despondent. Did Brother Zhao Rong lie to me? He said he would use me as a guinea pig and come to my ice house to help me capture the Polar Evil Spirit... Was he all talk and never actually came? Is it really just me, a human, and this evil ghost in here right now?

Before the assistant could finish his thought, the Polar Evil Spirit opened the door to leave. She looked back at him and said, ”Assistant, I’m going now. I hope you won’t dig me out of my grave again tomorrow night and bring me to your ice house to sleep with you.”

The assistant was so angry he gritted his teeth. ”What nonsense are you talking about, Polar Evil Spirit? Even if I had such bizarre tastes, I would never go to your grave, dig you out, and share a bed with you!”

Hearing his denial, the Polar Evil Spirit let out a cold laugh, walked out the door, and vanished into the night.

After she was gone, Zhao Rong immediately took off his Invisibility Cloak and appeared in the corner of the ice house. When the assistant saw him, he exploded with rage.

”Brother Zhao, you were in my house the whole time! Why didn’t you come out just now? You’re such a phony! You said you’d help me, but you just came here to ruin me, humiliate me, and frame me!”

Hearing the misunderstanding in his voice, Zhao Rong explained, ”Assistant, you don’t understand. While I was hiding in the corner, I used the Evil Spirit Detector to assess that ghost’s power. I discovered that she’s an evil spirit with boundless mana. Even if I had jumped out, I would have been no match for her.”

He continued, ”The reason I stayed hidden was so we could wait for her to leave. The two of us will wait in the ice house until dawn. Then we’ll call the three women, find the Polar Evil Spirit’s tomb together, and dig her up in the daylight. After that, we can finally eliminate her. After all, it’s easier to handle things during the day. At night, we’re simply no match for her.”

Listening to Zhao Rong, the assistant was skeptical. ”But we’re in the middle of the vast Arctic Circle, surrounded by nothing but ice and snow. Where are we supposed to find the Polar Evil Spirit’s grave?”

Hearing his worry, Zhao Rong smiled and revealed his plan. ”Assistant, it’s actually very simple to find her grave. We just need to give you some sleeping pills, and you’ll be able to lead us right to it.”
