Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When the assistant and the three beauties heard that Zhao Rong planned to listen to the middle-aged man and descend into the well, they reacted in disbelief.

”Zhao Rong, have you gone mad?” the assistant pleaded, blocking the well’s entrance. ”Do you really want to follow this middle-aged man down there? This well is bottomless. If you go down, you’ll surely die!”

Yu Lan clasped Zhao Rong from behind, holding his waist to stop him. ”Zhao Rong, a 1,000-meter-deep mineshaft requires an oxygen mask and tank! If you go down like this, you’ll definitely suffocate!”

Miss Lili grabbed his clothes, insisting, ”You’ve been speaking utter nonsense. I have to stop you. I can’t let you go down!”

Xuelian even took out two cans of pepper spray, spraying them toward the well. ”Zhao Rong, look how dense the yin energy is in there. Even my pepper spray was dispersed instantly. If you go down, you’re going to your death!”

Just as the assistant and the three women blocked his path, Zhao Rong took off his glasses. He handed them over and said, ”Put these on, look into the well, and then you’ll agree to let me go.”

Hearing this, the assistant took the glasses, put them on, and stared into the well. He exclaimed in surprise, ”Zhao Rong, what kind of glasses are these? They’re magical! I can see straight to the bottom from here!”

”They’re called Stratum Penetrating Glasses,” Zhao Rong explained. ”When you wear them, you can see 1,500 meters underground.”

When the three beauties heard how magical the glasses were, they scrambled forward, snatched them from the assistant’s face, and took turns looking down the well. What they saw shocked them.

Miss Lili went first. She took the glasses off and looked at Zhao Rong in alarm. ”You were right! There really is an Underground Dark River at the bottom of this deep well, and next to it, there’s a small wooden boat!”

Yu Lan then took the Stratum Penetrating Glasses from Miss Lili, put them on, and looked at the ground beneath her feet. When she saw the rich oil reserves in the strata below, she screamed, ”Zhao Rong, we’re rich! I can see the oil deposits underground with these glasses!”

Xuelian snatched the glasses from Yu Lan, put them on, and looked toward a large tree nearby. She immediately spotted rich coal deposits beneath it and rushed over excitedly, pointing at the spot under the tree. ”Zhao Rong, Assistant, Lili, Yu Lan, come quickly! I’ve found coal here! If we start a mine, we’ll become billionaires!”

Just then, the assistant ran over, took the Stratum Penetrating Glasses from Xuelian, and put them on. He dashed to a nearby pile of rocks, looked down into the ground, and boasted, ”My god, this is my lucky day! Guess what kind of mineral deposit I found under this rock pile?”

Curious, Zhao Rong asked, ”Assistant, did you find iron ore or copper ore?”

The assistant shook his head with a look of disdain. ”Zhao Rong, you’re underestimating my discovery skills. You know these glasses can see 1,500 meters deep... Guess again! What amazing mineral did I find 1,500 meters below this pile of rocks?”

”You just found some underground oil or coal. What’s the big deal?” Miss Lili said, unconvinced.

The assistant shook his head with a smug look. ”I’m not interested in finding oil and coal; those are just energy resources. When I find something, I find something valuable.”

”Assistant, did you find Hetian jade under those rocks?” Yu Lan guessed.

”How much is Hetian jade worth? I’m not interested,” he scoffed. ”Guess again. It’s definitely worth more than that.”

Xuelian stepped forward, pointed at the diamond ring on her finger, and said, ”Assistant, you must have found a diamond deposit deep in the strata under these rocks, right?”

At this, the assistant roared with laughter. ”Xuelian is the smart one! You guessed it! I really found diamonds here!”

With that, he rushed to the edge of the well, ready to be the first one down.

Zhao Rong grabbed him. ”Assistant, you’re not even holding the rope! Are you trying to fall to your death?”

”But I’m the one who found the diamonds down there!” the assistant said anxiously. ”I’m telling you, since I discovered them, they’re all mine! I have to go down this well, get to the An River, get that boat, and find those diamonds! Then I’ll be fabulously wealthy! I’ll become the richest man in the world, maybe even the universe!”

Ignoring all advice, the assistant grabbed the hemp ropes and began to slowly make his way down into the well.

When Zhao Rong saw that the assistant had already started his descent, he turned to the three women. ”Since he’s gone down, we should go too. But before we descend into this 1,000-meter-deep well, we must put on oxygen tanks and masks, and take flashlights. We also need to wear parachutes. Only then can we guarantee our safety.”

As he spoke, Zhao Rong took some miniature oxygen tanks and masks from his Magic Ring and had the three women put them on. Once the women had equipped their masks, tanks, and parachutes, they followed Zhao Rong and the middle-aged man, slowly descending into the well.

Just as Zhao Rong’s group was about to reach the bottom, they suddenly heard a bloodcurdling scream from the assistant, who had gone down first.

”MOMMY! HELP! DON’T COME DOWN!”

Hearing his terrified cry, Miss Lili guessed, ”Could there be some kind of monster at the bottom of this well? Otherwise, he wouldn’t be screaming his head off like that.”

Yu Lan speculated, ”I think there must be ghosts down there. Why else would he be screaming so horribly?”

Xuelian, however, offered a different theory. ”If you ask me, there must be a beautiful woman at the bottom. Otherwise, why would he sound so worked up? Haven’t you noticed? His cries aren’t screams of terror. They’re the ecstatic shouts of someone reaching a climax.”
