Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

But before the assistant could finish shouting, he saw the mermen on his boat suddenly struck by arrows and fall into the water one by one. It turned out that at this critical moment, Zhao Rong, Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian had come to the rescue in another lifeboat, rowing over with bows and arrows drawn.

When the assistant saw Zhao Rong and the three women coming to save him, he cried out, ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re too good to me! You saved my life yet again, sparing me from these vile mermen...”

Zhao Rong frantically fired at the mermen appearing in the water. ”Assistant,” he said while shooting, ”you’re not only recklessly lustful but simple-minded too. Did you actually believe that ’fatty’? Couldn’t you tell it was a carp spirit and not a human?”

Upon hearing this, the assistant was utterly shocked. He looked toward the private yacht and, sure enough, saw the carp spirit tied to the prow. He gasped, ”Brother Zhao Rong, you knew all along that the fatty was a carp spirit?”

By then, Zhao Rong had already killed dozens of mermen. He told the assistant, ”The fatty used a spell to hide its true form, but didn’t you notice the carp scales on its body?”

Miss Lili then consoled him, ”Assistant, don’t be scared. We didn’t tell you the fatty was a carp spirit because we needed it to lead us into these dangerous waters.”

The assistant was still confused. ”Miss Lili, did you know it was a carp spirit beforehand?”

Miss Lili smiled. ”We not only knew it was a carp spirit, but we also guessed it would try to seduce you into bringing it here, to this dangerous area infested with mermen.”

”But if you knew it was so dangerous, why did you come?” the assistant asked, even more baffled.

Yu Lan loosed three arrows in quick succession, felling three more mermen. She explained, ”This magical sea is called the Men’s Doom Sea; you can find it on a map. Brother Zhao Rong came here specifically to eliminate the mermen and make these waters safe again. He wants to ensure merchant ships can pass through without suffering the same horrific fates as those before.”

Countless tragedies had occurred in these waters, with crew members slaughtered and captains dismembered. They all met a gruesome end after seeing what they thought was a mermaid’s silhouette and diving into the water for a conquest. By the time they realized the ’mermaids’ were actually male, it was too late. These mermen are naturally bloodthirsty. Once they find a man, they drain his vital essence before killing and consuming him.

Hearing how cruel the mermen were, the assistant couldn’t help but think of piranhas from the Amazon River. Gritting his teeth, he looked at the dead mermen floating in the water and said with lingering fear, ”My god, Brother Zhao Rong... If that’s true, these things are even more vicious than Amazon piranhas!”

”You’re sharp, Assistant,” Zhao Rong replied. ”You guessed it. These mermen are transformed from Amazon piranhas that have cultivated themselves.”

The assistant’s eyes widened. He took a closer look at the ones Zhao Rong had killed and saw their teeth were identical to a piranha’s.

”No wonder they’re so cruel...” the assistant said in horror. ”They all transformed from piranhas! Brother Zhao Rong, now I understand why you came to this dangerous sea. You’re really doing this for everyone, killing these piranha-mermen!” With that, the assistant grabbed a paddle and began thrashing at the mermen still alive in the water.

Just as Zhao Rong’s group finished off the last of the mermen, a thousand more suddenly surfaced in the distance, leaving them all dumbstruck.

At that moment, the carp spirit tied to the yacht’s bow burst out laughing. ”Zhao Rong and company! So clever for a lifetime, yet so foolish in a single moment. Did you honestly think you could come here, kill all the mermen, and make these waters safe again? You simple-minded fools! You’ve grossly underestimated us! Let me tell you, we mermen gather our true power only when we swarm. Then, we can kill anyone who enters our territory, no matter how strong. We kill them, eat them, and leave not even a scrap behind!”

Hearing the carp spirit’s taunts, the assistant burst into tears. ”Brother Zhao Rong, it’s all my fault!” he sobbed. ”I was too greedy and lustful! I listened to that carp spirit and brought us right into this death trap...”

The three women looked terrified as well. ”Brother Zhao Rong, a few dozen mermen were manageable with our bows, but how can we possibly deal with thousands? Are we supposed to shoot them all down one by one?”

Suddenly, the assistant remembered the Dinosaur Slaying Gun in Zhao Rong’s Magic Ring. He blurted out, ”Brother Zhao Rong, what about your Dinosaur Slaying Gun? Hurry, take it out and shoot these mermen!”

Zhao Rong shook his head. ”The Dinosaur Slaying Gun is powerful on land, but its laser is useless in water. We can’t use it now.”

When the assistant and the three women heard the gun was useless, they broke down crying. But as they wept, Zhao Rong smiled. He took a strange creature from his pocket and showed it to them.

”Do you know what a piranha’s natural predator is? I’m going to use this very creature to wipe out every last one of these piranhas-turned-mermen.”
