Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Beauty Xuelian, with her eyes closed and teeth clenched, mumbled, ”I’m so sleepy... Big Brother Zhao Rong, please turn off the lights for us. We’re going to sleep...”

After Zhao Rong turned off the lights for the three women, he realized there were only three beds in the room. With each beauty occupying one bed, he had no place to sleep. Left with no other choice, Zhao Rong made a makeshift bed on the floor beneath the television and lay down.

As soon as he lay on the floor, a wave of drowsiness washed over him. However, when he closed his eyes, he felt as if he were still on the boat, drifting and swaying on the sea. While his mind replayed the scenes from the ocean, Zhao Rong turned over. As he did, he found himself facing the space under Miss Lili’s bed. Although she was sleeping on a Simmons mattress, the bed itself was supported by a simple steel wire frame, leaving the area underneath completely empty.

Zhao Rong’s sleepiness vanished. Staring into the pitch-black space, he thought, The old sanitation worker said that if you fall asleep in the dead of night, a ghost will reach a hand out from under the bed. I wonder if that’s true.

Just as he was puzzling over this, sleep finally overcame him, and his eyes fluttered shut.

While Zhao Rong and the three beauties were all sound asleep and snoring, the assistant in the room next door was also fast asleep.

As the minutes ticked by, it soon reached two in the morning.

Just as the assistant was in a deep sleep, he suddenly felt someone tickling the sole of his foot. He woke with a start, immediately recalling the old sanitation worker’s words. In the dead of night, when you’re sound asleep, a ghost will reach out a hand from under the bed.

Unable to resist, the assistant peered under his bed. But when he turned on the light to check, he found it was completely empty. There was nothing there. So, he switched off the light and lay back down to sleep.

However, the moment he drifted off again, he felt someone scratching the sole of his foot once more. Startled awake again, he turned on the light and checked under the bed. But after a thorough inspection, he still found nothing. The space was empty. The assistant climbed back into bed and tried to sleep again.

This time, however, he was more cautious. After climbing into bed and turning off the light, he pretended to be asleep, even faking a few snores. The instant he started snoring, he again felt someone poking the sole of his foot. The assistant feigned turning over and slowly opened his eyes.

He was horrified by what he saw. This haunted hotel was genuinely haunted. By the faint moonlight filtering through the window, the assistant clearly saw a dead person’s hand reaching out from under the bed, scratching the bottom of his foot. He let out a terrified scream, ”There’s a ghost! It’s really haunted! A real ghost!”

With that, the assistant flicked on the room’s light and bolted out the door. As he fled, the dwarf, who was still locked in the portable cell, cried out, ”Assistant, don’t leave me behind! You’re afraid of ghosts, but aren’t I afraid too?”

The assistant paid him no mind. He slammed the door shut, turned off the light, and locked it from the outside. Then, he ran to the room where Zhao Rong and the three women were staying and began knocking frantically.

The loud banging instantly woke Zhao Rong and the three beauties. Zhao Rong was the first to wake up. He sat up groggily and listened to the knocking. ”Dammit,” he muttered, ”is this place really haunted? Why else would the assistant be banging on our door in the middle of the night...”

Miss Lili, jolted from her dream, screamed, ”Help! There’s a ghost! The place is haunted!”

Terrified, Yu Lan dove under her covers and refused to come out. ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, save me! There really is a ghost!”

Meanwhile, Beauty Xuelian quickly pulled out two cans of pepper spray and began spraying them wildly into the air. ”This pepper spray is a Divine Artifact!” she declared. ”It scares away demons and monsters, so ghosts must be afraid of it too!”

Just then, Zhao Rong turned on the light and let the assistant in. The man stumbled inside, his face pale with fright and his forehead drenched in a cold sweat. ”Big Brother Zhao Rong,” he stammered, ”this hotel... it’s really haunted! I just saw it with my own eyes!”

He then described it to Zhao Rong and the three women: a ghostly hand slowly extending from under his bed.

Upon hearing the assistant’s story, the three women scrambled over to Zhao Rong in terror. ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, what do we do? This hotel really is haunted!”

Zhao Rong comforted them, ”Even if the hotel is haunted, the ghost hasn’t hurt anyone, and it certainly doesn’t eat people. Look, the assistant just got his foot tickled by a ghost, but he’s perfectly fine, completely unharmed.”

With that, Zhao Rong turned to the assistant. ”Since your room is haunted, let’s switch. I’ll stay in your room, on your bed. You stay here with the three ladies and protect them.”

When the women heard that Zhao Rong was going next door to catch a ghost and leaving the assistant with them, they immediately objected. ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, how can you leave the assistant in a room with us? That guy is a coward! He’s scared to death of ghosts. How can he protect us?”

Hearing that they didn’t want him to go, Zhao Rong reassured them. ”Don’t be afraid. Even though I’m leaving this room, I’ll be right next door. If I hear any unusual noise from your side, I’ll use the Through-the-Wall Mechanical Hand to come straight through the wall to protect you.”

The three women relaxed upon hearing that Zhao Rong would be just next door, listening for any sign of trouble. The thought that he would instantly use his high-tech Through-the-Wall Mechanical Hand to come save them was especially reassuring.

Miss Lili let out a long sigh of relief. ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, please be careful while you’re catching the ghost next door. Don’t let it hurt you.”

Yu Lan added, ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, if you hear us screaming, you have to come through the wall immediately to save us! The assistant is useless; he can’t possibly protect us.”

Beauty Xuelian even handed Zhao Rong her two cans of pepper spray. ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, if the ghost is too tough to handle, just use these on it. That way, it won’t dare come near you.”

Zhao Rong nodded, thanked the three women, and walked over to the assistant’s room.
