Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Lili looked at the thousands of electric eels thrashing about energetically in the water and said to Zhao Rong, ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, what should we do with these electric eels? They’re not malicious, so we can’t just kill them…”

The assistant thought of a plan and said, ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, why don’t we catch all these electric eels and send them to the zoo? Who knows, we might even make a fortune from it…”

Yu Lan disagreed. ”These electric eels can produce electric shocks. How are we supposed to catch them? Right now, the surface of the sea is so dangerous that even a slight touch could electrocute us to death. The voltage is just too high.”

Xuelian had a great idea. ”Big Brother,” she said to Zhao Rong, ”didn’t you say that electric eels are the bane of piranhas? Why don’t we release all these electric eels back into the piranha-infested rivers of the Amazon rainforest? We can let the electric eels wipe out those piranhas. What do you think?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong was thrilled with Xuelian’s suggestion and exclaimed, ”Xuelian, your idea is simply brilliant! The merman bodies we launched earlier must have already been devoured by those piranhas. That means the piranhas are full and sleeping in the river right now. If we release these electric eels back there, they could kill off all those satiated piranhas in an instant. This way, we kill two birds with one stone. Why wouldn’t we do it?”

Saying this, Zhao Rong immediately took out a small package and a small rocket from his pocket. When the assistant saw Zhao Rong suddenly produce another package and rocket, he asked in astonishment, ”Big Brother, didn’t you only buy one small package and one small rocket from the Paradise Shopping Cart? How did you suddenly get another set?”

Hearing the assistant’s question, Zhao Rong awkwardly explained, ”There’s something you don’t know. I’ve learned the ’buy one, get one free’ trick on the Paradise Shopping Cart. Whenever I buy something, I immediately give it a bad review. To get me to remove the review, the seller sends me another identical item for free. So, these were a gift from the store; I didn’t buy them.”

As he spoke, Zhao Rong quickly took out the small package and bundled all the electric eels from the sea’s surface into it. Then, he attached the package to the small rocket and lit its fuse.

The small rocket flew thousands of miles into the Amazon rainforest and plunged into the freshwater river teeming with piranhas.

At that moment, the piranhas, having gorged themselves on the merman bodies, were sleeping soundly in the river. After eating the mermen, they had even begun their cultivation. Some of the piranhas were dreaming as they slept.

I thought I’d have to cultivate for a thousand years to become a merman, but a windfall dropped right out of the sky—so many cultivated merman bodies! After we eat these, our cultivation speed will increase a hundredfold! That way, when we wake up, we can immediately transform into mermen! Then, we’ll leave the Amazon rainforest and go eat people in the sea…

Just as the piranhas were lost in their daydreams, the electric eels falling from the sky unleashed their power. In an instant, the electrical charge in the entire Amazon River shot from zero to 360,000 volts. The well-fed piranhas were electrocuted to death in their sleep.

From that day on, there were no longer any piranhas in the freshwater rivers of the Amazon rainforest, and in that particular area of the ocean, no more mermen were ever seen.

Once Zhao Rong and his group had dealt with the mermen and electric eels, they returned to their private yacht.

The Carp Spirit, who was tied to the bow, had witnessed them annihilate thousands of mermen. Terrified, he fell to his knees and begged for mercy. ”Big Brother, Grandfather, Grandmother, Auntie, Uncle, I, the Carp Spirit, was blind to your greatness! I planned to lead you into these waters to be eaten by the mermen, but I never expected you to be so powerful that you could wipe out thousands of them in one fell swoop, leaving none behind and nearly driving them to extinction! Please spare me! I promise I will lead you to Deadly Island!”

Zhao Rong looked at the Carp Spirit and asked curiously, ”You’re a spirit transformed from a carp, but why were you mixed up with these mermen who evolved from piranhas?”

Hearing Zhao Rong’s question, the Carp Spirit explained with a pained expression, ”Big Brother, you don’t understand. I used to live in that same river in the Amazon rainforest. One day, I was caught by a school of piranhas. Just as they were about to eat me, a miracle happened! In an instant, the piranhas preparing to eat me transformed into mermen…”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Rong said with amazement, ”Carp Spirit, you’re pretty lucky to have encountered such good fortune at the brink of death. Since those piranhas suddenly succeeded in their transformation into mermen, did you also absorb some of their spiritual energy and transform into a carp spirit?”

Listening to Zhao Rong, the Carp Spirit nodded frantically. ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, you’re so smart! You guessed it exactly right…” he said, giving Zhao Rong a foolish smile.

However, before the Carp Spirit could finish, Zhao Rong stepped forward, punched him to the ground, and then pinned him by stepping on his neck. ”It seems, Carp Spirit, you’re not an honest creature after all,” Zhao Rong said coldly. ”Even though I was about to forgive you, you dared to spin such a colossal lie.”

When the assistant saw Zhao Rong suddenly attacking the Carp Spirit, he asked, puzzled, ”Big Brother, he already admitted his mistake and told you his whole story. Why are you still beating him? I think you should just let him go.”

The three women also felt sympathy for the spirit. ”We often fish for carp,” they said. ”Carp are generally good fish, aren’t they? Just let it go, Big Brother Zhao Rong.”

But just as everyone was feeling sympathetic, Zhao Rong peeled the skin right off the Carp Spirit’s body. Before their eyes, the ”Carp Spirit” instantly transformed into a merman.

When the assistant and the three women saw that the creature was not a carp at all, but a merman that had evolved from a piranha, they were all stunned into disbelief.

The assistant stepped forward, examined the creature carefully, and nodded. He then said to Zhao Rong, ”Big Brother Zhao Rong, you truly have the Eyes of Golden Flame—you’re even sharper than Sun Wukong! How did you figure out that this ’Carp Spirit’ was actually a merman wearing a carp spirit’s skin as a disguise?”
