Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1536: Chapter 9 Volume 37: Blitzkrieg (20)

A journey of a hundred miles begins with ninety.

Fatty feels that he understands this saying quite deeply.

It’s like doing that kind of thing, no matter how much you stir things up before, reaching for heaven and earth, and dying for ecstasy, you still need that final shiver!

Since departing from Frenso Town, along the way, the bandit army has consecutively broken through five major battle zones. Now, the only obstacle in their path is the Suss 21st Army Group. Once they kick it aside, the bandit army will lead a massive force of over ten divisions flooding into the Sunset Mountain Basin.

Afterward, an unstoppable surge of ecstasy follows.

Outside the window, a Marti Wild Boar specific to Leifeng Star is perched on a sow, vigorously huffing and puffing. Its hind legs tremble like a sieve, with absolute pride, completely ignoring the mechanical teams passing by.

Fatty’s face is almost glued to the porthole, mesmerized.

It’s a good omen!

”Fatty.” Bonnie, clutching an electronic clipboard, calls out as she bends down curiously following his gaze outside the window.

The mechas haven’t rounded the mountain yet, but the two wild pigs bathed in sunset mid-mountain, the blissful appearance and the sneaky hand on the voluptuous hip make the red-haired beauty’s face resemble the fiery clouds in the horizon.

”Second Division Second Group and 3rd Group have reached First-tier Sky Canyon.” Bonnie shoves Fatty’s hand away, rolls her eyes, and slams the clipboard into his arms.

Fatty dejectedly opens the clipboard, feeling overwhelmed with emotion...people in chaotic times are not as good as pigs.

Within the clipboard is a report from Stewart’s Second Armored Division.

As the main vanguard, they have already reached the First-tier Sky Canyon defended by Suss 2111 Division’s 1st Group, deploying battle formations, preparing to launch a strong assault.

Fatty rises and walks to the electronic map display.

Amidst the mountains, the First-tier Sky Canyon, located nine kilometers from 49 Peak, resembles a strategic bottleneck holding back the bandit army’s main northern advance.

Evidently, the Suss 21st Army Group intends to use 2111 Division’s 1st Group to hold First-tier Sky to delay the bandit army’s northern march, buying time for their main force to seize the 49 Peak stronghold.

Such a cunning plan. Fatty scoffs, his mouth nearly twisting to his ear.

The current bandit army is no longer the weak force that could only retreat in the Mezrich Battle, only struggling in the Mars Free Port.

This is a monster growing through war. Even in the short span from Frenso Town to here, it has been relentlessly tempered in blood and fire; every setback, every battle, every victory turns into nutrients it absorbs.

It continually expands, continually refines its claws and sharpens its killing skills! Even the creator of this bandit army is unsure what this terrifying war beast will mature into.

The First Armored Division and Second Armored Division of the bandit army are its utmost elite.

They comprise battle-hardened Leray veterans and skillful Mars desperados.

When they unite, mutual trust arises. When they pilot Rangers surpassing the Tenth Generation Divine Gift, they charge unfettered. How many in this world are qualified to stand in their way?!

If the Commander of Suss 21st Army Group believes that with a canyon and a regular armored group, they can halt the bandit army’s advance, then he is too naive!

Fatty checks the time; at this moment, the Maple Slope skirmish by the Second Division’s First Group has likely commenced, and Rashid’s First Armored Division should be maneuvering near to attack position.

This is the last of the Six Major Battlezones.

If the string of victories since Frenso Town is largely attributed to unexpected tactics and the command of Bonnie and himself, then this final battle is pure head-to-head confrontation!

This battle won’t be easy.

However, since accepting the mission to Leifeng Star, there is no turning back.

Fatty contemplates silently, his signature silly grin faded.

His fingertips seem to have touched the final victory of this campaign. So, eradicate every enemy obstructing their path and seize it tightly.

”Let Stewart commence.”

Night falls, and the cabin lights illuminate. Fatty turns his head, looking at his reflection in the window; countless Leray Warriors charge forward courageously in his mind.

The resounding Leray bugle call echoes by his ears.

When will he return to that land of his own?

”Give him ten minutes.” Fatty’s eyes narrow slightly, ”We don’t have much time left.”

Liu Cheng manipulates the mecha control lever.

As the control lever rotates, the massive and heavy upper body of the [Night] Heavy Mecha beneath him slowly rotates.

On both sides of the transparent cockpit cover, white light rapidly spews forth; six 150mm airborne energy cannons extend six light chains, the shells sweep trees and rocks away, leaving desolation.

Liu Cheng forcefully pushes the control lever, and the gigantic Chuckna Heavy Mecha, under the copilot’s coordination, strides onto a small hill.

”Activate Fortress Mode!” Liu Cheng commands.

”Understood!” The fire control officer responds loudly, violently pulling down the activation lever.

”Secondary guns online,” the secondary gunner swiftly toggles switches on the control console, reporting breathlessly, ”Missile Rack No.1 deployed, Missile Rack No.2 deployed, area attack system activated....”

Beside the secondary gunner, the main gunner tightly grips the main gun control lever, staring intently at the fire control screen, firing wildly with the fire control officer’s assistance.
