Chapter 1520: Chapter 32: Blitzkrieg (15)_2

An excellent Commander can resist enemies several times their own size. And a genius-level Commander can achieve victory with even one-tenth or one-percent of the opponent’s strength.

Wisdom is the heaviest weight on the scales of war!

”Commander!”

A sudden, urgent shout interrupted Owens’ thoughts.

Turning back, he saw three battered Spirit Cat Mechas swiftly passing through the busy trenches manned by Engineering Mechas, rushing toward him.

Seeing the splattered mud flying up to his feet, Owens frowned and said sternly, ”What’s happening?”

”We were ambushed by a bandit army reconnaissance squad,” the Mechanical Warrior, drenched in sweat and full of fear and shame, bowed his head and said, ”Only the three of us escaped back.”

”Oh?” Owens’s expression grew serious; without asking about the specific battle process, he walked quickly to the electronic map and asked, ”Where did you encounter the enemy? Where is the enemy’s main force now? Are there any signs of splitting their forces to attack us?”

”Here,” a leading Reconnaissance Soldier pulled a recorder from his Mecha and handed it to the staff officer beside him, pointing to a region ten kilometers away on the electronic map. ”The enemy’s main force is advancing north along the Tulun River at a rapid speed. The vanguard has already extended to the right flank, and at least two Armored Camps are approaching my position.”

”Two camps?” Owens was a bit puzzled.

If the bandit army intends to quickly eliminate the threats along the way, they should by rights extend enough forces to the right flank for an attack. Even if they don’t engage in battle, they need enough forces to establish a watch line, wary of the surrounding Jiepeng Army’s assaults.

The opposing Commander seems recklessly dismissive of the surrounding Jiepeng Army’s watchful presence. By using just two camps to take down a position guarded by a reorganized regiment, they are being overconfident, and it does not align with efficient troop deployment!

Does he really believe Admiral Beize only placed these units here and has no bigger backup ahead on their path?

”Boom”

A sudden Energy Cannon shell landed on the front line, the violent shockwave spreading sand and dust in all directions, spraying soil high into the air.

”Enemy attack!”

Came so quickly! Owens was startled and shook off the confusion in his mind, flipping up into the Mecha and shouted loudly.

”All personnel, get ready for combat!”

”Admiral, the bandit army’s vanguard has spread out and is launching attacks on all our major positions.”

At the Jiepeng 25 Army Group’s headquarters, the light flickering across hundreds of screens, the bustling sounds of the staff officers working combined into a continuous cacophony in the hall.

On the Central Command Platform, a group of Senior Officers were tensely monitoring about a dozen staff officers in front of the electronic map and Beize Xian, who was commanding troops to battle at simulation computers.

At this point, they seemed to be outside the commanding tier, watching with an onlooker’s perspective as the ”brain” centered on Beize Xian swiftly dispatched orders to the frontline troops.

On the main SkyNet screen, everything was a fiery red. The battlefield was continuously expanding. The positions located on each mountaintop path north of Eagle Mountain had already engaged with the fiercely attacking bandit army. Meanwhile, troops from several other divisions of the 25 Army Group were being redeployed along the Tulun River line.

”Admiral Beize is planning to delay the bandit army’s progress with positions along the line and then use Feisha Valley as a defensive line to block their route!”

In front of the large screen, several generals were discussing in whispers.

”Look, as soon as our forces seize positions along the line, the bandit army’s speed slows down.” A Vice Admiral pointed at the real-time situation map, saying to his companions, ”They’ve already fallen into Admiral Beize’s controlled rhythm, forced to split forces to expand and guard the passage. Heh, managing multi-front battles, who could rival Admiral Beize.”

The Vice Admiral looked around, somewhat smug: ”Speed is their lifeline. Once the battle becomes a deadlock and the main force’s advancement slows, aside from Admiral Beize’s deployment at Wolf Mountain and Gyroscope Valley, Feisha Valley itself is an impassable chasm for them!”

”Following Admiral Beize is a fortune for us soldiers.” A Major General, admiringly gazing at Beize Xian on the command platform, praised, ”The tactical points for each unit are detailed and precise, and the coordination between them seamless. If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have believed that all these battle plans came from Admiral Beize alone.”

”Indeed!” the previous-speaking Vice Admiral, somewhat excited, pointed at the electronic map beside him, ”Everyone looks at the position of the 2523 regiment’s location here.”

Noting his companions’ gathering attention, he quickly elaborated, ”Initially, I didn’t understand why Admiral Beize required the regiment to abandon another strategically more important position two kilometers away and seize this place to establish a defensive position. Now looking at the overall deployment by Admiral Beize, I realize the entire battle situation, neatly coordinated, is all within Admiral Beize’s mind.”

Saying this, the Vice Admiral quickly picked up the electronic pointer, demonstrating as he spoke, ”Look, at present, the bandit army’s two Armored Camps have launched an attack on the position of the regiment. Haha, not even considering whether it’s overreaching to attack a position defended by an armored unit with inferior forces, just see that the two camps’ current location has, in fact, fallen within our army’s encirclement.”

The Vice Admiral moved the markers representing the bandit army’s two camps and the regiment’s position together, and the program swiftly conducted a battle simulation. The results showed that within half an hour, the bandit army’s two Armored Camps could not breach the position at all. Meanwhile, to their east, two Jiepeng Armored Camps had completed their maneuver, forming a double envelopment.
