Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1506: Chapter 9-27: Blitz (10)_2

Bonnie’s voice was as soft as a gentle breeze. She knew that Fatty, who could never ignore the tragic scenes, had once again begun to feel lost about the future.

This small citizen with a love for life was an anomaly in this war. Time after time, he created miracles, gathering people who were once strangers to him and leading them to where they stood today.

However, those who understood his nature always had a certain worry.

Because no one knew when this Fatty, who was so out of place with the war yet bore such a heavy burden, would collapse.

”It’s not that simple.” Fatty shook his head, his voice somewhat wooden, ”Resources, religion, race, hatred, politics... these damn things will never cease!”

”Did you see that child with the broken leg?”

Bonnie saw on the other end of the mecha team, a ragged mecha raising its arm. She heard Fatty’s voice coming through the headset.

”He’s only two or three years old.”

”Even if we conquer Sunset Mountain and defeat Bellif, beyond him there’s still Rosenberg, there’s still Mikami Yuto! Even if we defeat the Suss Jiepeng, there’s still Desic, there’s still the Naga Federation, there’s still that damn Sobel...”

Bonnie pinched the earpiece with her fingers, wanting to say something, but ultimately remained silent.

Yes, as Fatty said, this human-engulfing war was too vast, too cruel. Tens of human countries fought with all their might, and it couldn’t end in just a decade or two.

Even if Fatty was accompanied by Hastings, even if he had an army that could now constrain the Judgers, the Fei Alliance still had countless others plotting their own schemes, countless politicians hiding in comfortable cities, indifferent to tragedies occurring tens of millions of light-years away.

Hamilton, Russell, Li Cunxin, Hastings... these people, step by step pushed Fatty to the very front, and this terrified small citizen faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges.

For a moment, Bonnie didn’t know how to comfort Fatty.

Any words were so pale in the face of the vast fleets and overwhelming armored clusters of the Western Alliance’s great empires.

Staring blankly at the rundown mecha across the street, she worried a bit. Let alone Fatty, even replacing him with a generation of great generals, how many could have persisted until now?

After a long while, Fatty’s voice came through the independent channel.

”Bonnie, order the troops to speed up!”

Hearing this line, Bonnie breathed a sigh of relief. Although she didn’t know what Fatty had figured out, at least he didn’t back down at this critical moment.

She was about to turn around to give orders but then heard Fatty muttering to himself.

”What kind of world is this, damn it, if this keeps going, when will I dare to have a son?”

”Bonnie has two, Ann Lei has two, Milan has two...”

Bonnie, both embarrassed and angry, spat lightly.

Worrying about this heartless bastard, purely redundant!

In the face of this guy’s most ridiculous and simplest way of thinking, what is so-called heaviness and gloom, are all so laughable.

Across the vast western front of Phoenix City, squads of Chuckna troops leaped from the defense positions they maintained and joined the sweeping Fei Alliance forces at the battlefront.

Saint John Town Battle Zone, Beiqi Mountain Battle Zone, Billy Town Battle Zone...

Leading the charge, this ever-growing army led by the bandit army surged forward unstoppably.

Billy Town was the third battle zone since they had launched from Frenso Town. The enemy Su Army’s 92nd Armored Division stationed there, the Aviation Marine Corps’ 34th Brigade, were just ordinary second-level units.

After defeating Saint John Town, the bandit army’s strength increased to nine divisions. After defeating the Beiqi Mountain zone, 33 kilometers north of Saint John Town, they added another Mechanical Infantry and two more armored groups. By the time they reached Billy Town, the bandit army had, in fact, held an overwhelming might as if Mount Tai was pressing down.

In a lightning breakthrough from the bandit army’s two armored divisions, and the crushing advance of larger forces including three divisions of the Feiyang 33rd Army, the five Suss Armored Groups in the Beiqi Mountain zone and the two divisions in Billy Town collapsed at the first touch.

Past Billy Town, there were no more towns ahead.

The Charloks Mountain Range extended slowly upward from the northeast of Billy Town.

In the next three battle zones, the bandit army would face the Jiepeng 25th Army Group, and the Suss 21st Army Group.

The Jiepeng 25th Army Group consisted of three corps totaling eight armored divisions with a total strength of nearly 60,000 people, of which 48,000 were combat personnel. The average combat personnel per division was as high as 6,000. This was not uncommon in the Jiepeng Army, which had a super-large organization.

The 25th Army Group primarily attacked the 4th War Zone and the 5th Combat Zone — the vast area 170 kilometers to 285 kilometers north of Frenso Town.

The defensive line, that the Fei Alliance Joint Army guards, located at the Charloks Mountain Range’s highest peak, was called Lance Peak, hence this north-south straight line of 115 kilometers, with an actual length of over 200 kilometers was also referred to as the Lance Line of Defense.

The Suss 21st Army Group, in turn, mainly attacked the 6th War Zone, the Charloks Battlefield which the 33rd Army was responsible for defending.

Bellif in this area, had deployed two corps of the 21st Army Group with a total of six divisions, and it had always been the most threatening attack spearhead on the western line of Phoenix City.

Previously, four divisions of the Feiyang 33rd Army were stationed here, engaging the 21st Army Group in fierce battles. It was extremely tough. After the 332nd, 333rd, and 334th divisions were transferred to Frenso Town, only the 331st division and a temporarily transferred Chuckna Armored Division and a Mechanical Infantry remained for defense.
