Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

228: The purpose of coming here is to gain something without working.Thinking of this, she narrowed her eyes and asked the Middle-aged Man standing at the front with the most imposing air, ”Who are you?”

The man grinned, revealing a mouthful of disgusting yellow teeth, ”So you’re Si Nan, no wonder you don’t recognize me. Don’t you recognize me either, Gu Jie?”

”On the day of the interview for the Security Section Chief position in the Residential Area ten years ago, if I hadn’t put in a word, you wouldn’t have had a chance at the Security Section Chief position.”

Gu Jie remembered, ”Are you the Deputy General Manager of the Residential Area, Geng Datong, Manager Geng?”

”Ah, that’s right, it’s me. Since you remember, things will be easier. Hurry up and open the gate to let me in? This property is originally mine!”

Geng Datong’s tone was matter-of-fact and domineering. His calculating old eyes were filled with desire for the transformed Residential Area, a sense of inevitability, and also concealed a hint of—ruthlessness!

The purpose of coming here was to get something for nothing, to pick up ready-made gains. After eight years of hunting, The Authorities had mostly cleared out the zombies and zombie viruses. The remaining calm, intelligent zombies mostly hid or gathered in remote, desolate areas.

The Authorities sent aircraft out every day to search everywhere, especially in cities with survivor bases. Only a few starving zombies came out to move around. By now in the Apocalypse, those who came out to move around more or less had firearms.

Moreover, those who could survive until now were all tough characters. Geng Datong was even tougher among the tough. As the developer of the property and the second-in-command Deputy General Manager, he had built and sold many properties.

This Residential Area, namely Seaside Luxury Villa, was one of the few high-end properties among all the developments, the first high-end property among all the developments.

Whether it was the initial land auction bidding, or the later design, construction, and materials used, all were the best, carefully selected with great effort.

To this day, Seaside Luxury Villa ranked among the top in City A, widely popular. It only ranked second after Yunshu Mountain Villa was built.

Therefore, when the zombie virus first broke out and the Apocalypse began, Geng Datong wanted to come immediately. Unfortunately, he was not in City A at that time. The whole world was in chaos for a while, and he didn’t have transportation like a helicopter in a short time, which led to him being isolated in another city.

Later, he made his way to one of the survivor bases. Being old and cunning, he saw the reality clearly, quickly won people over, and took over the base.

At that time, everyone in The Authorities was busy building Protective City Bases and rescuing more survivors, with no time to spare for basic management of the rear, giving old foxes like Geng Datong an opportunity.

Until now, with Fragmentation, there were many bases nationwide. Less than half were under the control of The Authorities. By now in the Apocalypse, The Authorities couldn’t manage so much anymore. The urgent need was just how to let everyone survive, and searching for more and more supplies was the way to go.

Especially after the Apocalypse began, all supplies became ownerless, shared resources. The Authorities also knew well that once supplies were controlled by those wealthy people with ill intentions, death would still await many survivors.

So at the very beginning, The Authorities were extremely smart and acted quickly, controlling the most important minerals, oil fields, metal smelting, medicine, and research in their own hands.

Otherwise, without these constraints, those wealthy people with ill intentions would have gone even crazier.

Especially since The Authorities quickly developed Soil Improvers, Human Gene Modifiers, Supernatural Ability Testers, and later Zombie Virus Delay Agents, etc.

These were things those wealthy people didn’t have the capability to research and develop. From growing edible crops, modifying existing ordinary bodies for Supernatural Ability awakening tests and level tests, to being bitten and drinking the delay agent in time for hospital treatment, they could slowly dilute the zombie virus and not turn into zombies.

Although it couldn’t completely detoxify, with luck, one could modify the body through the gene modifier. The result might be awakening a Supernatural Ability, or perhaps becoming a Half-Zombie that doesn’t crave flesh and blood, able to live like ordinary people without being rejected.

But Geng Datong’s goal had always been to take Seaside Luxury Villa, making it his private paradise. The team he brought had several beauties. Just looking at those women’s attire, it was clear they had long become playthings.

Men, they’re all the same. Even if they die, they want to die in bed.

But for Si Nan, Geng Datong was nothing.

So when Geng Datong saw Gu Jie had no reaction, he became unhappy, ”Gu Jie, haven’t you thought it over yet? You still owe me a favor and need to repay it, if you’re still a man with guts.”

”Or perhaps you can’t make decisions, really willingly becoming a little woman like Si Nan’s dog?”

”Geng Datong, I respect you because you put in a word for me ten years ago. But did I really become Security Section Chief just because of your one sentence? I think Manager Geng knows clearly in his heart, right?”

”Besides, the Residential Area isn’t yours. The property was sold out six years before the Apocalypse. You’re just an outdated Manager Geng. What right do you have to say this Residential Area is yours?”

Gu Jie tightened his grip on the gun in his hand, veins bulging on the back of his hand. He was already furious.

”Hahaha---” Geng Datong suddenly laughed.

The people behind him also joined in laughing, ”Gu, have you lost your mind? What the boss says goes. The boss has been patient and talked so much with you because he sees you as a person.”

”He just wants to give you a way out, give you a chance to continue being a dog after taking back this Residential Area. Don’t be ungrateful and refuse a face-saving offer.”

”You?” Gu Jie was extremely angry. He wasn’t good with words and disdained bickering like women. He glared angrily at the person beside Geng Datong.

”Hah, aren’t you just a dog? Look at your face now. In my eyes, you’re not even as good as a dog, with a face full of fawning and fluttering.”

”Speaking of which, didn’t you do any homework before coming here? Take back this Residential Area? You’re not even worthy!”

”And don’t even mention Luo Sen. Since you’ve come, don’t think about leaving. I’ll grant you to stay here, but not as living people—as your souls!”

”Take action!”

Si Nan spoke up, disdainfully glancing at the man spewing filth from his mouth, suddenly giving the order and stepping back.

Geng Datong immediately sensed something was wrong, ”Dodge, dodge quickly!”

In the blink of an eye, the row of mechanisms at the main gate sprayed out scorching flames. Under high pressure, the flames shot out several meters, instantly engulfing those who ran too slowly.

”Ah!” Screams spread from there.

Geng Datong, who was protected and ran far away, looked back, his old face ugly, ”Quite capable, actually able to turn the wall into a mechanism. Try using Sniper Rifles to shoot through the side wall. As long as we can tear open a gap, our people can charge straight in.”

”Alright, Sniper Rifles ready, line up and shoot for me.” The Main Attack Leader gave the order. Immediately, a row of seven people all aimed Sniper Rifles at the side wall of the main gate and fired wildly.
