Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

227: Hopefully it’s a good find, otherwise it’s not worth her time.Luo Sen secretly gave Si Nan a thumbs up. In truth, what they feared wasn’t the zombies in front of the children; nowadays, even zombies that had evolved intelligence feared him and the children.

What they feared most were those powerful Zombie Beasts. Although these Zombie Beasts had evolved to possess intelligence, they weren’t afraid of him, the Corpse King, and naturally, they weren’t afraid of his children either.

Furthermore, those disgusting things were bloodthirsty and bellicose. It was safer to keep the children in the Residential Area; he would fool them for as long as he could.

That night, leaning against the headboard, both Si Nan and Luo Sen couldn’t fall asleep.

Si Nan said, ”Relying on fooling them isn’t a long-term solution. Zhou Zhi and Wang Zhan told me everything about the children’s performance in private. The little fellows aren’t afraid of Zombie Beasts at all, and they coordinate perfectly when hunting them.”

”How about this: let’s take them out for actual combat. Only this way can they grow quickly and be exposed to the cruel world outside. Flowers in a greenhouse can’t be protected forever.”

”Only when they are strong and experienced can they protect themselves. There are seven of them, not just one. If we protect this one, can we protect the other six?”

”Hahaha~” Luo Sen laughed.

”What are you laughing at?” Si Nan had a bad premonition.

Luo Sen pulled her into his arms and smiled, ”Nan Nan, you’ve finally realized it. Actually, I wanted to take them out for training when they were two years old, but you wouldn’t agree.”

”So all these years, I’ve only taught them other abilities without teaching them combat experience. But your master, Jian Bing, is an exception. Every time they go to Yunshu Mountain Villa, the seven brats stick to Jian Bing’s side. Who knows what he’s taught them? The fifth Child even knows how to fly a fighter jet; who else but your master could have taught her?”

”But it’s not too late now. Our sons definitely won’t be lacking. They already possess Supernatural Abilities that others can only dream of; they only lack actual combat experience.”

”There’s no need for you to take them out. I’m enough on my own. We’ll start tomorrow.”

Just as she thought!

Si Nan shot a sideways glance at Luo Sen. ”You have the nerve to say that? Have you not been teaching them other things behind my back? And An An—he loves to act like a big brother and teach the seven brats things they shouldn’t learn.”

”I’m not stupid. They were able to snatch a fighter jet and kill two Zombie Fish with such smooth coordination; it definitely wasn’t their first time killing Zombie Beasts. Who knows how many times An An has taken them out to go wild?”

”They were lucky they didn’t run into that giant zombie python that even Uncle Ji and the others couldn’t kill. What if those few had happened to encounter it? The danger level would have been sky-high.”

”I also know how we survived the start of the Apocalypse. They can’t be kept in a greenhouse forever. Now that the Great War of the New Era has begun and they are eight years old, it’s time for them to grow up.”

”It’s just that sometimes I think, with us around, I don’t want their childhood to be exposed to bloodshed too early. Childhood should be childhood—it’s better if it’s happy and clean.”

”Mm, I’ve always known your good intentions for the children. It’s just that the environment is what it is. They have to walk their own path. We can protect them for a while, but not for a lifetime.”

”Let them go wild. Only when they are free can they grow wings and fly.”

Luo Sen held Si Nan tighter. He understood all too well, so no matter what decision Nan Nan made, he supported her unconditionally.

After breakfast the next day, Luo Sen announced the news. The children immediately cheered: ”Yay! We can finally show off our skills! Hurry back and change clothes, get armed up!”

”Sigh, they’re all ungrateful wolves,” Si Nan shook her head, sitting at the dining table with her face in her hands.

”What? Regretting it? The ungrateful wolves are yours too,” Luo Sen said with a soul-stirring smile, teasing her. His well-defined fingers were restless, provocatively tilting Si Nan’s chin up.

As the saying goes, while the priest climbs a foot, the devil climbs ten. Si Nan grabbed his hand in return, her other hand gently stroking Luo Sen’s face, inching across his skin until Luo Sen’s eyes gradually grew hot.

He smiled and pulled Si Nan into his arms, lowering his head as his thin lips covered hers. ”You asked for this.”

”Indeed, but also not quite,” Si Nan smiled craftily, blocking Luo Sen’s thin lips with the back of her hand. Just as she was about to speak of what came next, the voice of her second daughter, Second Treasure, suddenly sounded outside the door.

”Mommy, the clothes are all folded and put in the cabinet. Is there anything else Second Treasure needs to do? Second Treasure isn’t sleepy yet~” The tender voice flowed like a mountain spring, refreshing to the soul.

Luo Sen helplessly touched his forehead. ”But your old man is sleepy.”

The good moment was ruined again. It was truly too difficult to have some intimacy with his wife.

Si Nan began to show off, intentionally giving Luo Sen a kiss before getting out of bed and walking out. ”Hahaha, Mommy’s coming! Second Treasure, you’ve worked hard. Come, come, Mommy will treat you to a delicious late-night snack.”

”What? Late-night snack? Mommy, we want some too!” Well, the other six all popped their heads out; this was clearly planned by them.

Thus, Luo Sen was forced to stay in the empty room alone, cold and lonely. On the other hand, Si Nan was surrounded by the seven babies, with snacks spread across the table. The mother and eight children were eating quite happily.

The next day, by the time Si Nan had slept her fill and gotten up, Luo Sen and the children were long gone. She was happy to have some peace and quiet. A hearty breakfast was still warm by the fireplace, clearly a loving breakfast left specifically for her by her eldest Child.

Her heart was full of happiness.

After the meal, she went downstairs for a stroll. Just as she stepped out of the courtyard gate, she nearly collided head-on with Director Lin. ”What are you doing in such a panic?”

Director Lin’s expression was grim; he had come specifically to find Si Nan. ”Sister Nan, something’s happened. A group of people claiming to be the owners of this Residential Area are trying to force their way in.”

”Not only that, they are extremely aggressive. Mao Xin just asked them a few questions and nearly had his arm pierced by a bullet. Brother Gu is dealing with them.”

”They threatened that if we don’t open the gates and let them in, they will force their way in and kill everyone in our Residential Area.”

”Heh, how arrogant. Let’s go. I want to see if it’s Zhu Bajie or a Hydra coming to boast about killing everyone here,” Si Nan cold-snorted and walked quickly toward the main gate.

Only then did she hear the commotion. She hadn’t paid attention earlier, thinking it was the children in the Residential Area playing around. It turned out enemies had arrived. She hoped there would be some good treasure; otherwise, it wouldn’t be worth her making a move.

As a woman whose eyes lit up at the sight of treasure, the first thing she did upon reaching the gate was look at the gear in the hands of that group. This look left her utterly disappointed. She had thought it would be some impressive thermal weapons, but it was just a few sniper rifles.

Wait, no—those were the exact same sniper rifles she had obtained from that Fat Pig weapon boss she killed after the Apocalypse began. Even the logos on the gun bodies were identical.

Could that Fat Pig weapon boss from eight years ago be related to these people?

Thinking of this, she narrowed her eyes and asked the Middle-aged Man standing at the front with the most imposing air, ”Who are you?”
