Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

209: Sudden onset of strong acid rainLuo Yan was so angry that he poked his son’s forehead hard with his chopsticks. ”Do you think your old man is that much of an idiot? When I arrived, the perimeter wall was already built. I suggested raising and reinforcing it early on, but unfortunately, no one would listen to me. They confidently said that no zombie could climb a 3.8-meter wall unless they could fly.”

“Since the Apocalypse began, the entire Barrier City has been in chaos, and construction materials are extremely limited. You think everyone else is like you, where zombies don’t dare touch you? Countless soldiers have been sacrificed in the process of scavenging for supplies.”

“Take your mother, for example. Although staying in the city looks safe, it’s actually the most dangerous. Every zombie corpse brought back is a source of infection. I’m terrified that one day she’ll be infected too, and turn into—”

The atmosphere suddenly became heavy.

“I know.” Luo Sen also put away his playful attitude. “If I could, I’d want to take you both away. It would be safer for our family to live happily together.”

“I dream of that every day,” Meng Liqi said, “but the world has become like this. If your father and I don’t contribute our efforts, it will eventually drag us down too.”

“Son, you and Xiao Nan are our greatest hope for happiness. If you really want your father and me to be at peace, then hurry up and have a Child. I’ve even prepared all the vaccines for The little fellow from age one to eighteen. You must remember to take them when you leave.”

Meng Liqi casually opened a cabinet in the room. Inside, rows of medicines were lined up, each clearly labeled with which vaccine to inject at what age.

Such a scene made even a grown man like Luo Sen feel a pang of heartache. It felt like his mother was settling her final affairs. He really didn’t dare think further, and his thousands of words converged into a single: “Okay!”

Meng Liqi immediately brightened up. “I’ll pack them for you right away. Although I haven’t developed a specific vaccine to counter the zombie virus, I have developed drugs that can kill them.”

“Ultimately, it was that torrential acid rain in J City that gave me inspiration. You guys should be careful too; acid rain can fall at any time, and there’s no telling which city it will hit.”

“Son, hurry back and prepare. Protect Xiao Nan and her house.”

At this, Luo Sen smiled. “Don’t worry, Nan Nan isn’t as weak as you imagine. Whatever you can think of, she already thought of long ago. Her home has already been fully renovated.”

“Even if it rains acid, her house won’t suffer a scratch. At this time, she should be at Yunshu Mountain Villa working on the Sky Curtain with everyone.”

“Hahaha, that’s wonderful. Xiao Nan is becoming more and more intelligent and capable.” Meng Liqi laughed heartily.

“My wife is more than just smart; she’s even more beautiful than before.” Luo Sen took out his phone to show the two elders the stunning videos he had saved of Si Nan, as well as some sweet photos he had snapped of the two of them.

Meng Liqi could hardly believe it. “Xiao Nan looks exquisite now that she’s slimmed down. She truly is the daughter of A City’s number one beauty, even surpassing her mother. Our family is blessed to have married such a goddess, hahaha~”

Luo Yan was also shocked. “I remember the last time I saw that little girl, she was still a toddler. In the blink of an eye, she’s become a young woman. My Luo family is lucky indeed, and you’re even luckier, kid, to have such a goddess for a wife.”

Luo Sen pointed at his mother and glanced sideways at his old man. “Is my mom not beautiful?”

“Yeah, am I not beautiful?” Mother and son stood united, and danger approached Luo Yan.

“Hahaha, beautiful, of course you’re beautiful! If she wasn’t beautiful, would your dad have pursued her so relentlessly? I chased her for years back then. You kid only got lucky because of me; you inherited all my handsomeness and good fortune.”

“Narcissist,” mother and son gave their highest evaluation.

An hour later, Luo Sen left Barrier City and flew quickly toward A City.

Meanwhile, Si Nan had exerted a tremendous amount of effort to finally install the last piece of the Sky Curtain. The entire Yunshu Mountain Villa was now safe.

She pressed the switch to check the Sky Curtain’s retraction function. Just as it was halfway retracted, a drop of yellow liquid suddenly fell in front of her. When it hit the concrete ground, it made a ’sizzle’ sound, accompanied by a puff of blue smoke.

“This is...? Not good, it’s acid rain! Quick, call Gu Jie!”

She shouted to Bai Zichuan and quickly pressed the button to close the Sky Curtain again. In less than a minute, the entire Yunshu Mountain Villa was under the protection of the Sky Curtain.

“Drip drop—pitter-patter—” The acid rain began to fall heavily. The rainwater flowed along the edges of the Sky Curtain into the pre-built small drainage ditches. Everyone retreated into the rooms, looking at this sudden acid rain with grim expressions.

“My goodness, that was too close. The acid rain started just as we finished.” Bai Zichuan could hardly believe it. He hurriedly told Ma Bufan and Guan Xiaoning to watch the other children and make sure they didn’t touch the rain.

Old Couple Zhou and Professor Xu Zhaofeng kept all the children inside to play, fearing they might run outside out of curiosity. “Remember, never reach out to catch the rain. If the rain touches your hand, it’ll be gone!”

“Ah, so scary! I want my hands! Quick, quick, close the windows tight!” The children were terrified. In reality, they couldn’t have reached the rain anyway, as the house was under the Sky Curtain.

The acid rain fell harder and harder. Deafening roars erupted from outside the perimeter wall. Zombies and Zombie Beasts were being corroded by the acid rain. The moment they were drenched, a “sizzle sizzle” sound rang out, and their flesh and blood rapidly dissolved. It was a spectacular sight!

Their numbers dwindled rapidly. Countless zombies scrambled in all directions, falling one after another in their search for shelter, turning into puddles of blood that merged together to form a river.

In the distance, everything was dissolving. The white snow and the crops beneath it were no longer recognizable, vanishing before their very eyes. This acid rain was terrifying.

The only benefit was that it killed many zombies and Zombie Beasts at once.

Si Nan stood by the window, watching everything outside with a heavy heart. “I wonder how long this acid rain will last? What will A City look like when it’s over?”

“I imagine it will be a wasteland. I’ve seen some videos of J City; it was horrific. Buildings were corroded and pitted, flowers and trees all withered and died, even the seawater turned into toxic water. The sea surface was covered in a dense layer of floating corpses. it was shocking.”

Behind her, Jian Bing chimed in, his face also full of worry.

They were truly lucky. The acid rain had started just after they finished covering the farmland with the Sky Curtain. What if they had been a little later? Even just a little bit, and the latter half of the fields would have been ruined.

Spring was approaching, temperatures were rising, and the weather was getting better. They would soon be able to plant crops. If the land was destroyed, where would they plant? What would they eat in the future?

Most importantly, after such a torrential acid rain, the entire A City would be ruined, becoming a ghost city just like J City. All the remaining supplies would be destroyed along with it.

“Hahaha~” Si Nan suddenly burst into a heartless laugh.

“Apprentice, are you okay?” Jian Bing jumped up from the sofa, staring wide-eyed at the seemingly crazed Si Nan. What was wrong with his Apprentice? Why did she suddenly start laughing like that?
