Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

213: Goodbye means we’re enemiesJust as she was thinking this, the mobile surveillance system emitted a piercing alarm, and at the same time, Gu Jie called: ”This is bad, Sister Nan, the enemy is at the gates, we are surrounded.”

”The enemy is at the gates?” Si Nan quickly opened the perimeter surveillance cameras. Many small cars were driving in from all directions of the Residential Area. The people inside were holding weapons. They got out and immediately dealt with the dozen or so zombies wandering nearby, then split up to surround the four main gates of the Residential Area.

Moreover, they brought chainsaws and diamond drills!

These people wanted to forcefully break open the Residential Area’s gate, rush in, and take control of the Residential Area. Unfortunately, they picked the wrong target. However, what surprised her was that three months into the Apocalypse, there were still so many survivors in this district—that’s impressive.

Judging by the cars that arrived, the strength of the newcomers was not weak. They definitely had powerful thermal weapons, but hopefully no sniper rifles?

While speculating about this, she had already reached the nearest East Gate, which was also the largest gate of this Residential Area. Standing inside the guardhouse, she instantly recognized an acquaintance through the glass—Deng Jiude!

”It’s you, you heartless bastard. Why did you bring people to deal with me?” Si Nan’s eyes narrowed sharply, looking at Deng Jiude in the crowd with chilling killing intent.

Her gaze searched around Deng Jiude, but she didn’t see Zhuo Guangshun.

Deng Jiude was much thinner than before, and his previous amiability was gone. Seeing Si Nan, he was filled with hostility, pointing at her and cursing fiercely: ”You killed Old Zhuo! He could have lived well in his own home. You drove him and me to the Shelter. This was his home!

But that place wasn’t a Shelter at all. It was a dog-eat-dog environment. There were no houses to live in, no three meals a day. Besides a circle of high walls, there were only simple tents and bloody plunder between people.

The night we arrived, we were attacked. Old Zhuo was stabbed trying to survive and keep our supplies from being stolen. There was no medicine inside to treat him, and he died from wound infection.

Yet, until his death, he was thinking of you. He had liked you ever since the first time he saw you, but you never gave him a kind look.

Heaven has eyes! I survived a great disaster and was saved by Second Master Lü. You never would have guessed, right? Second Master Lü is Lü Tao’s second paternal uncle. You killed the Second Master’s nephew, Lü Tao, and occupied Lü Tao’s villa. He has come to avenge his nephew.”

Si Nan completely ignored Deng Jiude, instead shifting her gaze to the Middle-aged Man beside him. She said coldly: ”You control that Base, don’t you? You took all the supplies left by The Authorities for yourself, and then controlled everyone, including Deng Jiude.”

”Impossible! Second Master is my savior. He saved me when I was about to be beaten to death by the Looters.” Deng Jiude had been successfully brainwashed and absolutely did not believe Si Nan’s words.

Meanwhile, the Second Master Lü Quan beside him had already started to laugh sinisterly. ”I have to say, Si Nan, you are very clever. But it’s a pity. Since ancient times, clever women haven’t had good fortune. In this Apocalypse, a woman like you, with such a good face and figure, is only destined to become a man’s toy.

How about this: if you surrender willingly, open the gate, and welcome me, the Second Master, I will consider sparing your life and allowing you to become my personal woman.”

”Pah! You old bastard! How dare you insult our Sister Nan! Today, we must chop off that thing of yours and feed it to the zombies.”

”Listen up, you old pervert with one foot in the grave! Even if we fight until both sides are injured, we won’t surrender. If you have the guts, then come at us.”

”Open the gate to welcome you, you old pervert? Why don’t you take a piss and look at your ugly old mug? I bet you won’t live for two hours.”

The Three Building Owners and the youths couldn’t hold back anymore, itching to rush out and take down Lü Quan.

”Lü, you lied to me! So you were the one who killed Old Zhuo! I’m going to avenge him.” Deng Jiude pulled out a knife, raised it, and slashed at Lü Quan.

Si Nan shook her head. ”What an idiot. Daring to attack on someone else’s territory without even trying to play along.”

Sure enough, the two bodyguards beside Lü Quan immediately stopped him, each kicking him once, sending him flying several meters away from Lü Quan, spitting blood.

Lü Quan didn’t even spare Deng Jiude a glance. He kept staring at Si Nan’s face. ”If I hadn’t accidentally learned that the two of you (referring to Deng Jiude and Zhuo Guangshun) lived in the same Residential Area as my nephew, and heard you discuss someone building a second-floor Safe Room in this Residential Area, I, the Second Master, wouldn’t have bothered to kill Zhuo Guangshun and corral you.

The purpose was to make you lead me here. That goal has been achieved, and you no longer have any use. You can die now. Kill him.”

”Blame me for being blinded by greed, but you, Lü Quan, won’t have a good end either! I’ll wait for you at King Yama’s place first.” Deng Jiude was filled with deep regret. He hated himself more than he hated Lü Quan. Back then, Old Zhuo didn’t want to leave, but he had desperately persuaded him to go.

In the end, he was the one who harmed Old Zhuo. Si Nan had warned them to think carefully, but he didn’t trust Si Nan back then--- ”Ah, Old Zhuo, I’m coming to join you.”

He threw back his head, roaring out all his unwillingness. Looking at the two men coming to kill him, he gripped the knife in his hand. If he died, he would take someone down with him.

Si Nan watched Deng Jiude being killed and did not intervene. Such a person was not worth saving, and he wouldn’t be the only one dying today!

”Whoosh!”

”Bang!”

Suddenly, a bomb was thrown in, landing right at the entrance of their guardhouse. Si Nan watched without moving. After the smoke cleared, the guardhouse was still the guardhouse, completely undamaged.

”What?” Lü Quan was shocked, his old face twisted in disbelief. ”bomb it again! I refuse to believe it’s made of steel.”

”You guessed right. It really is made of steel, and the best kind too. Try throwing a few more. Maybe you can blast me to pieces or blow me away.” Si Nan stood with her arms crossed, mocking Lü Quan.

They really did throw two more bombs in, but the result was the same—just more smoke.

”It’s over.” Si Nan suddenly said with a cheerful smile.

The next second, a circle of muzzles appeared around the guardhouse, and countless bullets shot out, aimed directly at Lü Quan and his men.

”Ah—” The piercing screams were deafening. This fierce barrage of firepower instantly took care of half the men.

If Lü Quan hadn’t been protected and quick enough to dodge, escaping into the Convenience Store, he would already be dead.

Among the zombies they had killed, one wasn’t completely dead. It crawled up, tackled the person furthest back, and immediately bit off a large chunk of flesh from their neck.

By the time the people in front reacted and dealt with this zombie, other zombies nearby, drawn by the smell of blood, had already arrived, scattering the fleeing crowd and starting to tear into them.

”This is bad, Second Master! There are too many zombies. We should quickly get in the car and leave here!” One of the bodyguards beside Lü Quan lost his composure. The number of zombies was increasing, and their men would diminish quickly. If they delayed, they wouldn’t even save their lives.

”No one is allowed to leave!” Lü Quan roared.
