Sister Nan's Combat Strength is Unknown, But It's Probably Only a Tiny Bit Stronger

205: Undead zombies that resurrect on the spotHowever, Luo Sen’s next sentence earned him a punch from Si Nan.

Luo Sen said, ”If a Zombie Beast had two heads—ouch, Nan Nan, why did you hit your husband?”

”Because you deserved it. Hurry up and pack. We’re going to Yunshu Mountain Villa tomorrow morning.” Si Nan briskly went downstairs.

Luo Sen wasn’t as relaxed as he seemed. He stood by the window, looking at the zombie horde outside. These strangely shaped zombies had already cannibalized each other. Starved, they could only feed on their own kind after failing to find living creatures.

This was the main reason for their re-mutation: the zombie virus superimposing and cross-infecting, producing an even more powerful zombie mutation virus, thus giving birth to new, stronger zombies.

When dealing with the scum in the five nearby Residential Areas, he discovered that some zombies no longer obeyed his commands and had developed self-awareness. It seemed he, too, had to continue to grow stronger, absorbing more and more crystal cores.

Turning around, he walked with firm steps to the third floor, absorbing crystal cores for an hour before coming back down.

Si Nan saw him absorbing crystal cores through her phone’s surveillance, and instantly realized that Luo Sen wasn’t as relaxed as he appeared in front of her. He was also nervous.

Suddenly, her mood grew heavy. Even such a powerful Corpse King was getting nervous, so she, a weak human, should become strong quickly.

She didn’t go up to disturb Luo Sen. She thought that the revivable Zombie Beast tiger must have posed an unprecedented threat to Luo Sen, and the situation was becoming increasingly severe.

Fortunately, The Authorities were quick enough, having dispatched special Supernatural Ability teams to deal with those powerful zombies and Zombie Beasts. But it was a drop in the bucket; the number of zombies and Zombie Beasts was too vast, rapidly increasing and evolving every day.

Meanwhile, the human population continued to dwindle. This worsening situation was becoming increasingly severe, with unpredictable consequences.

She looked up as Luo Sen came down. She walked over and actively hugged him, comforting him, ”Don’t worry, humanity is also growing stronger.”

”Mm, with you by my side, I’ll never worry.” Luo Sen hugged Si Nan back, both of their moods equally heavy.

Si Nan tried to absorb the power of the crystal cores herself, but unfortunately, she didn’t succeed. She still had to rely on Luo Sen to inject it into her. She frowned, ”Why can’t I actively absorb it?”

”Because you are fundamentally an ordinary person. I always want you to be an ordinary person, without fighting and killing, only a peaceful life free from danger,” Luo Sen held her tightly, looking at the desolate scene outside, and said softly.

He would handle the dangerous things. In this Apocalypse, if he couldn’t give her a peaceful life, then he would give her a safe one.

”Mm, as you said, compared to others, I’m already lucky enough and extraordinary enough.” Si Nan smiled, comforting him and herself.

”Of course. I’ll add some wood to the fireplace and cook some late-night snacks,” Luo Sen let go of her, saying gently.

”Okay.” Si Nan returned to the bedroom to prepare clothes for them to wear tomorrow morning, as well as ammunition for Gu Jie and the others.

An hour later, just as they were about to rest, they suddenly received a call from Gu Jie: ”Bad news, there’s a zombie at the West Gate that can revive on the spot. Repeated attacks can’t kill it, and it wants to cross the gate and enter the Residential Area.”

”We’re coming immediately.” Si Nan and Luo Sen simultaneously got out of bed and dressed, rushing to the West Gate three minutes later.

Outside the West Gate, Gu Jie, his six companions, and The Three Building Owners were all present. Everyone was on high alert, gripping their guns and staring intently at the zombie outside the gate.

Unlike before, this zombie wasn’t tall and mighty; it was of medium build, on the plumper side. But miraculously, it was a flexible fat monkey. When it charged and crashed into the gate, its entire body exerted force, moving very fast, agile, and powerfully.

”Sister Nan, look at its eyes! They’re grayish-black, not murky grayish-white. It still has human consciousness!” Mao Xin suddenly pointed at the zombie and shouted.

”Oh?” Si Nan heard this and quickly approached the gate, intending to observe the zombie up close. But the moment she got near, the fat zombie let out a ”roar” and immediately charged forward, its dark right hand reaching through the hollow gap in the gate to grab Si Nan.

The expression on its stiff face twitched with excitement, as if Si Nan was the most delicious piece of meat in its eyes.

”Get lost!” Luo Sen blocked Si Nan, chopping off the hand that reached in with a single strike. But no one expected that in just a few seconds, the severed hand grew back.

”What a terrifying zombie, it’s practically unkillable!” Everyone present exclaimed in shock.

”Hmph, no matter how strong it is, it’s still flesh and blood. I don’t believe it can’t be killed.” Si Nan raised her gun and pulled the trigger. A bullet ”bang” embedded itself in the fat zombie’s head.

The fat zombie fell in response, its entire body twitching. The embedded bullet was still lodged in its forehead. Approximately six seconds later, the fat zombie stopped twitching, its body sprang straight up from the ground, and it continued to rush towards the gate, attempting to attack Si Nan inside.

”It really does revive on the spot. Then let’s try again.” Si Nan gritted her teeth, pulling the trigger once more. If one bullet couldn’t kill it, then ten would.

”I’ll do it.” Luo Sen took the gun from Si Nan’s hand and aimed at the fat zombie’s forehead. ”Bang bang bang—” He fired five shots in a row. The first three hit the fat zombie’s vital points, slowing its charge, but the latter two were dodged.

”Not good, he’s getting smarter. Luo Sen, try shooting its knees,” Si Nan shouted.

The next second, bullets one after another embedded themselves in the fat zombie’s knees, feet, and thighs, but it was completely useless. The fat zombie showed no sensation, and other than pausing for a moment when the bullets struck, it had no other effect.

Luo Sen frowned.

”Gu Jie, try that in your hand.” Si Nan turned to him, referring to the sniper rifle Gu Jie was holding.

”Okay.” Gu Jie responded, adjusted for a close-range aim at the fat zombie, and fired a shot.

”Bang!” After a loud bang, the shot directly hit the fat zombie’s knee, completely blowing off its entire right leg.

”Roar!” The fat zombie lowered its head, woodenly looking at its missing leg. Losing its balance, it tilted forward and fell.

Si Nan shouted, ”Now! Shoot it in the head!”

”Received!” Gu Jie’s reaction and marksmanship were incredibly fast. ”Bang bang” two bullets shot out instantly, one second apart, both embedding themselves in the fat zombie’s head, immediately blowing off its entire head.

The remaining torso twitched a few times but never got up again. The shredded flesh on its neck was still smoking, but no new head grew back.

Si Nan and Luo Sen didn’t dare to leave immediately, standing there for ten minutes. Everyone else also kept their eyes fixed on the fat zombie’s body, not daring to blink.

Finally, Luo Sen instructed Gu Jie—
