Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1649: Chapter 1633: Reduced to Ashes

Shi Kunlin spoke these words nonchalantly, his face even carried a heavy sense of mockery, and he looked at Zhao Hongru with eyes full of sympathy.

The other students were already scared stiff by the scene in front of them, each one as silent as cicadas in winter, holding their breath not daring to make a sound, fearing that a careless move would drag them into this fiery conflict, becoming the target of Zhao Hongru’s anger.

However, after hearing Shi Kunlin’s words, several students involuntarily revealed expressions of surprise and suspicion in their eyes, they secretly exchanged glances, communicating through their eyes, seemingly trying to delve into the meaning of Shi Kunlin’s words.

Over there, upon hearing these words, Zhao Hongru’s heart sank suddenly, he raised his head fiercely to glare at Shi Kunlin and shouted:

”What nonsense are you spouting?!”

Shi Kunlin laughed, ”Whether I’m talking nonsense, you can find any Chinese medicine doctor to ask and you’ll know.”

”Your prescription, although it uses top-notch medicinal materials, the pharmacology of Chinese medicine is complex. Mixing these medicines, there’s no logic to it, some are for treating weak constitution, some are for treating excessive fire, which contradicts each other, who would dare to drink the concocted medicine?”

”Even if the medicine isn’t poisonous, I dare say, the concoction made from this prescription has no effect at all. I don’t know where you got this recipe, but I guess you were deceived.”

”Alright, I’ll stop here. It’s because of more than a year of learning with you that I tell you this much, our teacher-student relationship ends here, we owe each other nothing, I’m leaving now, take your time to research.”

With that, Shi Qingyun picked up his backpack and walked out of the factory without looking back.

Zhao Hongru stood petrified, though it was midsummer, he felt a chill rise directly from the soles of his feet to the top of his head, his entire body was chilled to the bone.

Shi Kunlin’s words sounded like a thunderclap to Zhao Hongru, waking him with a boom.

The prescription has issues, he was fooled!

Zhao Hongru recalled the day at Yulong Mountain when he threatened Gu Xu and Huo Sining, later that old man named Bai Buzhi came to resolve the matter and wrote down the prescription for him.

It was at this moment that Zhao Hongru finally sobered up, his complexion turned pale, looking at the row of medicine jars and stoves before him, realizing it might be a trap set by those three.

For this laboratory, he went bankrupt, mortgaged loans, even found several investors, risking everything just to develop a cure for cancer, but after working hard for so long, spending a large amount of money and effort, he was finally informed that the prescription was fake from the start, the so-called cancer cure prescription was simply a joke.

Zhao Hongru’s face gradually twisted and grimaced, after a moment of deathly silence, he went crazy, as if to vent his anger, he swept over the medicine jars with all his might.

The students were terrified, each retreating in fear, Zhao Hongru ignored them completely, using all his strength to grab a grinder and smash it against the laboratory equipment, seemingly venting the overwhelming anger in his heart.

”Oh no!”

As Zhao Hongru was smashing the equipment, the furnace used for concocting medicine spewed fire after the medicine splashed from the jar, and at this time, nobody knew what Zhao Hongru smashed, only a loud crashing sound was heard, and a strong smell of alcohol spread out.

Before there was time to react, the alcohol ignited instantly upon contact with the flames erupting from the furnace, though it was only a moment, the fire had already spread, within less than a minute, more than half of the laboratory was engulfed in flames.

”Ah! It’s on fire!”

The students were scared dumb, each screaming in terror.

”Hurry and get the extinguisher to put out the fire!”

Some students realized that if the fire wasn’t extinguished, things would be really bad, and upon recognizing the dire situation, they began searching for extinguishers in the laboratory.

However, when the extinguisher was finally in hand, one student yelled urgently, ”Don’t spray! This is a foam extinguisher, alcohol fire can’t be isolated by foam, it’s useless!”

Alcohol fires can’t be extinguished with water, and foam extinguishers are useless too, in such a case, the only option was to call the fire brigade.

”Call, quickly call 119!”

One student hurriedly took out their phone to call for fire emergency services, watching the fire spread faster, nearly consuming the entire laboratory, no one dared to linger in the room, each one fleeing toward the door.

”The professor is still inside!”

After escaping the laboratory, it suddenly occurred to a student that someone was missing, a few strong male students ran back into the laboratory to drag out the still rampaging Zhao Hongru.

The flames spread quickly, and the group stood outside the factory, watching the fire blaze from the laboratory to the outside, growing larger, finally engulfing the entire factory.

Fire trucks arrived belatedly more than ten minutes later, however, in these ten-plus minutes, the entire factory was shrouded in flames.

Two fire trucks sprayed high-pressure hoses, taking several hours to finally extinguish the fire.

But, after being consumed by the flames, the factory was left with just a framework, not to mention the equipment and remaining medicinal materials inside the laboratory, all were reduced to ashes.

Zhao Hongru sat defeated on the ground, staring blankly at the charred factory before him, his face ashen.

”Gone, everything’s gone.”

The prescription was fake, the factory was gone, the house mortgaged to the bank was going to be confiscated, he also owed a mountain of debt to the investors, at this moment Zhao Hongru’s mind was in chaos, unable to understand why.

He clearly envisioned it well, as long as he developed a cure for cancer, he would be renowned worldwide, fortune and glory would follow, by then it would be his moment of splendor.

But why, in the end, did it turn out this way? Everything was lost, he lost completely.

Imagining the family’s blame, the colleagues’ mockery, the investors chasing debts, and the house taken by the bank, Zhao Hongru’s face gradually twisted in madness, wildly trying to rush toward the factory, rummaging through the debris, muttering under his breath:

”The prescription, my prescription, the cure for cancer prescription...”

Some dared to speak cautiously, ”Professor, it’s all burned, should we... go back?”

”You’re talking nonsense! It’s still there, my prescription must still be there, quick, you all help me find, we must find the prescription!”

The students exchanged glances, one female student, seeming uncertain, whispered, ”What’s wrong with the professor, could he be... mad?”
