Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1630: Chapter 1614: Adrian’s Call

Seeing these Weibo comments, Huo Sining was a bit speechless and hurriedly clarified on Weibo:

“The beaches of Dover are beautiful, but the gold coins thing was just something I made up as a joke with my friends. I hope everyone doesn’t misunderstand.”

She added several awkward and pleading emojis at the end of the post.

Once this Weibo post was published, Su Jinyuan and Ouyang Jun immediately began replying boldly:

“Bad review, asking me to go to Dover when there are no gold coins? Fraud!”

“Showing off with a fake picture to lure me in, the public’s eyes are sharp!”

With Su Jinyuan and Ouyang Jun’s banter, the netizens, who had initially believed the gold coin picture, gradually calmed down. Many joined in the comments, replying with humorous words and emojis like “nozuonodie!”, “fraud!”, “show-off!”, while simultaneously educating others about gold coins. They appeared like Conan, analyzing whether it was possible to find gold coins on the Dover coast.

Reading the arguments and evidence presented by these talented people online, Huo Sining couldn’t help but gape and marvel, acknowledging that talent truly comes from the masses, as expected.

However, through this incident, Huo Sining realized an issue: her current status was different from before. Any little thing could stir up a storm on Weibo, so she should speak less whenever possible.

Originally, things would have settled after Huo Sining’s explanation, but shortly after, she received a call that greatly surprised her.

“Miss Huo, long time no see. I heard you are in Dover now, are you here on vacation?”

The caller was none other than Count Albert Adrian, whom Huo Sining had previously met in a European castle by the Thames River.

This old gentleman actually took the initiative to call her, surprising Huo Sining: “Mr. Adrien, I am indeed on vacation in Dover, but how did you know about it?”

Adrian couldn’t help but laugh heartily: “I’m currently with Li Jun, and we came to attend a business meeting together. He showed me a Weibo post you made about picking up four royal gold coins in Dover.”

“I saw the picture on your Weibo too. Although you later explained it was fake, my intuition tells me you, Miss Huo, wouldn’t make baseless claims. I guess you indeed have gold coins, but they weren’t picked up on the beach, they were a bargain find. Am I right?”

Adrian’s words startled Huo Sining, as she hadn’t expected this old gentleman to have such accurate instincts. Naturally, she prepared to deny it.

This cautiousness was not without reason, as Adrian was, after all, English and a count. Huo Sining couldn’t guarantee that he wouldn’t stab her in the back. If the English government was informed, her coins might truly be confiscated.

After all, those few gold coins were worth tens of millions in RMB. She had painstakingly retrieved them from the sea and couldn’t let them become someone else’s prize, only to be confiscated by the English government.

“Adrian, you’re mistaken. That picture is indeed fake, and I don’t have…” Huo Sining was ready to deny directly.

But before she could finish, Adrian interrupted:

“Miss Huo, don’t rush to deny it. Let’s not beat around the bush; I know you definitely have gold coins. In fact, I’m here for those four gold coins.”

“I don’t care how you got those coins, and I can handle the embassy to ensure the government won’t trouble you. I only have one request: if you are willing to part with those coins, sell them to me, how about it?”

Hearing this, Huo Sining was stunned. She hadn’t expected that after all her efforts to acquire a batch of European antiques to persuade Adrian into cooperation to bring back Huaxia cultural relics, he was indifferent. But now, these few coins fished out unintentionally made this old count so serious.

This made Huo Sining realize that these coins might have significant meaning to the Albert family.

She decided not to play hard to get anymore and laughed: “Alright, then Mr. Earl, I think we should meet and talk.”

“No problem, I’ll fly to England tonight. I hope to meet Miss Huo and your friends in beautiful Dover tomorrow.”

Hearing this, Huo Sining laughed: “No, no, Mr. Adrien, I think you’ve forgotten something. I’m willing to transfer the coins to you, but not for sale. I prefer a barter, and I think you know what I want.”

After a few seconds of silence on the other end of the line, raucous laughter soon followed: “Miss Huo, you truly are a remarkable oriental woman. Alright, I admit I was being narrow-minded and should’ve been more honest with you. You want the Huaxia antiques in my collection, right? Alright, I’ll fly directly to London. We will meet at Albert Castle tomorrow to discuss the exchange.”

That afternoon, Huo Sining and the others headed to the Thames River, as some seafood she had retrieved hasn’t been sold yet. She left the remaining seafood in a cold storage at Dover Harbor with some retired soldiers.

The group hurried to London, and early next morning, Adrian’s car arrived at the hotel where Huo Sining and others were staying, taking them directly to the castle.

“Dear Miss Huo, long time no see.”

Upon seeing Huo Sining, Adrian warmly approached and gave her a hug. Noticing Gu Xu beside her, Adrian’s eyes flickered, and an involuntary smile spread across his face:

“This is the brave man who competed against Caesar at the WGC award ceremony and hacked JK’s system to confess his feelings to Miss Huo in front of the world, isn’t he?”

Hearing this, Huo Sining was taken aback, her face a bit awkward: “You watched the award ceremony too?”

Adrian laughed: “In fact, I watched every match from the first finals. Miss Huo’s performance was brilliant. As a friend, how could I be indifferent? But I didn’t expect such an unexpected episode at the final award ceremony. I think this will be recorded in WGC history as a breathtaking moment because it was just too romantic!”
