Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1614: Chapter 1598: Taking Responsibility

Huo Sining nodded and didn’t hide anything: ”I just found this fourth medicine a few days ago. Originally, I was going to find Mr. Bai as soon as I returned to the Imperial Capital, but I didn’t expect to be delayed by something. I was a bit negligent, thinking that a few days’ delay wouldn’t matter. Who would have thought that things coincidentally turned out this way, and Master Qin fell ill at this moment.”

Huo Sining’s expression was somewhat guilty, and she explained a few sentences. Yet, the people of the Qin Family didn’t seem to mind; everyone was shocked by the news Huo Sining brought.

No one expected Huo Sining to actually gather the herbs needed by Bai Buzhi!

Without a moment to celebrate, Qin Han immediately made a decision and said sternly to his son: ”Xiaotian, quickly take Miss Huo to Mr. Bai’s house, tell him the situation, and have him brew the medicine as soon as possible! Your grandfather can’t wait much longer, we are racing against the clock now!”

Qin Tian and Ouyang Jun both shouted loudly: ”Yes!”

Zhao Hongru had been hesitating, but upon hearing Qin Han agree to Huo Sining’s suggestion, he immediately felt somewhat unhappy:

”Mr. Qin, isn’t this inappropriate? Our expert group is still discussing the plan; your actions will interrupt our diagnostic process...”

”Exactly, even though Miss Huo has treated Master Qin before, she is ultimately not a professional in medicine. If something goes wrong, who will take responsibility?”

The experts present were also displeased, and all the specialists frowned tightly.

”Who knows if the ancient prescription will work? The origin of the medicine is unknown, the ingredients are unclear, and there is no national drug administration approval. Clinical validation is out of the question—can such medicine be randomly administered to patients?”

One expert suggested: ”Why doesn’t Miss Huo first provide the prescription and herbs? Let our expert group study them. Only after brewing the medicine should we take a sample for testing to see if there are any issues.”

”Indeed, this is no joking matter. If there are issues with the medicine, no one can shoulder the responsibility.”

A group of experts started arguing, while Huo Sining stood by, saying nothing. She truly didn’t know if the medicine would be effective, but under the current circumstances, if they didn’t try, not only she but also the Qin Family wouldn’t be able to rest easy.

As for the risks mentioned by the experts, Huo Sining had no argument.

Because the medicine was based on an ancient prescription, even today’s clinical surgeries in hospitals cannot guarantee 100% success, and many failed surgeries occur unexpectedly; yet, no hospital holds the doctors responsible. When patients enter the hospital for surgery, they need to sign contracts, and if an accident occurs, isn’t the patient the one who pays?

Qin Han obviously understood this reasoning, so during the experts’ quarrel, his face looked grim. After a while, he suddenly asked:

”Doctor Zhao, and the other experts present, can any of the proposed plans that recommend chemotherapy or surgery for my father offer a guarantee of no issues?”

As soon as this question was posed, the previously noisy hospital corridor fell silent among all the experts.

”This...” Zhao Hongru was also stunned.

No doctor in any hospital dares to assure that issues won’t arise during the treatment of patients, and even the medicines they provide might have side effects.

Thus, their persistent questioning of Huo Sining’s medications was somewhat excessive and ridiculous because he knew very well that even the hospital’s proposed plans also carried risks.

”You’re just playing word games.”

Nearby, an expert dissatisfied with Qin Han’s questioning directly said: ”Our hospital would never use a medication on a patient that we are completely unfamiliar with.”

Ouyang Jun frowned: ”But my grandfather can’t wait that long. The time you spend analyzing and researching is too lengthy; the old man can’t afford it.”

”Mr. Qin, that’s not how you calculate this. If the medicine indeed can cure Master Qin, that would be ideal. But if something goes wrong, I think you would not accept it. Neither would we—”

Zhao Hongru wanted to explain, but he was directly interrupted by Qin Han with a wave of his hand:

”Enough, your expert group can continue with your plan. This medicine is something our family insists on using. If problems do arise, we definitely won’t blame your hospital. Doctor Zhao, if you have doubts, have your hospital’s legal department draft a contract document, and we’ll sign it as family members!”

Saying this, Qin Han gestured towards Qin Tian and Ouyang Jun: ”Why are you still here? Hurry up!”

”Oh, oh.”

Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian hurriedly pulled Huo Sining and Gu Xu away, leaving the expert group’s elderly professors looking rather awkward.

Huo Sining and her group rushed to Bai Buzhi’s house, and on the way, Ouyang Jun made a call to Bai Buzhi. Bai Buzhi, upon hearing that Huo Sining had gathered the herbs, was filled with excitement and joy, standing at the door waiting.

”Quickly come in, I’ve even prepared the Zitao medicine pot, I have Aquilaria Agallocha Bark, Camphor, and Clove here. Now, all that’s missing are the other three herbs.”

Bai Buzhi was urgent, yet his eyes couldn’t conceal the excitement; this was understandable as Bai Buzhi had exhausted much effort over the years searching for the herbs required by this prescription. Now that everything was truly gathered, he couldn’t suppress his inner excitement.

Huo Sining smiled and said: ”They’re in the car; I’ll go get them.”

With that, Huo Sining glanced at Gu Xu, who obediently retrieved a sealed box from the car trunk.

The box was prepared in advance by Huo Sining, but she took it out of the storage ring only on the way to Yulong Mountain Hospital. Inside the box were the three herbs she collected.

Glacier Ganoderma, Deep Sea Spiny Snake, and Golden Lotus Stems.

The Golden Lotus Stems were what Huo Sining found near a deep pool when the Underground Palace was flooded during her time at Shenmuzhai’s Rear Mountain. She saw a rooting Golden Lotus plant, after the seeds were picked, and without hesitation, pulled it up and stored it in Space.

She actually had another Golden Lotus growing in her storage ring, about to bloom, but Huo Sining was unwilling to use the well-grown Golden Lotus as a medicine primer.

Since the Underground Palace had collapsed, and the remaining Golden Lotus roots were of no use, they were better utilized than being buried at the lake’s bottom.

Once at the Bai Family, Huo Sining directly opened the box.

Upon opening the box, a black shadow instantly struggled to escape, twisting around on the ground, and fleeing everywhere, almost startling everyone in the room.
