Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1618: Chapter 1602: Righteous and Just

“Miss Huo, I have an unusual request, could you write down the formula for your medicine for me?”

When Zhao Hongru said this, he initially appeared a bit embarrassed, but once he asked, he became earnest and calm.

Huo Sining still had a smile on her face, but a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes: “Doctor Zhao, what did you say?”

Zhao Hongru said: “Cancer troubles so many people. Since Miss Huo’s formula can cure cancer, I hope Miss Huo can give me the recipe, so it might benefit more people.”

The smile on Huo Sining’s face suddenly disappeared. She’s not stupid, the formula can indeed benefit everyone, but what Zhao Hongru wanted her to privately write down the formula for him, isn’t that obvious?

“Doctor Zhao, do you think I’m a three-year-old? You want the formula, and I’ll just give it to you, don’t you find it laughable?”

Huo Sining sneered: “I don’t know what you have in mind, but your bold demand is a bit much, and wanting to get something for nothing is too easy, isn’t it?”

Zhao Hongru’s expression suddenly changed upon hearing this. Being uncovered by Huo Sining with his plan, he became somewhat embarrassed and indignant, his face flushed red.

Indeed, Zhao Hongru was very interested in the medicine brewed by Huo Sining and Bai Buzhi today. He studied medicine, and of course understands how terrifying cancer is, those stricken with the illness face the fear of death, yet modern technology has not been able to conquer this illness.

Now Huo Sining and Bai Buzhi have mastered a technique that surpasses the world frontiers, and once this formula is announced, it will cause a global sensation.

Zhao Hongru’s mind started becoming active. He knew that once he mastered this formula, he could apply for a patent. All fame, awards, and even money would come rushing towards him, he would become the world’s number one and garner the world’s admiration and respect.

Though Zhao Hongru thought he hid his ambitions well, it was obvious to anyone.

He didn’t dare to ask Bai Buzhi, or Ouyang Jun, and Qin Tian, but chose to ask Huo Sining, just because he thought she was young and easy to persuade.

Unbeknownst to him, he was exposed by Huo Sining as soon as he opened his mouth. Face flushed, Zhao Hongru angrily pointed at Huo Sining:

“You’re the selfish one. This special medicine is the world’s treasure and life-saving drug. How can it become your private property? If you have a little compassion, you should save people from illness, not hoard this formula!”

Huo Sining was amused by this righteous speech. She looked at Zhao Hongru as if he were an idiot:

“Doctor Zhao, don’t you feel ashamed? If you get the formula from me, isn’t it also for your own gain? Stop talking about compassion for others; I’m not a Bodhisattva, I can’t save everyone. You want the formula for profit, who is nobler than whom?”

Beside her, Gu Xu also turned serious: “Doctor Zhao, as the saying goes, greed doesn’t end well. No need to speak so nobly; we’re not fools. Your talk of an elixir that benefits the world has nothing to do with us.”

Then Gu Xu was ready to leave with Huo Sining, but at that moment, Zhao Hongru sneered coldly:

“Wait, Miss Huo, Mr. Gu. You’re a public star and a major corporation CEO. Aren’t you afraid of disappointing the public when you speak like this?”

Coldness flashed in Gu Xu’s eyes, he turned sharply, looking at Zhao Hongru: “What do you mean? Using ethics to bind us?”

Zhao Hongru was all in at this point, grinned and fetched a voice recorder from his clothes, his face revealing an ill-intentioned expression like a villain in power:

“Didn’t you both say that what’s beneficial to the world is none of your concern? So what do you think the public will say if I release this recording?”

Gu Xu initially didn’t plan to argue with Zhao Hongru, but this man had a problem, insisted on provoking, Gu Xu narrowed his eyes, looking at Zhao Hongru with a look as if looking at a dead person.

Huo Sining was also disappointed. Previously, she thought Zhao Hongru was just stubborn on treating people. She didn’t expect that he not only valued fame but also profit, sacrificing principles and bottom line. Now he’s resorting to blackmail, truly a rare thing for most.

Huo Sining recalled the previous life when Huo Yong’s family betrayed her for three hundred thousand, selling her to Wu Jingyi, ignoring kinship bonds recklessly. Human nature is inherently greedy.

Gu Xu was ready to act, but just then, someone suddenly emerged from the hospital, speaking with a smile:

“Doctor Zhao, you just want to get that formula, it’s easy, I’ll tell you, why make such a fuss?”

Zhao Hongru was taken aback, turned his head with surprise to see the person who came out.

The person who emerged was Bai Buzhi, who previously treated Qin Lianshan upstairs.

Only Bai Buzhi walked up smiling, placing his arm warmly over Zhao Hongru’s shoulder. Before Zhao Hongru could react, Huo Sining and Gu Xu only saw a flash as Bai Buzhi somehow had a yellow talisman paper in his hand, affixed it directly to the back of Zhao Hongru’s head.

To Huo Sining and Gu Xu’s amazement, the talisman paper ignited suddenly upon sticking to Zhao Hongru’s head, within just a couple of seconds it burned away completely, leaving not a trace.

Witnessing this strange scene, Huo Sining and Gu Xu were taken aback, unsure what Bai Buzhi was doing.

Zhao Hongru didn’t notice Bai Buzhi’s trick, nor did he realize that a talisman paper was burning on his head, by the time he felt something was off, it was already burned away.

Bai Buzhi grinningly retrieved paper and pen from Zhao Hongru’s front pocket, laughing as he wrote:

“It’s just an ancient formula, you asked Miss Huo but she doesn’t actually know, because I was the one who told her to gather the ingredients, but the exact formula is only known to me. Here, I’ll write it for you.”
