Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1613: Chapter 1597: The Situation Is Critical

Ouyang Jun and Qin Lianshan, embarrassed by Huo Sining’s words, quickly stepped aside, allowing Qin Han to lead Huo Sining into the hospital room.

Inside the special care ward at Yulong Mountain, Master Qin lay lifelessly on the bed, unconscious.

Using spiritual energy, Huo Sining checked and indeed found that the cancer cells in the old man’s body had spread again.

Perhaps because Huo Sining had been using spiritual energy to ease the old man’s condition, those cancer cells seemed to have slowly developed antibodies to the spiritual energy. When Huo Sining infused the energy this time, the effect was very weak.

Seeing this situation, Huo Sining felt the weight of it; it seemed like the situation wasn’t looking good.

Late-stage stomach cancer was already a very dangerous illness, and with Master Qin’s current condition, delaying any further wasn’t an option.

The urgent task was to quickly follow the ancient prescription and prepare the medicine.

Huo Sining made up her mind and decided to go to Bai Buzhi’s place immediately.

The Qin family relatives nearby were anxiously waiting at the door of the ward, constantly peeking inside through the small glass window, each looking worried.

No one knew if Huo Sining could have a way to wake the comatose Master Qin, or if there was any medicine to treat him.

Huo Sining walked out, closed the hospital room door, and without saying much to the Qin family, she headed toward Zhao Hongru:

”Teacher Zhao, what exactly is Master Qin’s condition now?”

Zhao Hongru shook his head: ”Miss Huo, I won’t hide it from you, Master Qin’s condition isn’t optimistic. Last night, his heart stopped briefly. Fortunately, we were able to resuscitate him in time, otherwise—”

Otherwise, Zhao Hongru didn’t finish, but everyone understood. If the heart truly stopped beating, then even if Huo Sining got the ancient prescription and brewed a special medicine, it would be too late.

Medicine can’t revive the dead. If Master Qin truly lost all signs of life, no medicine could treat that.

”It’s a relief.”

Huo Sining let out a small sigh of relief hearing this from Zhao Hongru. Luckily, she and Gu Xu returned to the Imperial Capital in time, luckily she learned from Huang Zhenlong about the deterioration of Master Qin’s condition, and luckily, it wasn’t too late.

Zhao Hongru didn’t know what Huo Sining was thinking, but he nodded anyway:

”It is a relief, but given the old man’s current state, delays are certainly not viable. My suggestion is to proceed with chemotherapy as soon as possible. While there’s no guarantee it will work, there is still a slim chance. If we delay any further, who knows what could happen.”

Huo Sining was silent for a moment before looking up at Zhao Hongru:

”Teacher Zhao, you’re the attending physician for Master Qin’s condition. I don’t dare presume too much in front of you, but in fact, I do have a prescription in hand. Whether it can treat him, I’m not sure.”

”As you said, given the situation now, conservative treatment is certainly not feasible, but chemotherapy may not be truly effective either, especially with the old man’s age. You understand how much suffering he would endure.”

”So, I’ll head back now and prepare the medicine. In the meantime, could you try to postpone things as much as possible? If the medicine I bring isn’t effective, then we’ll follow your plan. What do you think?”

”This...”

Zhao Hongru, on one hand, didn’t believe Huo Sining genuinely had a method to treat cancer since no one worldwide has solved this problem. How could a young girl like her have the way?

Moreover, if Huo Sining indeed had it, he didn’t believe it would be effective for Master Qin. If it was truly effective, the discovery of the cancer isn’t recent; why hadn’t Huo Sining tried it before? Why wait until the old man’s condition worsened to a coma before acting?

Huo Sining found it difficult to explain to Zhao Hongru that her few herbs were rare and nearly impossible for ordinary people to obtain. But at this point, it wasn’t the time to explain such things. She could only say to Zhao Hongru:

”No matter if there is hope or not, even if it’s a long shot, we have to try, don’t you think?”

Zhao Hongru was still hesitating, but on the other side, Qin Han and the others had already heard the conversation between Huo Sining and Doctor Zhao.

The Qin family showed expressions of surprise, and Qin Han anxiously approached: ”Miss Huo, do you really have a way?”

Huo Sining turned around and saw the Qin family members all looking at her hopefully, making her a bit embarrassed:

”Actually, this method wasn’t my idea. Rather than saying I have a way, it’s more accurate to say Mr. Bai does. Whether this method works or not depends on Mr. Bai. If he doesn’t act, then I’m helpless.”

Hearing this, Qin Han was stunned: ”The Mr. Bai you’re referring to, is it Bai Buzhi?”

Huo Sining nodded: ”Yes.”

Qin Han instinctively exchanged glances with Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian, showing disappointment on their faces: ”Miss Huo, what way could Mr. Bai possibly have? If he had a solution earlier, my father’s illness wouldn’t have dragged on to this point.”

Huo Sining smiled: ”Uncle Qin, you misunderstood. Mr. Bai actually has a way, but his method requires certain conditions. He has a secret ancient formula from the ’Shu Jun’s Herbal Collection’ for treating cancer, but there are four herbs in it that are very hard to find.”

As soon as Qin Han heard this, he became anxious: ”What herbs? As long as it can cure my father, I’ll search high and low, even dig three feet beneath the earth to find them!”

Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian, who knew the situation, couldn’t help but smile wryly at Qin Han’s words:

”Dad (Uncle), don’t make a fuss. If those four herbs were easy to find, Bai Buzhi would have found them long ago, it wouldn’t be up to you. What’s the use of saying this now? Over the past two years, we haven’t stopped looking everywhere either, but the problem is that no one has ever heard of those four herbs, where do we start?”

Upon hearing his son and nephew’s words, Qin Han was immediately deflated. The little hope he had ignited was quickly extinguished.

However, Zhao Hongru on the side felt something was wrong. He had also heard of the ”Shu Jun’s Herbal Collection,” which was rumored to be as valuable as ”Shennong’s Secret Record,” but it had long been lost.

He didn’t expect that there was actually someone in this world who had this ancient book.

But that wasn’t the point; the point was, Huo Sining had mentioned before that she was going back to brew the medicine and asked him to delay the time.

Does this mean she has already gathered the herbs from the ancient prescription?

The disputing Qin family members also realized something and collectively turned their gaze towards Huo Sining.
