Urban Martial Saint

”Ha!” Slaughter Venerable let out a cold laugh and said, ”Helian Tiehua, if you want to be a hero, I won’t stop you. But remember, heroes never have a good end. So what if Ye has killed the Corpse Ghost Dragon? A common man’s innocence can be his guilt when he possesses a treasure; he will never have peace holding the Buddha’s Relic. Even if we don’t come for it, others will. If you want to die, fine. As long as you keep protecting him, you won’t live long either!”

Slaughter Venerable’s words did not cause much change in Helian Tiehua’s demeanor. He calmly said, ”A man’s life has one death. If one clings to life, what meaning is there in living longer?”

Hearing this, Slaughter Venerable’s face turned dark. These hidden masters, in their pursuit of extending life, have exerted every effort to seek opportunities for longevity, truly clinging to life. Helian Tiehua’s words were like a slap to his face.

”Good! Good! Good!” Slaughter Venerable shouted three times, suddenly leaping onto a distant rooftop.

Seeing Slaughter Venerable leap up, Helian Tiehua also jumped up immediately. However, he stood beside Ye Qing to prevent Slaughter Venerable from launching a sneak attack on Ye Qing.

Seeing this, a cold gleam once again flashed in Slaughter Venerable’s eyes. He gritted his teeth and said coldly, ”Helian Tiehua, I will return!”

With that, Slaughter Venerable turned around, leaped several times, and left the manor.

The Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance made a commotion as if they wanted to pursue him, but were stopped by Helian Tiehua. Such a peak master, even if the Seven Rudders caught up, would be impossible to detain. Only Helian Tiehua himself might be able to intercept Slaughter Venerable. However, if Helian Tiehua really wanted to kill him, he would have to pay a heavy price, which he did not wish to see.

”Ye Qing, are you alright?” Helian Tiehua walked to Ye Qing and asked.

”I’m okay.” Ye Qing stood up, gazing in the direction Slaughter Venerable had gone, and couldn’t help but sigh, saying softly, ”Great General, sorry for the trouble!”

”No problem.” Helian Tiehua waved his hand, grabbed Ye Qing’s arm, and jumped down from the eaves. He knew Ye Qing’s inner strength was gone, so jumping down like this wasn’t easy for him, so he helped Ye Qing.

After landing, Helian Tiehua first dispersed all the members of the Seven Rudders in the manor, then took Ye Qing to the hall.

”I never thought that after thirty-five years in hiding, Slaughter Venerable would reappear in the world!” Helian Tiehua sighed, with some worry on his face at last.

”Who exactly is this Slaughter Venerable?” Ye Qing could not help but ask.

”Slaughter Venerable is a figure from a generation later than Luan Ping.” Helian Tiehua said solemnly, ”Luan Ping should be from the same era as my grandfather, while this Slaughter Venerable belonged to the same era as my father. However, he became famous even earlier than my father. By calculation, he’s even older than my father!”

Ye Qing was stunned. In that case, this Slaughter Venerable should be a peak master of the previous era. Such a person coming out once more, like Luan Ping, does not need to heed worldly rules and would use any means necessary to achieve their goals. After all, their lifespan is running short, and they resurface to find opportunities for extending their lives. In such a hopeless hunt for opportunities, how can they care about rules?

”This Slaughter Venerable was previously a Dharma Protector-Venerable of Xiaolin Temple but was later expelled. In a way, he came from Xiaolin Temple.” Helian Tiehua said, ”However, his conduct is worlds apart from Xiaolin Temple. Although Xiaolin Temple belongs to the Buddhist Sect, it actually accommodates people of all kinds. For example, Joyous Monk, Wolf Monk, even Bloody Monk.”

Ye Qing nodded, looked at Helian Tiehua, and asked, ”Is this Slaughter Venerable perhaps like Bloody Monk and the others?”

”Not the same!” Helian Tiehua shook his head and said, ”Joyous Monk, Wolf Monk, and Bloody Monk, though impure and causing many killings, are still part of Xiaolin Temple. Xiaolin Temple never expelled them. Even though Bloody Monk massacred Xiaolin Temple and destroyed its thousand-year legacy, Shijia still acknowledges him as a junior, signifying he remains part of Xiaolin Temple. But Slaughter Venerable is different; he was directly expelled by Xiaolin Temple, which doesn’t recognize him anymore.”

”Why is this?” Ye Qing asked in surprise.

Helian Tiehua was silent for a moment, looking at Ye Qing, and said, ”Those people, Bloody Monk and Wolf Monk, what do you think of them?”

Ye Qing thought for a while and said, ”Although they’ve killed many people, both of them are straightforward in nature, and they do things with a clear distinction between love and hate. If you ask me, they are good people!”

”Exactly!” Helian Tiehua said, ”The Buddhist Doctrine of Xiaolin Temple does not concern itself with taboos, only a pure heart. As long as one’s heart is clear, one is part of the Buddhist Sect. Thus, Shijia can eat meat and drink wine, Joyous Monk is not restrained from lust, and though Wolf Monk and Bloody Monk have killed countless, they are still people of Xiaolin Temple. However, Slaughter Venerable is different. He is intent on evil, commits all sorts of crimes, and does so only to satisfy his desires. Such a person, with evil in their heart, is naturally not tolerated by the Buddhist Sect and was expelled from Xiaolin Temple at an early age!”

”I see!” Ye Qing frowned; he didn’t expect Slaughter Venerable to be such a person.

”He committed so many crimes, was there no one who tried to deal with him back then?” Ye Qing looked at Helian Tiehua and said, ”In those days, there were far more Peak Masters than there are now. Surely there were chivalrous souls who wanted to eliminate him?”

”Of course there were those who wanted to eliminate him. At that time, two Peak Masters vowed to eliminate him. They joined forces to ambush him several times but failed to kill him, and Slaughter Venerable went silent for a period. But not long after, Slaughter Venerable reappeared, bringing two brothers with him. They ambushed and exterminated the families of those two Peak Masters, killed one Peak Master, and the other Master went missing from that day on. All three were Peak Masters, all with immense strength. After that battle, no one in the world dared to interfere with them. Until by chance, they encountered the Supreme Divine Physician An Shiping. The three joined forces but were easily defeated by An Shiping. After that, they restrained themselves significantly and didn’t reappear for thirty-five years. Some said they died, but no one expected that they would choose such a method to hide for thirty-five years, just to wait for the opening of the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates!”

Listening to Helian Tiehua, Ye Qing couldn’t help but feel shocked. He didn’t expect these three to have ultimately been defeated by Divine Doctor An Shiping. Back then, when they were so ostentatious, with so many Peak Masters around, yet no one was willing to take them on—this shows how strong these three were. For such powerful figures to be so easily defeated by An Shiping, it truly shows how formidable An Shiping’s strength was!

”Since Divine Doctor An defeated them, why didn’t he just kill them?” Ye Qing couldn’t help but ask.

Helian Tiehua said, ”Divine Doctor An Shiping is a compassionate person, who believes in leaving a margin whenever possible. Unless absolutely necessary, he will not break the precept against killing. So although An Shiping was the supreme of a generation, there were very few lives taken by his hands.”

Ye Qing couldn’t help scratching his head. An Shiping didn’t kill these three men, which has left quite a few troubles for future generations. These three Peak Masters are still alive and are now coming to deal with him. If the three of them come, even Helian Tiehua wouldn’t be able to handle them.

”What is the background of his two brothers?” Ye Qing asked.

Helian Tiehua said in a deep voice, ”The eldest is called Sky-Killing Master, and the third is Executioner Scholar. Sky-Killing Master is a renegade from the Taoist Sect, a situation similar to Slaughter Venerable, also a man of many crimes. As for Executioner Scholar, he is somewhat different. Executioner Scholar was originally just an average master, not even considered a Top-Level Master. But he was extremely lascivious, with innumerable women in his lifetime, truly wicked. Once, when he went flower-picking, he was caught by an expert who broke his sinful root. Unexpectedly, from then on, Executioner Scholar’s power surged, and in just five years, he became a Peak Master. He returned and exterminated the entire family of that expert as revenge and, in front of the master, violated the females of his family, cruel in the extreme!”

”Wasn’t his sinful root severed? How could he still violate?” Ye Qing asked in surprise.

Helian Tiehua looked at Ye Qing and said, ”After being castrated, his psyche became twisted, and he specially made many devices to violate women. He used these devices for his deeds!”

Ye Qing couldn’t help but furrow his brow. Listening to Helian Tiehua, these three, and especially Executioner Scholar, are utterly beastly. These people should have died long ago, yet they’ve survived into this era!

”Counting among them, the strongest is perhaps Executioner Scholar!” Helian Tiehua said solemnly, ”For Sky-Killing Master and Slaughter Venerable, I’m not too worried. In a one-on-one fight, I am confident I can win. But Executioner Scholar is different. Even if I give it my all, the odds are only fifty-fifty. I might not be his match!”

Hearing this, Ye Qing couldn’t help but change his expression. Although Great General Helian Tiehua was a stand-out in the Five Unmatches of the World, besides Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun and deceased Northern Fist King Li Changqing, Helian Tiehua was an absolute power. For him to say such things shows just how formidable Executioner Scholar’s strength really is!
