Urban Martial Saint

Facing Li Lianshan and Zhao Chengshuang, Ye Qing felt extremely frustrated in his heart, but he really had no solution either. After pondering for quite a while, he finally patted both of them on the shoulder and said, ”Let me think about this matter further. I can’t come up with a good idea right now.”

”No problem, there’s no need to rush this issue,” Zhao Chengshuang said with a smile. ”Old Li has become increasingly impatient lately, wanting to solve everything immediately. But as I always say, haste makes waste. Let’s have a few drinks and take our time to chat and think. The solution might come to us, so there’s no need to rush right at this moment.”

”That’s true.” Li Lianshan nodded, dragged Ye Qing to sit down, and laughed, ”Come on, we three brothers haven’t gotten together for a few days. Let’s take this opportunity to have a few drinks together.”

Unable to refuse them, Ye Qing could only sit down and drink with them.

Ye Qing used to have a high tolerance for alcohol, but that was under the condition of having Inner Strength. Without it, his tolerance was just a bit better than Li Lianshan and Zhao Chengshuang. As they drank, Zhao Chengshuang and Li Lianshan had the habit of taking turns to pour more drinks for Ye Qing. By the end of the drinking session, Zhao Chengshuang and Li Lianshan were drunk, and Ye Qing was also about eighty percent drunk.

After getting the rambling Li Lianshan and Zhao Chengshuang to lie down in their rooms, Ye Qing sat back on the sofa and started pondering over what Li Lianshan had said before.

Just as Li Lianshan had mentioned, if the orphanage situation kept developing like this, the staff would eventually all leave. No matter how much Ye Qing paid them, life was the most important thing, and with these inexplicable disappearances happening, it’s admirable they still continued working there. However, if it’s not resolved quickly, they surely wouldn’t be able to hold on.

But how to resolve this matter? The Purple Robe Lama wanted to lure out the person behind the scenes, so things had to continue this way. Ye Qing couldn’t pause the orphanage’s operations without disrupting the Purple Robe Lama’s plan.

After thinking it over repeatedly, Ye Qing could only come up with one solution, which was to help the Purple Robe Lama lure out the person behind the scenes to completely solve the issue. But how to lure out the person behind the scenes became a very serious problem.

Ye Qing thought long and hard but couldn’t come up with a suitable method, eventually falling asleep on the sofa. He didn’t know how long he had slept when he suddenly felt his body shaking. Upon opening his eyes, he found himself being carried by someone, who had just jumped out of his courtyard, running towards the direction of the manor’s exit.

Ye Qing turned his head but couldn’t see the person’s face, only a rough outline. Clearly, Ye Qing didn’t recognize this person. Having a stranger carry him out and run towards the manor’s exit would make anyone worried.

Startled, Ye Qing knew this person must have a purpose. He dared not be careless and carefully checked the surroundings. Passing by one of the courtyards, Ye Qing suddenly shouted, ”General Helian, something’s wrong!”

This courtyard wasn’t where Great General Helian Tiehua lived, but many of his subordinates stayed here. Also, guards were usually present. Ye Qing’s sudden shout caused a stir in the courtyard, and a group of guards rushed out, asking what happened.

”Up there!” One guard first noticed the situation above, and the others quickly caught on.

”Isn’t that Mr. Ye? Mr. Ye is being captured?”

”Stop them!”

”Split up and don’t let them escape!”

”Go report to the Great General.”

”Block the entrance, don’t let anyone leave!”

The members of the Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance did not disappoint as they were personally trained by the Great General. After a brief chaos, they promptly positioned themselves to block all exits of the manor.

The person carrying Ye Qing was obviously startled by Ye Qing’s voice. He turned to look and said in a deep voice, ”You... how did you wake up? Didn’t I press your acupoints?”

Ye Qing finally understood why this man dared to carry him out like this. The man believed he had controlled Ye Qing by pressing his acupoints. Little did he know, Ye Qing no longer had any meridians or acupoints, so acupoint pressing was useless on him. In this situation, with all the jostling as he ran, is it any wonder Ye Qing woke up?

”Who are you? Why are you abducting me?” Ye Qing asked sternly.

Seeing himself surrounded by so many people, the man simply stopped running, threw Ye Qing to the side, and said coldly, ”Hmph, my name would scare you to death if I told you. But enough talk, if you value your life, hand over the Buddha’s Relic. Or else, I’ll kill you right now!”

Ye Qing finally got a clear look at this man’s appearance. He was pretty tall, around 1.85 meters. He was bald, and there were two scars on his head, making his head look like it was split open, quite terrifying. His gaze was very fierce, with a face full of ferocious features, resembling a butcher. However, he looked aged; although his face full of beefy features didn’t easily get wrinkles, his eyes clearly began to show murkiness, and his face had a lifeless look, much like Luan Ping whom Ye Qing had seen before.

Seeing this man’s appearance, Ye Qing’s expression changed. He had seen quite a few people like this, similar to Luan Ping, who were hidden experts dissatisfied with the end of their lifespan. To gain a chance to prolong their lives through the opening of the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates, they hid themselves, practiced cultivation, and used powerful Inner Strength to delay the aging of their internal organs. These hidden experts emerged as the opening of the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates approached, seeking the rare opportunity to enter it and gain Daoist longevity techniques. Luan Ping was one of the earliest to appear, and several others followed but were mostly controlled by Corpse Ghost Dragon, either having their Inner Strength absorbed and dying, or becoming subservient tools for the Corpse Ghost Dragon before ultimately also dying. So, besides Luan Ping, who barely survived, most of the early hidden experts had perished.

And this man seemed to be another such hidden expert. He had directly come for Ye Qing, clearly for the matter of the Buddha’s Relic. Everyone knew that the Buddha’s Relic could defeat the Corpse Ghost Dragon, who wouldn’t covet it?

After Ye Qing’s last battle with the Corpse Ghost Dragon, people witnessed the power of the Buddha’s Relic, and after the battle, Ye Qing disappeared with it. When Ye Qing reappeared, the Buddha’s Relic did not, leading people to believe Ye Qing had hidden it. Naturally, those desiring the Buddha’s Relic came to Ye Qing to demand it.

Ye Qing felt very frustrated; the Buddha’s Relic was indeed on him, and he didn’t even want it, as it posed a threat to his life. But even if he wanted to remove it, he couldn’t. Besides, giving it to a person with malicious intent wasn’t an option either!

Ye Qing said, ”The Buddha’s Relic was lost at sea in the last battle with Corpse Ghost Dragon. If you want it, go fish it out of the sea yourself.”

”Kid, don’t play games with me. I won’t fall for it!” the beefy man said in a deep voice. ”Do you think I’m stupid? Something as potent as the Buddha’s Relic and you let it sink into the ocean?”

Ye Qing said, ”I don’t know what else to tell you. During my fight with the Corpse Ghost Dragon, I defeated him but was injured and passed out. After that, the Buddha’s Relic was lost, and I have no idea where it went.”

”Stop babbling. I’m telling you, if you don’t hand over the Buddha’s Relic today, then this time next year will be the anniversary of your death!” The beefy man raised a hand and pressed it onto Ye Qing’s head, saying, ”I’ll ask you one last time, will you hand over the Buddha’s Relic or not?”

”It’s not on me; what can I hand over?” Ye Qing said helplessly. ”If you don’t believe me, you can search me.”

”Still playing dumb?” The beefy man’s eyes turned cold. Just as he was about to speak in anger, from behind came a cold voice, ”Friend, can’t we sit down and talk things over? Why bully someone who doesn’t have martial arts?”

Upon hearing this voice, Ye Qing’s heart eased, as it was none other than Great General Helian Tiehua’s voice. Among peak masters, Helian Tiehua was one of the very best. With him there, even hidden experts would meet their match!

The beefy man quickly turned his head to see Great General Helian Tiehua approaching from a distance. He immediately frowned, remained silent for a few seconds, and then coldly said, ”So, you are that Helian Tiehua. Hmph, you do have some skill. It seems the acclaim about you is somewhat justified!”

”Indeed, I am. May I know this senior’s name?” Helian Tiehua responded calmly, already guessing that this man must be a hidden expert, so he spoke respectfully.

”Hmph, want to know my name? Show me if you have the ability!” the beefy man replied coldly, exuding a haughty and arrogant demeanor.
