Urban Martial Saint

After a moment of silence, Ye Qing stood up and said, ”Great General, the people they want to deal with is me. This matter has nothing to do with the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance. How about this, I’ll leave Shenchuan City tomorrow and hide for a while. This way, they won’t be able to find me and won’t trouble the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance!”

”What kind of nonsense is that!” Helian Tiehua slapped the table and said sternly, ”If I were a coward afraid of death, I wouldn’t have stopped him as soon as I heard his name. Ye Qing, let’s put aside your relationship with the Seven Rudders, just for risking your life to kill the Corpse Ghost Dragon with the Buddha’s Relic, the whole world owes you a life. Even if I risk my life, it would only be to repay you!”

Helian Tiehua’s heartfelt words moved Ye Qing deeply. He nodded and said, ”Great General, I appreciate your good intentions. However, if I stay here, those three people will come eventually. Instead of that, it’s better for me to leave Shenchuan City and hide. This way, not only can the Seven Rudders avoid fighting them head-on, but it can also avoid the limelight for now!”

”Ye Qing, I understand your thoughts. However, you should know yourself; in this situation, can you really escape from Shenchuan City?” Helian Tiehua sighed and said, ”The news about the imminent opening of the Heaven, Earth, and Man Three Gates has spread across the world, and surely many hidden masters have already appeared. Just because Slaughter Venerable is the first to make a move, doesn’t mean there are only those three. Who knows how many other hidden masters are lurking, waiting to strike? The Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance are definitely under close surveillance. In this situation, you’ll be discovered no matter where you go. So rather than leaving Shenchuan City, it’s better to stay here.”

”But...” Ye Qing started to say, but Helian Tiehua interrupted him, raising his hand sternly, ”To resolve this, we must show these people a deterrent. We need to win a spectacular battle to let them know how strong we really are. This way, they will fear our strength and won’t dare to act recklessly!”

”A spectacular battle?” Ye Qing said in slight surprise, looking at Helian Tiehua, ”What does the Great General mean?”

”Slaughter Venerable comes from Xiaolin Temple, and he’s considered a fallen disciple of Xiaolin Temple,” Helian Tiehua said. ”A fallen disciple of Xiaolin Temple, causing trouble outside, should naturally be dealt with by the people from Xiaolin Temple. Therefore, I wish for you to bring out Bloody Monk and Wolf Monk for this battle. The three of us will join forces against these three. If we can completely defeat them, not only will it resolve the crisis posed by them, but it will also deter other peak masters from making rash moves!”

Hearing Helian Tiehua’s strategy, Ye Qing suddenly understood that Helian Tiehua planned to have a good showdown with these three, to intimidate others. However, to invite Bloody Monk and Wolf Monk for help, Helian Tiehua’s own influence wasn’t sufficient, so Ye Qing had to take the responsibility.

Bloody Monk was unruly and not one to be commanded by others. But he was particularly attentive to Ye Qing, because Ye Qing had saved many lives in Sha Men, so he was always responsive to Ye Qing’s requests. As for Wolf Monk, Ye Qing had rescued him from the Wanyan Family, and he owed Ye Qing his life, so seeking his help was assured.

”Since that’s the case, I’ll go contact the Blood Robe Sect Leader and Master Wolf Monk.” Ye Qing nodded. Currently, there was no other way but to gather these three peak masters in Shenchuan City and face the opponents head-on. Otherwise, endless trouble would loom ahead.

”Good!” Helian Tiehua nodded, clenched his fists, and said, ”This battle should not just be fought; it should be fought gloriously, showing those hidden masters our strength, so they would respect us!”

Ye Qing nodded vigorously. Helian Tiehua’s words mirrored his own thoughts. Those hidden masters, with their high-and-mighty attitudes, didn’t regard the peak masters of this era seriously at all. This time, their arrogant attitudes must be broken down!

”By the way, starting tonight, you shouldn’t stay in that courtyard anymore.” Helian Tiehua looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Move in with Mr. Bai Li.”

”Why?” Ye Qing asked curiously. He didn’t want to live with Bai Li Xi. This old man was particularly chatty, and living with him meant listening to his chatter all day long!

”There are countless hidden masters gathered in Shenchuan City right now, all wanting to get hold of the Buddha’s Relic, so they will definitely try to deal with you. If something happens in that courtyard where you live, we won’t be able to save you in time,” Helian Tiehua said. ”Living with Mr. Bai Li, you’ll be safer, at least you won’t be easily captured.”

”Bai Li Xi’s martial arts are already crippled, living with him may not necessarily be safe,” Ye Qing said.

Helian Tiehua said, ”Mr. Bai Li never relied on martial arts to win; his mastery of poisons is superb. Even peak masters have to weigh their actions before being impudent in front of him. Living with him, you’ll definitely be safer.”

Recalling Bai Li Xi’s antics of testing poisons on people during the day, Ye Qing couldn’t help but shudder. The old man’s skill with poisons was certainly not weak. Living with him would surely be safe, though his chattiness might drive one mad.

Despite his reluctance, Ye Qing ultimately agreed for the sake of his life. After returning, he packed his things and went to knock on Bai Li Xi’s gate.

Bai Li Xi, half-asleep, looked at Ye Qing carrying bags and asked in surprise, ”What are you doing? Moving house?”

”Yes, moving house,” Ye Qing pushed open the gate and went in, ”From today on, I’ll be living here with you.”

”What?” Bai Li Xi stared blankly for a moment and said, ”You’re living here, then where do I live?”

”You live here too,” Ye Qing said.

Bai Li Xi stared at Ye Qing for a while before suddenly cursing, ”Damn, are you a pervert? If you have that kind of interest, well I don’t. Don’t think just because I’m handsome, I must be that way. You’ve got the wrong idea about me!”

”Damn it!” Ye Qing was exasperated, thinking this old man not only talked too much but also had a particularly dark mind. Where did he get such bizarre ideas?

”Don’t damn me, I don’t have that kind of hobby!” Bai Li Xi replied straightforwardly.

”Get lost!” Ye Qing was speechless and repeated what Helian Tiehua said, finally clarifying the situation.

”Damn, you should have said so earlier, scared the hell out of me!” Bai Li Xi said indignantly.

Ye Qing replied, ”Well, you didn’t give me a chance to explain, did you? As soon as I came in, you jumped to conclusions. How can you blame me?”

”When didn’t I let you speak? Couldn’t you explain it first?” Bai Li Xi said.

Ye Qing: ”There are so many words, it takes time to explain, you know.”

”Couldn’t you make it short?” Bai Li Xi widened his eyes: ”Just say you’re here for protection, wouldn’t that do?”

Ye Qing was speechless; although the old guy’s words were harsh, they were indeed true.

”Stop the nonsense, which room am I staying in?” Ye Qing asked impatiently.

”Whatever, there are so many rooms here, pick one yourself.” Bai Li Xi yawned, clearly about to fall asleep again.

Ye Qing said, ”Hey, I can’t just choose by myself. Whichever room I stay in, you have to provide some poison for defense. What if someone attacks?”

Bai Li Xi replied proudly, ”Don’t worry, in my yard, even a Peak Master would have to be obedient and get out!”

”Why?” Ye Qing asked curiously.

Bai Li Xi: ”Look carefully at the walls on both sides.”

Following Bai Li Xi’s instructions, Ye Qing turned to look at the walls nearby. At first glance, they seemed no different from ordinary walls. However, after staring for a while, Ye Qing noticed something different. The walls were densely covered with a layer of white insects, almost the same color as the walls. Without a close look, it was impossible to tell.

”What...what are these things?” Ye Qing couldn’t help but ask.

Bai Li Xi said, ”These are called Guardian Insects, a very common kind of flying insect, easy to breed, and usually they cling to the walls. They protect their territory, and if someone unfamiliar intrudes, they will immediately attack en masse.”

”Can such small insects really affect a Peak Master?” Ye Qing asked curiously.

Bai Li Xi: ”These insects aren’t very powerful, they’re similar to bees. But the walls in my yard are covered with them, and if they all take flight at once, they can block out the sky. Forget about a Peak Master, even ten Peak Masters would be surrounded by a sea of insects. As the saying goes, many ants can bite an elephant to death. With so many insects covering a person tightly, even mosquitoes can suck a person dry.”

”I see.” Ye Qing suddenly understood, but his heart was filled with dread. He never imagined that such a deadly defense lay hidden in Bai Li Xi’s yard. If these Guardian Insects were to attack someone together, it would be truly lethal.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but feel grateful he didn’t jump over the wall directly. If he had triggered these insects, Ye Qing might not have known how he died.

”Your Guardian Insects are amazing, but isn’t it dangerous to just leave them there?” Ye Qing whispered, ”So many people live in this manor, what if someone accidentally triggers them?”

”Nonsense, do you think I’m an idiot? Do I need you to tell me such things?” Bai Li Xi said, ”Everyone in this manor has been sprinkled with the same scent, so they won’t trigger the Guardian Insects’ attack. These insects identify targets based on scent, and they’ll automatically attack as long as someone with a different scent comes in!”
