Urban Martial Saint

The enmity between Luan Ping and Nalan Jingwei was even deeper than his enmity with Corpse Ghost Dragon.

In Luan Ping’s heart, reaching this point was entirely due to Nalan Jingwei’s lack of help in the past. He put all responsibility on Nalan Jingwei, so his hatred for him was as deep as the sea. Even when talking to Helian Tiehua, he never forgot to speak ill of Nalan Jingwei.

”No need for you to teach me, I have my own plans,” Helian Tiehua said. ”You don’t need to mention these things. This time, Nalan Jingwei is here to help us deal with Corpse Ghost Dragon, and we’ve told him already that all past grievances are settled. As for the future, we’ll speak of it in the future. If he doesn’t provoke us, naturally we won’t make things difficult for him. But if he goes too far, we won’t sit back and let it happen.”

Luan Ping was actually using Helian Tiehua to deal with Nalan Jingwei, because he knew very well that with his current capabilities, he had no qualification for revenge. However, Helian Tiehua was different; in his prime, Luan Ping’s power absolutely suppressed Helian Tiehua, yet he was defeated by him. In his mind, Helian Tiehua was the foremost master of this generation, undoubtedly possessing the strength to kill Nalan Jingwei.

However, Helian Tiehua had no intention of dealing with Nalan Jingwei, which left him a bit disappointed. But Luan Ping refrained from pressing further, knowing that if he kept insisting, not only would it not change Helian Tiehua’s mind, but it might even provoke his displeasure, which would be counterproductive.

”Corpse Ghost Dragon is dead, you’re a free man now, why haven’t you left Shenchuan City with the others and remain here?” Shen Tianjun asked.

”Well...” Luan Ping felt slightly awkward, glanced at Bai Li Xi beside him, and said in a low voice, ”The Commonheart Worm in me hasn’t been removed yet, so...”

Shen Tianjun had been preoccupied with Ye Qing’s affairs since yesterday, almost forgetting about this situation. Hearing Luan Ping’s words, he finally recalled and promptly nodded: ”Yes, yes, I nearly forgot about this matter. Mr. Bai Li, do you have a way to solve the Commonheart Worm issue?”

Bai Li Xi nodded and said: ”It can be resolved, but not by me alone. We still need Old Ghost Ning to assist.”

”Really?” Luan Ping was overwhelmed with joy, his face full of excited expressions, saying: ”Then... can we ask Mr. Ning to help as well?”

”I have no issues, since Shen has promised you, I surely support him. But Old Ghost Ning is different; he’s always inclined to oppose me, and he’s not part of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, so I can’t order him around.” Bai Li Xi paused for a moment, looking at the slightly disappointed Luan Ping, continued: ”However, I’ll help ask him. If he’s willing to assist, the Commonheart Worm is not a big issue.”

”Then... I would trouble Mr. Bai Li.” Luan Ping promptly bowed to Bai Li Xi. He had completely lost the former imposing aura of a senior peak master and had become a nodding, bowing little figure in front of everyone.

During the time with Corpse Ghost Dragon, his temper and character had been worn down considerably. Trying to survive by Corpse Ghost Dragon’s side, who wouldn’t live like a slave?

Bai Li Xi said: ”Let me clarify, I’m just asking for you. Whether he agrees to help is not related to me.”

”Of course, of course,” Luan Ping nodded back eagerly, his face full of expectation looking at Bai Li Xi.

Bai Li Xi glanced at Helian Tiehua and Shen Tianjun and said: ”Since you promised to help him with this Commonheart Worm, let’s address it first. If Old Ghost Ning leaves Shenchuan City, it won’t be easy to call him back for assistance.”

”Thank you, Mr. Bai Li,” Shen Tianjun said.

Bai Li Xi nodded, left Luan Ping in the room, and went outside to find Ning Qianshu.

Watching Bai Li Xi walk away, Luan Ping quickly turned to Helian Tiehua with a smile and said: ”After resolving the Corpse Ghost Dragon affair, a large-scale battle between the Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance and the Twelve Green Halls will likely erupt. General Helian has a life-saving grace for Mr. Luan, I wonder if there’s anything I can assist with?”

Luan Ping’s words were a clear indication to Helian Tiehua that he was willing to help the Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance against the Twelve Green Halls.

If it were another peak master saying this, Helian Tiehua would be very glad. After all, dealing with Twelve Green Halls, the strength of the Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance was somewhat insufficient. But coming from Luan Ping’s mouth, he couldn’t be too pleased.

Luan Ping, who once was with the Nalan Family, later followed Corpse Ghost Dragon, then betrayed him. Altogether, he was a household slave of three allegiances, inclined to betrayal. Keeping such a person around, no one knows when he might stab you in the back. Therefore, Helian Tiehua never considered keeping Luan Ping around; having him would probably make the battle even harder.

”No need to trouble yourself, Senior Luan,” Helian Tiehua gestured with his hand and said: ”The fight with the Twelve Green Halls is an age-old enmity between our Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance and the Twelve Green Halls, a blood feud where outsiders are not allowed to interfere. I appreciate your kind offer, Senior Luan.”

Mr. Luan originally thought that as a Peak Master, coming personally to help the Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance would surely make Helian Tiehua very pleased and he would immediately recruit him into the Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance, perhaps even promote him to a high position. Unexpectedly, Helian Tiehua directly refused him, which made Mr. Luan somewhat indignant, and a hard to detect cold glint flashed in his eyes.

”Since that’s the case, I won’t inconvenience myself by meddling in your affairs.” Mr. Luan smiled lightly and said, ”If General Helian needs anything from me in the future, feel free to ask, and I will certainly do my utmost to assist!”

”Thank you, Senior Luan!” Helian Tiehua nodded and thanked him politely. Truthfully, he wasn’t harboring any thoughts about Mr. Luan; he was already incredibly thankful that this person didn’t come out to stir trouble.

Soon after, Bai Li Xi walked in with Ning Qianshu. Seeing Ning Qianshu enter, Mr. Luan was overjoyed. He knew that since Ning Qianshu had come, it meant he was definitely willing to help, and the life-threatening Commonheart Worm in him finally had hope for a cure.

”Well, it’s him.” Bai Li Xi led Ning Qianshu into the room and pointed to Mr. Luan, saying, ”The Commonheart Worm, are you confident?”

Ning Qianshu stared at Mr. Luan for a moment, while Mr. Luan quickly put on a smile and said, ”I trouble you Mr. Ning.”

”Mr. Luan, no need to be courteous.” Ning Qianshu nodded and said, ”Mr. Luan has helped us solve the major disaster of the Corpse Ghost Dragon, which counts as a great feat; helping Mr. Luan remove the Commonheart Worm is something we ought to do.”

Ning Qianshu’s words made Mr. Luan very pleased, and he nodded repeatedly, saying with a smile, ”I didn’t actually help much, it’s all thanks to you all.”

Ning Qianshu smiled faintly, saying nothing more, and together with Bai Li Xi walked to Mr. Luan’s side, carefully observing his facial condition and checking his pulse, examining his physical state.

Mr. Luan was a bit nervous; although the two said they could remove the Commonheart Worm, until it’s resolved, he was still worried. If this Commonheart Worm cannot be resolved, then he is surely doomed.

After a short examination, Ning Qianshu turned to Bai Li Xi and said, ”Master, how is it?”

”I’m certain it’s fine on my end; it’s up to you, kid.” Ning Qianshu replied.

”Then let’s begin.” Ning Qianshu turned to Helian Tiehua and said, ”General Helian, is it possible to arrange a private room?”

”No problem.” Helian Tiehua nodded, instructing someone to arrange a private room, and Bai Li Xi, Ning Qianshu, and Mr. Luan entered together, the two of them working together to rid Mr. Luan of the Commonheart Worm.

Helian Tiehua watched as the three of them left the hall, and as the trio moved away, Helian Tiehua finally furrowed his brow slightly and said in a deep voice, ”Mr. Luan is extremely untrustworthy, I always feel that keeping him around is bound to be a problem!”

”Not only that, I see Ning Qianshu is also intent on befriending Mr. Luan.” Shen Tianjun frowned too, saying solemnly, ”Looking at Mr. Luan’s complexion, I’m afraid his lifespan is nearing its end. This person will use every means necessary for survival. As Heaven, Earth, and Man Three Gates are about to open, his only hope of extending his life lies within those gates. In this battle, I fear he will cause chaos within!”

Helian Tiehua also sighed; actually, they had been worried about Mr. Luan’s situation for a long time. However, since they promised to free Mr. Luan from the Commonheart Worm, naturally they wouldn’t go back on their word at this point. If they reneged, wouldn’t they be the same type of person as Mr. Luan? Thus, when Bai Li Xi went to free Mr. Luan from the Commonheart Worm, they did not stop it to avoid any gossip.

But while they can keep their promise to free Mr. Luan from the Commonheart Worm, the subsequent issues are going to be troublesome.

”I suspect Twelve Green Halls has intentions of wooing Mr. Luan.” Shen Tianjun remarked, ”Ning Qianshu is a person who considers interest first; we agreed to resolve the Commonheart Worm for Mr. Luan, but he did not. Now that he has come to resolve this Commonheart Worm for Mr. Luan, it really surprised me. Regarding this matter, you must be cautious!”

Helian Tiehua slightly furrowed his brows; indeed, he noticed this as well. But he could do nothing and was left to bide his time. He now truly missed the time when Ye Qing was around; with Ye Qing’s appeal, not only would Shen Tianjun and the Masked Elder assist, even Bloody Monk and Wolf Monk would lend a hand. But now, Ye Qing’s fate is unknown, and Bloody Monk and Wolf Monk simply disregard him. Dealing with Twelve Green Halls, Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance clearly lacks strength!

And now it seems, Shen Tianjun and the Masked Elder are also unwilling to get involved in the feud between Twelve Green Halls and Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance. Perhaps, due to Huangfu Ziyu’s situation, Shen Tianjun might help somewhat, but it’s far from enough. It’s nothing compared to when Ye Qing was around, when even Ding Lianshun and Yin Xianzi from Twelve Green Halls considered Ye Qing a true friend!

But now, where is Ye Qing?
